Dear Respected Ma'am,. You are really an invaluable asset and boon to the English literature students. In fact, words fail to define your scholarship, talent, proficiency and knowledge in the topics you deal with. Your video lessons are highly beneficial to the learners and students as well. Every point is clear, direct and straight in your excellent explanation. In deed we are all immensely thankful to for your erudition.
I must say finally I have gotten a golden teacher, I am flattered the way u explained the whole poem! I came to your comment box after watching the whole video.. thank you so much mam! ❤️
Thank you soo much for making this video and keep helping million of students who are not able to get a good education ❣️ You're doing a wonderful job ! Only because of you I'm now able to understand everything which appeared to me obscure at first .
You have interpreted this poem in the perspective that that Byzantium itself is a paradise! The descriptions of the images held our imaginations! ..i am singularly fortunate for getting the benefit of listening to your lecture..for ..you sincerely tried to throw clarity on these lines like.... Monuments of unaging intellect, a tattered coat upon a stick, sages standing in god's holy fire...and in the gold mosaic of a wall...set upon a golden bough to sing.....you have brought out the clear distinction between permanence and Evanescence......i am highly appreciative of your punctilious attention to all the devices the poet has used...in this poem.... Regards ......
your love for literature truly reflects in your videos and thats probably why your videos do justice to every piece of work you take up thankyou thankyou so much for your efforts ❤
THIS POEM is really good where we get many new aspect with new ideas of aging. i hope all the reader get much information about this topic, i must say : Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
Your outstanding explanation and defining work is phenomenal and we cannot give enough credit to you. Thank you so much Ma'am. Sending tons of appreciation and love from Nagaland.
Ma'am your amazing. I really understand the most difficult poems looking ur videos. Ur explanation are long and accurate and in detail. Thank you ma'am and we would like to see more videos of u !!
Thank you ma'am. Your explanation made me clear all my doubts. I hope for masters I come to your college and get the golden chance of being taught by you.
Thanks for such an awesome explanation, i have my mids next week and i was struggling understanding this poem that how will i explain it but after listening to your video, i think i can write very well and will do my best in exams
Wonderful explanation as ever! I just found a similarity between the old man journeying to Byzantium, having understood that this mortal, familiar world has become so foreign to him, and the old fellows 'cabined, cribbed and confined'(sarcastic, of course) in the grand mansions of the modernised world, hence, being sent to the 'Briddhasram' for 'refuge'.
But it's also a kind of similarity with a difference, I suppose. Because in the Byzantium poem, the old man is taking on a deliberate journey to the holy land, for achieving, what is known as, transcendental peace(moksha), whereas in the Briddhasram song, the old people are forced to leave the apartment by their successors.
Appreciate your analysis, Mam. Thanks a lot. This poem is actually a masterpiece of "unaging intellect" , therefore needs a deeper analysis and more intellectual scrutiny.
Mam I have just seen this video , it’s awesome and I think as a professor you have had researched about this topic that’s why you have brought so many references that’s quite interesting.
I feel this poem was more like a transforming poem both for yeats and for the readers. The poem uses the word gold here which can be taken as a symbol of peace but if we look from another perspective it will not be wrong to say that the recurring word gold or golden can be a modern world which only keeps floating on the artificial shine or glamour. Gold is a metal which captures the beauty of the buyer and so the poet wants to be captured just like the gold so that people don't forget him. He tries hard to be remembered though the nature of the world is to be forgotten. Thank you ma'am for this amazing explanation ❤🌈
It is inexplicable for me to have a comment. It was so nice that I could comprehend each and every aspect of the poem.Madam, you have given a clear image of WB Yeats in❤ his later life. An excellent work. Requesting to provide more classes on British Literature
Tie-ins to The Golden Bough by James Frazer. The golden bough in The Aeneid that Aeneas used to pay the toll to Charon to visit his father in the Underworld. Influence of poem on No Country For Old Men (film and the novel it was based on).
Thank you so much ma'am this video really helped me out ❤ loved the way you explained each line. Ma'am one more request to you, please make videos on criticism
Thank you so much ma'am for simplifying the ideas and thoughts that went into composing this masterpiece. I went through so many critical comments and essays, but nevertheless it became more difficult to understand the crux of the poem. Ma'am it would be very grateful of you if, you could kindly upload the analysis of The Second Coming too.
Beautiful explanation mam! your video display , the relevant pics, the poem, your voice everything is so calm and understandable .. It was to the point... A suggestion : pls after explaining, do give tips how to write this poem as an essay . important points to be highlighted and important quotes in this poem...

And i also recommend my friends to hear this lecture..thank you so much for this...it would be really helpful if you kindly explain the poem i cannot live with you by Emily Dickinson. Thank you Ma'am.🌸🙏💕
Weird that he capitalized "Emperor." Yeats was a member of the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn, so would be familiar with the Rider-Waite tarot, if I remember correctly. (I know that deck was created by fellow members, but I'm not sure if this was before or after the poem). The Emperor holds a scepter that looks like an ankh, and an orb, both golden. I know there is a technique for achieving a state that is almost dreaming where a drowsy person sits with a weight in their hand, and if they nod off the weight falls into a bowl and makes a loud noise, waking them up. But it's a weird reading of the poem. "Golden Bough," though... I'd be stunned if that wasn't a Sir James George Frazer reference.
She has done real justice to this piece of poetry..,,
Such a proper way of explaining everything that needed explaining..,
Thanks a lot professor
