My dad when he was alive he loved carving, and making tiny tools. He made a claw hammer a ball peen hammer and a mini vice all out of brass and even a 3" pipe wrench He did carve a very odd looking spoon out cedar I don't know what happened to it. he even hand carved a gun stock for his winchester 22 Rifle. I think I need to pick up what you and he did. Blacksmithing too I absolutely love your channel.

Bang out a blank in 20 minutes and spend 2 hours finishing it off LOL. Your spoon prices are excellent, such a fine balance between cheap enough that people will buy them vs gotta make enough $$ to eat. My wife would NEVER live such a life, glad you can make it work. Absolutely my new favorite channel! I have watched almost all of your videos in just a couple days. One thing that gets me a lot is how hardships created a life for y’all that I literally dream about! I’m sure it pretty hard at times, but as the saying goes, “what doesn’t kill us.” Right?! I also make things, cutting boards, hand carved baseball bats, furniture, things like that. I quit tattooing after 17 years to teach myself blacksmithing a few years back as well. And you are absolutely right, community is so essential in life, especially as craftsmen. It is so easy to go to big box stores and buy garbage that will be insignificant in life, but to buy something that someone put their heart into is something different. Great job and please keep it up!

Waiting for the new video, but wanted to let you guys know the left handed spatulas you made fo me arrived. I made fettuccine alfredo. It gave me a really good feel for the more spatulate shaped one in my pan. Its a marvelous tool, unexpectedly good shape for both my hand and my pan. The walnut is lovely, but the sycamore was unexpectedly beautiful. Thank you so much for it.

Thank you for the gorgeous spoon. Thank you for putting the pair of lefty Walnut Spatulas together as a set as well. I guess a bowl will have to wait till next month. Latest spoon use was in a pot of beef bolognese. Almost 3 pounds of chuck well marbled with fat. Browned in 2 batches in a 14 inch skillet. Tossed it in a pot, and browned fine diced root vegetables in the rendered beef fat in the skillet. tossed in garlic and thyme, big can or tomatoes, nutmeg, cloves, splash of red wine vinegar. Poured a cup of red wine and shot of cognac in the skillet to pull the fond up, added all that to the pot. Added 3 cups of brown stock, enough to not quite cover the meat, which is made by boiling roasted turkey, pork and beef bones with more root veggies whole, but the solids get strained out. Just gel is left. Anyway, that pot goes into a low oven for 4-5 hours, no lid, beef, sautéd veg and brown stock. Skim fat off the top and save for biscuits. Fast boil stovetop with a lot of gently stirring. Don't want to turn the meat to paste, don't want it to stick and burn the bottom. Out of that pot, with your spoon, comes this meaty amazing sauce, over noodles. My guest ate 2 bowls. My son as well. Me too. They both loved your spoon. Yeah, I'll do my best to describe what I do with the spatulas. Most likely just lots of eggs and pancakes. Thank You.

I owned my own outside blacksmith shop for years. As such a bit of advice. Cover your outside equipment to prevent rust and decay, anchor them down to prevent blowing away. A simple bucket works on some things on others it might take a tarp, get creative. In the long run it will save you money, heartache and frustration. Best of luck. See you in the Ozarks soon.

Love you guys, now. Good that you work hand-to -mouth; MUCH better than having peoplle, come around, looking for money; the debt piling up faster than you can pick it down! Takes your vision off your work, and puts it on the corner of the road, seeing if the man is coming. ughbusyfbusdfbwu to that!! Look to God and your hands for the future; when you get sick, you can take a few days, not worry about the man, but just getting better. When you get done, back on your feet, you can just start in again! Keep your eyes on the vision God gave you, and look to Him for everything! You guys are kind of like Mr. Chickadee, except talking!
