To play devils advocate he could have been saying it to avoid the first aid conversation. The 911 operator will usually coach the person through first aid while waiting for first responders. As a fire captain with that experience, him saying it was a mortal wound kind or negates the need for that.
Those recordings shouldn't be to show your partner. The day my husband left he said some of the most vile things imaginable. I managed to record a lot of it. I've never played it for him. It wasnt for him. It was for me. Six months later, when he was trying to "date me" again and "make it up to me" i made my self listen to it weekly. I am successfully still single. Recording it CAN be helpful.
I did this with screenshots, and a broken gaming controller from the night I finally grew my backbone and kicked my partner out of my home. So many people didn't understand why I felt the need to keep any of it, and some days, I didn't either but on the hard days, when I was lonely or wondering if I was the problem, I looked at that controller and remembered that I was now safe from someone who never cared about my safety and would rather be the one to put me in harm's way than ever help me. I looked at those texts to remind me of the gaslighting, the narcissism and the person he truly was because sometimes, it was not to easy to remember. I'll never forget the day I did a phone purge and finally tossed out that controller. It was the closest to 'healed' that I had felt in a long time. The damage is still there but thankfully, it only comes in very small waves when I am triggered - not like it used to.
If my husband died with his hands across his chest and the gun on the opposite side to his dominant hand please tell me how much luxury I would be afforded? I wouldn’t even have a choice of handing over my cell phone or just showing them some messages they would take it without question irrespective of what I wanted. Absolutely disgusting!
That phone call between him and the detective warning him about looking through his texts is absolutely insane. Also the detective saying they're "a difficult family" ?? So infuriating
It’s less so than you think, he explains on the phone they have her phone and can get her records so if he lies or deleted it etc it can be corroborated. The phonecall is recorded and it’s actually a giant window for him to incriminate himself by saying soemthing on a recorded call.
All the things they didn’t do like not taking his phone, the gunshot residue, DNA testing, and being interrogated thoroughly are all normal procedures we have seen done over and over again in similar cases. He’s blatantly getting special treatment. Its infuriating.
My dad died when I was 2 and when my mom got remarried my step dad died as well. They were both named Tom and both died in May but a few years apart. Sometimes it’s just bad luck. 😅
Why did he keep getting into relationships if he hates it so much? I hate men like this, you don't HAVE to get married, you don't HAVE to have a girlfriend, you can be single your whole life and let these women find someone else who will love and appreciate having them in their lives!
Exactly! Dude, just be a player. Why get deeply involved in relationships…I guess probably all part of him feeding his psychosis and narcissism. I wondered too if he’s using them to cover up his bi-sexuality? He’s in a very male career and fearing judgement or be outed if he didn’t maintain a woman in his life?
From my experience, men like this like the "services" they get ie. clean home, dinner ready, intimacy etc. but they also enjoy coming home and punching down onto someone. They’re frustrated from work and having a punching bag at home (even if the punching is "only" verbal) is a benefit to them. These men keep this up sometimes for years with little to no effort to leave the relationship.
it’s not about love, it’s about power and control for narcs. they enjoy tormenting women. the “hating” it is honestly kinda a facade; they’re just trying to inflict as much pain as possible. yet, every time, they will come crawling back claiming to love you so much. they just like making chaos
Its mind blowing this weasel had options at all! He’s so repulsive. Honest, how does one walk around all confident when being below average? Im convinced that he must acquire something extra extra. Lol Clearly not outwardly visible. Something hidden. Something underneath all that ugly. 🫣🤯 Its the only way. lol
When the detective says: "They're a difficult family" - talking about this poor lady's family trying to find out the truth about her death.... Oh my word. My mouth dropped open. wow
I am still so furious over that part. They’re difficult because they’re trying to get you to do your job and actually investigate a crime??? I have no words. Makes me wonder how many other crimes that detective treats at face value and doesn’t dig deeper or if he’s only like this with his buddies.
Yes. Broke my heart for them. Cops seem to hate the victim’s families so often. It becomes very contentious when cops seemingly just sit around not actively investigating or give up so soon. But also sometimes it’s just that they have nothing to go on for years and must follow rules. Firefighters and cops wives “kill themselves” at ridiculous rates…or do they?!
'Hey! I'm headed that way to look at your phones......do you have conversations between the two of you on your phone? Not saying you might wanna delete it, but you might want to..." The people who are supposed to serve and protect, folks. Serving and protecting their brother in arms. Sickening.
Q: what’s worse than committing murder? A: covering for the killer you’re supposed to be investigating. Thank you for speaking on this!! This story NEEDS to get out and people need to push back on this corruption of justice! It’s disgusting!!

I totally appreciate your desire to apologize but also you are 100% in the right to make the best choices for your life and mental health. I’ve only got respect for people who look at themselves and say “I can’t do this right now” and make the best choices for themselves. I hope everything that you are dealing with resolves well and wish you and your family peace and comfort.
The fact that you’re able to put out Coffee and Crime time videos in the midst of the difficulties you mentioned is amazing and appreciated by me. I’m glad you’re making decisions like putting the Florence Monster series on hold to protect your mental health. Love you!
He killed the first one. There’s no sense of urgency in that 911 call. Even if you know the person you love is dead you are still urgently trying to get them help because you don’t want to think they’re dead. He was also the last person to see Grace alive. Hope he rots in jail that disgusting monster.
That conversation was crazy, he immediately assumed w. No evidence that it was suicide, didn't entertain that he could have killed her, if it was someone the detective wasn't friends with he would have been investigated throughly, they need to bring in unbiased law enforcement but it's most likely too late evidence is most likely gone, unbelievable these detectives should be fired & him arrested.i can't imagine being her family.
If a loved one of mine is ever given this kind of lack of effort in solving their suspicious “suicide” and I’m not “difficult”, throw me in a pit. How dare that man say that about a grieving family. Absolutely foul.
His friends were the people investigating this, and even if there were some who didn't want to protect him, their boss made sure they'd do it anyway. The misogynistic culture usually trickles from the top down. Brothers have each other's backs in thick and thin, no matter how toxic it is. "Bro's before hoes". Charming, right!? 😡
The detective who said the victim's family is a "difficult family" because they want to investigate, should be FIRED. Also, why would a detective give a heads up they were going to check the cell phone messages?
Exactly! I thought the same exact same! The heads up and who takes photos of texts when the phone records are available with a warrant! 📱 recently I saw a case were the phone is not needed to get the text records Detectives can go to the cell phone provider to get the texts! What a horrible Man! RIP Grace and Sara 😢😢
He spoke with more concern and emotion when being asked to give up the phone than he did when he called in her “suicide.” I imagine his narcissistic need for control and the idea of having others see how bad he was would’ve been driving him mad even if the evidence in it didn’t support that he killed her.
I love how when it comes to civilians you can't delete anything! They can always recover it lol but not when it's a good ole boy ... Then everything gets " lost, not recorded , or somehow corrupted" lol.
All I needed to hear to determine that he had something to do with her death, was that chuckle he made when calling 911 to report her ‘suicide’. Unbelievable.

please consider covering the bizarre disappearance of Gage Daniel(6yrs old) and Chloie Leverette(8yrs old). Their grandparents had custody of both children. On September 23rd 2013 a blazing house fire was put out by firefighters. The burnt remains of the elderly couple were found down in the basement lying side-by-side on the concrete floor. The basement door stayed locked at all times because that's where the man's tools were kept. The charred remains of their beloved dog were located, and even their little yellow parakeet. BIZARRELY NO remains of the children could be located at the scene, whatsoever. Investigators say that the only item missing from the home was a large safe. To this day Gage and Chloie have never been seen or heard from again.
Wow. Now THAT is one I could see stephanie doing justice for! Because I've heard this story of the firefighter before...but SO many details left out from another creator- which make her coverage of this like I've never heard it before. The case with those children sounds sketchy AF! I Hope steph sees this and does it! She would do it justice for sure!!!
Honestly, the part when he was overheard on the phone that “his boys in blue wouldn’t do anything to him”. He definitely meant that and I’d be so afraid living with him… oh my god
I'd be afraid to leave too. The most dangerous times in a woman's life are while she is pregnant, AND within the first 2 weeks of leaving a relationship. Women get killed while trying to leave all the time. We don't know what other things he had said when he wasn't being recorded... This is one scary dude.
Thats exactly what I thought! "Difficult family" They are trying to figure out what happened to their daughter and hoping to get answers to the many unanswered questions. How dare you calling them difficult, sir.
I feel so bad for Grace’s family. I can’t imagine losing her and then having to hear those messages read. Hearing her being so desperate for a man to love her that was awful to her. 💔
"We don't think that wanting to call off a relationship is also motive for a murder"..... have these guys watched ANY TRUE CRIME EVER!? They ALWAYS kill to get out of a relationship! Wtf!?
When i was 16, i excitedly opened a joint account with my boyfriend. I worked, put money in. He didn't and took money out. It was a tough lesson, but I'm thankful i learned it young, without too much to lose. Do everything you can to have your own money. If someone is trying to control your finances, they WILL try to control other aspects of you. They're likely going for full control.
my first boyfriend would get so uncomfortably upset when i told him i didn’t want to open a joint bank account with him. his stance was that we lived together anyways and my stance was “we don’t have our own place and we’re not married, so i don’t see the point” and he would get so mad about it. now i’m out of the relationship and i see how controlling he really was throughout and it’s crazy how i didn’t realize it that much while in the relationship. my family has helped me realize just how controlling he was and tried to be in all aspects and i’m thankful i didn’t budge with a lot of things.
A detective giving a person of interest a heads up about searching their personal property?! What. On. EARTH. Corrupt to the core. And regarding the ring…if someone is going to go through the trouble of making a dupe, wouldn’t they insure the original ring too? So much “oof.”
Proud of you, Stephanie, for modeling really important self-care and healthy boundaries. You have gotten SO many people through so many difficult times- we are here for you, and we are rooting for you. Please don’t ever apologize again- you never know how much good you may be doing, just by leading by example. It also helps me personally, to try harder, to extend that same grace to myself, as I have been experiencing a mental health struggle, for the past few months, and have not been able to continue with some things I had been working on. Compassion towards self is really hard for me- but I’m working on it. Thank you for being you, Stephanie!! 💜⚡️
I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Ehler's Danlos (likely the other condition she had, as they go hand in hand). I really appreciate you taking the time to learn a bit about it! That makes me feel much more understood and less alone. Good job, Stephanie Harlowe!!! Ironically, I was married to an extremely abusive fireman, myself. This video is eerie to me. He tried to murder me with a metal baseball bat to the head. I had amnesia from the event until an additional concussion brought it flooding back. He is now in prison for having a criminal double life.
I am so glad you commented on how toxic she was as well! Obviously the poor woman didn’t deserve to be murdered but could you imagine if it were a man saying those things to a woman? “You DO love me! You WILL marry me!! We WILL be a family!!!” 😬 Again, can’t stress enough that she didn’t deserve to die but my gosh.. 😨
Right. I feel like she wanted to stay with him for stability and money. For her kids and she was pregnant. That texts were disgusting from both end but she was forcing herself into his life.
Yeah I agree. So toxic. People that have children should not allow this type of person in their life. Both of them. I was single for 15 years after my ex and I broke up. I had a horrible stepdad and no way would I ever take a chance and put my son through that. I never regretted my decision.
The conversation with the cop infuriates me! What a POS! He's giving him a heads up "Hey buddy, delete any bad stuff on the phone, because we're just going to be taking pictures. Feel free to delete everything after and lose that phone. You're good with us wink wink. Her family is crazy BTW. Ok my dude, have a great day!" The whole thing is disgusting and criminal. This is the reason many people don't trust the police. It's a shame because many are good people, but this is absolutely an abuse of power. I hope they all end up in jail. JMO
As a single mom of 3 pursuing my PhD, thank you for what you said about realizing your own limitations. I have had to let go of certain opportunities recently, and I really appreciate hearing that from you! I admire your drive and accomplishments so much, Stephanie!
A lot of people like this man, in texts after hes finished telling you "im done, i will never be with you" -- will also later tell you that you've made them come to their senses, you've "saved them", they wanna be with you, etc. I wouldnt even be surprised if he was inducing miscarriages with these women. Hes truly a manipulator

Stephanie, you've made Mabel such a dynamic, complex, sympathetic, relatable character that I keep needing to remind myself that she's one of the bad guys. You have a real talent for acting - line delivery, emotive facial expression, and camera-conscious movement for blocking a scene. Plus you're so beautiful it's unreal. I know you're going through a lot of personal stuff right now, so I just wanted to remind you that you are admired and appreciated for your brilliant mind, outrageous talent, and huge heart. This too shall pass. xx
The detective should under no circumstances be discussing the case with him. Nor ever made the phone call to say “hey we gotta check your phone”. Nor should he be talking about graces family like that no matter what. 😮
The rage this filled me with is insane- what a scumbag to not only take this woman’s life, leaving 4 children behind, and then to blame it on her??? Sick, and the department that tried to sweep this under the rug is just as disgusting. Hopefully with her family’s determination she will get justice.
Your narration is as good as ever! I am so glad you are back with these shorter stories. Take your time. Most of us love your work and wish you only the best. ❤

I'm also going through alot right now with finding out my husband of 17yrs now has a gambling problem so I can relate to live suddenly changing in an instant and having to deal with it!!!
I was married to a textbook narcissist and it was hard to listen to certain parts of this. People with npd do not care about people outside themselves and do all sorts of mental gymnastics to make themselves seem like people they aren’t. My ex told me once he thought about killing me. These people are twisted. I feel bad for these women. I know it doesn’t look normal for her to beg him to stay but the back and forth and the love bombing and devaluing makes you want to feel the tiniest bit of respect from them. It made me accept behaviors I would never accept today.
Stephanie, You are one of the best. You’ve been here for us for so long. You take the time you need and we will be here whenever you’re ready. Much love and light to you. ❤️
Yes, Very tragic what happened to her. Something was very wrong in her behaviour in the relationship though. It's important to at least recognize that in the big picture. May she rest in peace.
My heart goes out to Grace and her family and she didn’t deserve what happened. It was just frightening hearing all those recordings and messages - it was definitely a toxic situation for both parties. Daus was so verbally abusive to her, how did she still feel convinced that he loved her, convinced enough to keep repeating it? For everyone out there, if he’s calling you a psycho or other names, it’s not love and never do anything to convince someone to be with you.
He didn't really try to get away from her and he had opportunities to. Her sisters got her away from him and asked him to stop contacting her but he wouldn't and she went back and ended up pregnant. He could have gotten away multiple times but he had control and didn't.
Drawing boundaries for your wellness is always a healthy positive act! You take care of you! I learned a few years ago that “No” is a complete sentence.🙏🏼

Yeah it’s so strange the family is angry you murdered their daughter. The department he served as well as the police should be ashamed of themselves. They protected a murderer. He’s a classic narcissist. Seriously, he has two women kill themselves while with him?! He’s either so abusive that death looked better or he’s a murderer. My bet is on the latter. Ridiculous what the police did. And as a fellow MCAS sufferer, allergy meds help. It’s not something that requires pain meds. I’m not buying it.
Stephanie, I just wanted to give you a virtual hug and say never be sorry for taking the time you need for other life reasons. Knowing your mental limits and abilities at the time you are in life is never a bad thing! I wanted to also say for you to remember that whatever you are going through will in time pass regardless of whether it's a positive or negative experience. You look after you and your family first, and we'll all still be here when you're ready to revisit the multipart series ❤
If a woman leaves a partner like this every time he says he doesn't want to be with her, and sweet talks and threaten her to come back immediately afterwards, all she'll ever do is move back and forth. You learn to ignore the "I don't want to be with you" as something he says when he's angry, and it becomes the frog in the gradually warming water situation. When you realize that the water is reaching boiling point, it's too late. I got out in time, thank goodness, but it was not easy. And I say that realizing that my ex was a standup guy compared to this raging psychopath.
The back and forth Jeckel and Hyde method is done for control. It's done so the victim craves the good personality and starts to think their behavior dictates the emotions of the abuser there by trying to please the abuser. A craving for those best moments and thinking that by catering to the abuser those moments can become permanent. I know this first hand
Oh Stephanie, I truly hope whatever it is you’re going through, starts to get better for you. You, & your loved ones should always take first priority. Wishing you all the best ❤

Yeah that part pissed me off!
Seems like it…
Absolutely!
He said it himself “my brothers in blue”. Very frustrating!
The second he said “my brothers in blue” I knew I smelled a rat. I’m so fucking angry.

You end up with 2 dead spouses, you’re either the unluckiest guy on planet earth, or you’re a murderer….
My thoughts exactly. Like, the most unlucky 🙄

Like Michael Peterson
Why did he keep getting into relationships if he hates it so much? I hate men like this, you don't HAVE to get married, you don't HAVE to have a girlfriend, you can be single your whole life and let these women find someone else who will love and appreciate having them in their lives!
He just had to get out of the closet
🫣🤯 Its the only way. lol
Detective Parker & Daus’ whole phone conversation: y’know, y’know? Y’know. Y’know... y’know.
infuriating really. Are they really that small-brained?
That first 911 call is BIZARRE. He could be talking about a bowl of cereal for how calm he is
I wish they would share the entire 911 call. It cuts off too soon.
I do not know how he lives with himself. ):
"you know?"
The entire interaction is absolutely infuriating.
'Hey! I'm headed that way to look at your phones......do you have conversations between the two of you on your phone? Not saying you might wanna delete it, but you might want to..."
The people who are supposed to serve and protect, folks. Serving and protecting their brother in arms. Sickening.
This is terrible. Not representative but sure puts a damper on trust
Q: what’s worse than committing murder?
A: covering for the killer you’re supposed to be investigating.
Thank you for speaking on this!! This story NEEDS to get out and people need to push back on this corruption of justice! It’s disgusting!!
When that cop said they're a difficult family I wanted to throw my phone, EXCUSE ME SIR! THEY LOST THEIR CHILD IN VERY SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES!
Exactly. The cops failed to do their jobs properly. So of course the family are 'being difficult'.

Hope he rots in jail that disgusting monster.
this is infuriating! a detective warned him that they were coming for evidence? unbelievable.
I literally said out loud, "Why are they telling him this?!"
@@ferociousgumbyright? that conversation was sickening. the detective calling her family "difficult?" holy sht
The detective needs to be fired and brought up on charges. If nothing else, obstruction of justice!
"can you just print that text thread out for us?" Like WTF can you imagine any detective saying that to a suspect?!?
If a loved one of mine is ever given this kind of lack of effort in solving their suspicious “suicide” and I’m not “difficult”, throw me in a pit. How dare that man say that about a grieving family. Absolutely foul.
I can't believe they literally gave him the opportunity to delete things off of this phone. He's 100% guilty
@@tmcurly I hope so!
Yes, it was certainly "corrupted"!
Just look the other way.

The basement door
stayed locked at all times because that's where the man's tools were kept. The charred remains of their beloved dog were located, and even their little yellow parakeet. BIZARRELY NO remains of the children could be located at the scene, whatsoever. Investigators say that the only item missing from the home was a large safe. To this day Gage and Chloie have never been seen or heard from again.
woah😮
Omg!
Wow
That is wild.
OMG THE DISDAIN for the victim's family and the overall attitude of this recorded phone call is FRIGHTENING.
Thats exactly what I thought! "Difficult family" They are trying to figure out what happened to their daughter and hoping to get answers to the many unanswered questions. How dare you calling them difficult, sir.
He told Sarah Sweeney, the second victim, that no one would believe her, she was just the crazy girlfriend.
Welcome to St Louis Missouri 😔
I feel so bad for Grace’s family. I can’t imagine losing her and then having to hear those messages read. Hearing her being so desperate for a man to love her that was awful to her. 💔

"We don't think that wanting to call off a relationship is also motive for a murder"..... have these guys watched ANY TRUE CRIME EVER!? They ALWAYS kill to get out of a relationship! Wtf!?
Jesus Christ. Imagine calling every criminal and letting them know we are on the way. wtf
That 911 call was crazy. ZERO sorrow or emotion in his voice. So weird!
The amount of times “you know” was said on that call is wow
A detective giving a person of interest a heads up about searching their personal property?! What. On. EARTH. Corrupt to the core. And regarding the ring…if someone is going to go through the trouble of making a dupe, wouldn’t they insure the original ring too? So much “oof.”
“They’re a difficult family” as they’re grieving the loss of their family member. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

self-care and healthy boundaries.
thank you so much for your kind words!
the very first red flag for me was "her hands folded" in front (on top?) of her. that's pretty much impossible just from the kick off the gun.
Right ,this is baffling. This poor woman didn't deserve to die, but yikes .
Yeah I agree. So toxic. People that have children should not allow this type of person in their life. Both of them. I was single for 15 years after my ex and I broke up. I had a horrible stepdad and no way would I ever take a chance and put my son through that. I never regretted my decision.
Agreed
Yeah both of them sound nuts. What a wonderful relationship to bring a child into 😮 he told her dozens upon dozens of times he didn’t want her!
JMO
There’s certainly a lot of ‘you knows’ for sure. Very annoying phone conversation!
Unfortunately as someone who has lived my entire life in or around St Louis Missouri, this does not surprise me in the least 😞
As a single mom of 3 pursuing my PhD, thank you for what you said about realizing your own limitations. I have had to let go of certain opportunities recently, and I really appreciate hearing that from you! I admire your drive and accomplishments so much, Stephanie!
Babies being born to be used as any sort of pawn for live and commitment is so common and so extremely wrong.

Why would you ever say "I love you" to someone who says things like that to you? She needed to leave.

That lady insisting she will be married...I mean just by hearing her messages I would file for restraining order..as a minimum
Physically break up first.
He could have gotten away multiple times but he had control and didn't.

he could not have sounded colder if he tried on that 911 call. "my fiance shot herself" with 0 emotion? bro. how
If a woman leaves a partner like this every time he says he doesn't want to be with her, and sweet talks and threaten her to come back immediately afterwards, all she'll ever do is move back and forth.
Hearing the way he talked to Grace was all too familiar. But hearing it made me grateful to have made that difficult decision to leave for good.

Woah!! That was a toxic relationship but she didn't deserve that. That ridiculous that the police didn't investigate the cases properly that should be bare minimum. I can't believe that they called him to tell that they needed his phone for their messages 🤦🏼♀️.
Why can't they just download hers. That's wild. I'm sure the parents would pay for it.
@@gingerlee726 you mean her text messages?
@@teddypeony185 yes they said the reason they wanted pictures of his is because it was too expensive to download her. I mean come on.
@@gingerlee726 Yeah it was ridiculous.
Stephanie!!!! It is okay to acknowledge the time just isn't right for you to do any single thing! Happy to hear any of your content.
I can do lots of things right now, just not deep dives lol
@@StephanieHarlowe ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I think we would all still listen even if you just got on here.Rambling about any little thing LO.L
To say this man didn't receive special treatment from the police is ludacris. The leniency of their investigation is at best negligent, and at worst criminal. I hope the families of these women get the closure they deserve
I sincerely hope you spelled ludicrous as ludacris intentionally. bless luda lol
@@alizalieb3962 my phone auto corrected me lol it was like " bitch you mean LUDAcris" lol so I left it
Haha auto correct was like "Bitch you mean LUDAcris" lol so I left it 😂

One of your biggest and oldest fans! You are a queen and I hope that the struggles you are going through bring joy to radiate and reignite your soul. Thank you for all that you are. Gives me hope and reassurance that I’m not alone and we can do hard things. You got this!! Seriously. Much love.
He sounds like he's talking about her locking her keys in her car or something silly she did in the 911 call. Not that she committed suicide. That 911 call alone was extremely indicative of his thoughts abou her
Wow, the call between the police officer, and the firefighter suspect is so absolutely horrendous and the preferential treatment that he received is ridiculous
It's infuriating
The cop should be fired.
