@@kristensmith6042 don't be sorry, I just remember it from the documentary. I totally agree with the years tending to go into one another after a while
This is one of my favorite songs of her. She wrote it because of the politics going on, because of Trump and people like Marsha Blackburn. That no matter how much she and everyone fights for right, they are still the one pulling the strings, so only the young can save us. Her way of saying, young ones we need your help to make the world a better place from bad people like them, so go vote and have your voice heard ❤
YES! I remember hearing this during the documentary and always wished that it had a VD. A VD would be amazing to this song. I’ve seen a few fan made ones that are pretty awesome they show Trump during the “hands stained in red” and kids protesting at just the right times! I am always amazed by how talented people are! ❤
Taylor Swift, being a woman, being the one brave enough who has not just want to make a difference in her carrier with what she does, but also braking that glass that most artist don’t wanna even speak about, we’ll she has done it; although we the people don’t learn she has done her part. We thought this wouldn’t happen again after seeing so much and this is how we are doing today in our present as a country…. Not good. After this hopefully more of the younger generation put more attention i’m everything and do something about it so they can tell future generations that they don’t have to run anymore because we the people in our nation have done and fought for them not to keep running. Wouldn’t that be nice! (Instead of living in a caos in this complicated topic)
It’s actually about the outcome of the election in Tennessee when she spoke out against the homophobic, governor that voted against the women’s protection act. She was re elected and this was Taylor’s response. It’s all in the Miss Americana documentary.
@@karenm5556 And school shootings, why else would she put the children finding places to hide. Also, the big bad man (trump) and his big bad clan (KKK).
It's actually more about politics in general. Spurred on by the school shootings with no gun control in sight, and the election in Tennessee but also the way politicians, especially male politicians and their "boys clubs" are striving to strip civil rights away. And only the young can stop them. By voting and by running when they are old enough to run for an office.
The big bad man and his big bad clan she is referring to in this song that was released in 2019 is Trump and his republicans, but yes, it´s also about them being gun crazy as the school shootings. During this time Taylor also tweeted directly to Trump calling him out for his racicm and his harmful violent rhetoric.
this song is very relatable for a lot of people after November of this year
Yep.
Taylor is 35 now.Old enough to run for president.
It was Taylor’s reaction to the 2016 election and all the socioeconomic issues going on at that time.
I thought it was the 2018 election in her state of Tennessee?
@ oh - maybe. Sorry, years meld after a while
