- This is a video I would like to share to all the runners out there who like to attain pain free running through practice of abs breathing during run and proper footdstrike with proper form. The ultimate goal is to attain the state of pain free and better run.
This guy looks like he's having too much fun and the scientists look likr they're sick of it lol.
The harder the foot hits the ground, reaction force provides the necessary momentum and force is rate of change of momentum with time , lesser the time of contact equals more force..
I think this idea of hard pound to the ground is more effective on sprinters or milers. In marathon or 10k run i think this one is not ideal
So many information gained in this short video
"Wow I'm like a human cheetah. Look at that - it's magnificent."
Excellent upload. Thanks.
Damn this is gooood.
I wouldn't hit the ground harder on purpose though
and also if you have the trade mill running at the same speed of course all of them will have the same pace. this theory is set to work that way
I thought the same thing. But then again. Is it obvious that two men running the same speed would have the same stride frequency?
Well explained
A better title would be: Running science explained in 301 seconds (pbs)
Need new videos!!
I don't think this is all to it, they may hit the ground at the same pace but some cover more ground then others in one step
At first I thought the coach was Nick Cage.
I do wonder what the numbers say for 10k-42k runners.
What is Name of this Full Documentary!
If you look up the professor in IMDB, you'll see the series is NOVA. From there you can expand it and find his name in the list. NOVA-Season 41 -Ep. 3 "Making stuff faster" The entire episode is on UA-cam; search for it. You're welcome.

Elite runners will run full marathon averaging ~15s 100m. Sprinting my ass..
that's not true. You're saying they are running 4 minute mile pace for 26 miles or 2:30 min/km pace for 42km. Not true, if they did that they would run the marathon in 1 hour 45 minutes...
@@stayontrack well, I did the calculation in my head.. yeah, the pace is 17.1 s/100m for 2hrs marathon.
