    A comment on the operating temperatures for PoE Reolink cameras: All of their PoE cameras have that -10°C~+55°C (14°F~131°F) operating temperature, however Reolink claims this is just the minimum temperature it needs to start the camera. Once it's running there is enough heat to keep the camera going at much lower temperatures. I am in New England and I have hit around -5°F (-20°C) with my Reolink PoE cameras and they have worked perfectly.

      My other Reolink cameras were able to survive winter here also including the Argus. However, some other manufacturers do test certified them at lower temperature. We can hit -20 to - 30 in canada for multiple days in a row. Does it affect the warranty ? In theory, it could. Maybe Reolink doesn’t care also. Does it affect long term reliability? Difficult to say.

      @@TEKDAD All good questions. I'm heading into the 3rd winter on my Reolink PoE cameras so it'll be interesting to see how they hold up over time.

    New Firmware update to the camera allows Auto Spot Light feature.

    No mention that one needs a 30-40 cm hole to run the cables through. My current system is made by unifi, drilled 6mm holes added an rj45 connector and the cable is not visible outside what so ever.

    You only showed the audio received from the camera's microphone. I'm wondering if the sound quality output (from the Reolink app to the camera's speaker) is better than the E1 outdoor. Have you tested it?

      You are right. I forgot to show it. Can’t compare with the E1 but it is just ok.

    When will this be on the market? Also will it work with the standard reolink 8ch NVR?

      It’s not clear what’s happening with this product to tell you the truth. I don’t even know myself anymore.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing. I don't think any of the POE cameras are compatible with cloud storage though.

    • @TEKDAD
      @TEKDAD  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I think you are right. I thought it was possible to connect the NVR to the cloud but I should have checked. Anyhow, to hold to buy this is not to use the cloud to save money.

      If you use the cameras with a compatible NVR you can connect the NVR to services like Dropbox. Giving you the ability to store backup recordings to the cloud.

    Nice review. Est-ce que les 4 petites lumières sont assez puissantes pour éclairer légèrement l'entrée du garage? J'ai présentement le modele RLC-820A de Reolink (Turret) et je compte remplacer un des 8 cameras avec celle ci juste pour mon "Driveway". Merci.

    • @TEKDAD
      @TEKDAD  2 роки тому

      Merci. Légèrement, je pense que oui mais ça remplace pas un flood light. Comme j’ai dit dans le vidéo, les lumières ne s’éteignent pas (en absence de mouvement), soyez sûr que c’est ça que vous voulez ;)

      @@TEKDAD Merci pour votre réponse. Je pense que c'est exactement ce que je recherche. J'ai un "driveway" sur le coté qui est un peu sombre pendant la nuit. Le fait que la camera puisse faire une petite lumière dès que la nuit tombe serait parfait pour nous. Vous pouvez voir la position de ma camera actuellement dans ma vidéo "montreal en lumiere dans les 8 premieres secondes. J'utilise présentement une lumiere solaire LED accroché à ma cloture pour avoir plus de lumiere dans ce coin.
      Est-ce que vous etes toujours satisfait de la qualité video et physique de cette camera? Mes 8 cameras Reolink "Turret style" ont passé l'hiver canadian (-25) sans probleme cette hiver. Ca fait 1 an que j'ai ce systeme 4K & NVR, j'avais un autre systeme (Annke brand 1080p analog DVR) pendant plus de 5 ans et aucun probleme non plus. Merci encore

    Can this camera be setup where the lights come on when there is a person in the area than turn off after? I have a 16ch NVR to hook up too. PLus some other cameras in the area with Infrared which could help out in the darker area. I would think we can turn off the lights on all the time to turn on with movement. Let me know if that is so....Thanks

      Not at the time of review. I don’t know if a firmware update fixed that.

    I wish I would have seen this video before I bought it. Because leaving the spotlight on all night is a no go for me. The camera is not much better than the RLK8-510-A which are cheaper. I know how much a hassle it is to return the camera to them so I am just going to put it in a place where I only need daytime video. I could never get the two speakers to work.

    • @kcbroncohater

    • @kcbroncohater
      @kcbroncohater 2 роки тому

      @@zht9 The problem is that when the spot light is off you can't see anything. I can't leave the spot light on all night. I bought the RLK8-510B4-A set with four cameras and a recorder. The cameras (510b) have infra red lights that you can't see but give you a great view at night with very little light. It's the same in the daytime as the others.

      @@zht9 The RLC-810A would be better for video in the dark with the infrared lights. But I am not sure the price jump is worth it.

      @@kcbroncohater I went to IPTC forum and I am thinking of getting a camera with better image sensors now.
