  • Join me, a fellow Northern Irish gal who is a life and business Coach and a London based Interior Designer as we navigate the tricky subject of Imposter Syndrome and how to overcome/embrace it (yes, I said 'embrace'!).
We take a look at how it affects women and in particular Interior Designers, and offer insights into its origins and how it manifests itself into our lives today.

I didn't realize I was suffering from imposter syndrome to the 9th power. Your guest states that we as women will take one more class or think we have to do one more before we get started and that is where I am. This is a career change for me and I have completed my online interior design course and two home staging courses and set up many parts of the backend work for my business, however have not pulled the trigger.

@@marrishamcfoulon6234 It must be disheartening for you to come to the realisation that you're currently experiencing the affects of Imposter Syndrome (fear) but it's completely normal, especially as someone who is a career-changer (having been there myself) as the stakes are so high - you're probably feeling so much pressure to 'succeed'. It's important to have a good understanding of the principles of Interior Design to underpin and enrich your current knowledge but it's counter-productive to use courses as a means to avoid taking action to establish and grow your business. You probably already know what steps you need to take from today to pull that trigger - why don't you sit down and make a list of the things you need to do and make them timebound (attach deadlines) to help you stay focused?
