Im currently trying to navigate the best option for replacement parts and combinations with 3rd party gaskets. Which vehicle was it installed in? I've heard that gasket issues occur with the 2012-2013 Jeep Grend Cherokees.
@@tinpea this car was 2017 dodge ram 1500 3.6l. I believe Felpro sells a gasket set for it. When I removed both oem and dorman parts nothing was wrong with cooler it self just gaskets were too flat. Good luck
@@hoost3056 yes the cooler it self was fine, i wouldn’t recommend using sealant here the orings sets in place while torquing the bolts not sure how the sealant or RTV can perform properly here. Oring set is sold separately. Good luck. You could also use the OEM cooler and only replace gaskets and orings.
Wow crazy how much they charged for that housing. Mopar dealer in Scarborough ON sells it online for $226Cad
@@leecrumble3921 this is interesting and yes crazy that same dealer sells for significantly different prices. Thanks for sharing.
good information update
Thanks

@@tinpea i have another video showing which gasket failed in this car.
If the gaskets failed buy new better gaskets
This is crazy 😮 at this point he should have just gotten new gaskets
So, the Dorman unit is fine but the gaskets failed. Can sealant be used on the gaskets, and was it a defective o-ring?
I use sealant on everything. I’m sure sealant would make a difference and using the oem gasket set would too.

One new "O" Ring is way cheaper than buying a whole new part .... Duh 🙄 👎 Epic Failure 💯
Yes owner insisted to replace the whole thing
Watch the whole video before you make goober comments, the owner wanted a new Oem Cooler regardless of the O Ring..
