Ok as a male singer I just have to say that y’all don’t even understand how difficult You Tied Up My Heart is. Like even high tenors are gonna be worn out within the first few minutes of the song, and then the goddamn ending. I know people complain that Jeff writes too many songs for himself that don’t sound very good live but I have to hand it to the guy. For as hard as the songs are, he still pulls them off pretty well.
For real. He sings like a mezzo-soprano or a counter-tenor. But you can tell that with Black Friday he’s really refined and improved his higher voice. It sounds a LOT better
Only based on vocal difficulty pal. But yes it would be harder, most songs are harder with choreography, because you not only sing but dance as well, it makes sure that you must have proper breath support. For difficult dancing slow choreography breathing isn't a challenge.

I feel like part of the reason Jeff has so many leading parts in TGWDLM is because he made the songs so difficult to perform that he didn’t want to force anyone to have too many vocal challenges.
I hate the fact that I know enough about musical theory to only just understand what this is talking about but not enough to pick these things out on my own.
Some people really don’t understand how exhausting a musical TGWDLM is. I don’t even have an experience to talk on (as in I haven’t worked on TGWDLM specifically) But seeing the songs, choreo, and characters… Jesus the most exhausting thing but so obviously the most fun as well. I mean just look at everyone during Inevitable, they are FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES.

i think too many people complain about jeff often going for his falsetto and not having a perfectly polished voice. part of what makes his voice so interesting n fun to hear is the range and inconsistencies from a live performance. some people just hear an album and think "this is what this person needs to sound like All Of The Time" and that is... very much not how voices work. mayhaps im just biased cuz his voice n humour tickle my brain idk

I should clarify- I'm an instrumentalist! I play flute, alto saxophone, and violin, so I know theory through that, and while it's different from singing, most of the theory and terms are identical!

I know Paul's actor isn't the strongest singer but I really like his singing voice. It just has that unique feel to it that I enjoy so much.
