I feel Stew shouldn't be in the IGL position to begin with. Let him be entry or a rifler etc. rather than let him call the shots and lead his team. I think it distracted him from his game and his performance reflects that too.
Totally agree. In c9, there is Tarik to IGL, and in liquid, there is nitro as IGL. And at least in the late liquid era, Fallen does IGL. Even in old C9, although he is the IGL, he HAS to listen to others like nothing and ska since he is too young at that time. Also, he should be support/lurker player accompanied with a tons of player who is a top rifler. Ska, Auti, Tarik and Rush in major winning C9, Elige, Twistzz and NAF in liquid. Now take a look at their team, only Brezhe is a pass, Cerq is terrible, other two is too old.
Hes just not a good enough aimer to be an entry and not good enough to be a star rifler, he would have to be a support then, which i think matches him even less
personally to me, stewie has never been an igl player. hes always been a fragger. i think his attitude of wanting to win helps him be more successful as a fragger than as a captain who has to go down with the ship when something goes wrong. i firmly believe that hes fit for eg, its just somebody else has to step up and take his role of igl, so that stew could perform at his best.
I love Stewie, but he is a professional esports athlete that lacks significant levels of professionalism. It doesn't matter that he wants to go back and fix things, start now. Find out what you aren't doing, find out how you are most negatively affecting the team and org, and take steps to fix it. Or he will say the same thing in another 12 months with a different team.
He actually does lack professionalism. His toxicity towards his teammates especially during games is so terrible. He also resorted to self-defence and excuses on his livestream rather than taking accountability. I really wish he can reform. Even as Kobe Bryant said,"it's not about you as the teammate, it's about the team". You have to find out what the problem is and fix it. That's why you are the IGL. He has to get up and put in the work.
There are a lot of reasons that Dimitri is my favorite host on the channel, but probably the biggest one is that you can tell that he genuinely cares about the scene and the individuals that he's talking about. The endboard clip shows that well...not even wanting to make a joke or a plug or show bloopers, just acknowledging the sadness of the situation he just covered. He remains professional while letting his passion for the game shine through. Well presented and much appreciated as always. Bottom line for the topic: Stewie has always had a hot head and needs to get it together. That's not a criticism or a judgement, it's just a fact. If he's going to continue to be a part of esports, a list of accomplishments doesn't mean much if he can't demonstrate that he's going to be able to work well with another team.
Stewie means well, but he isnt noticing how toxic he is. This is the same reason Cloud9 fell apart after the major, because stewie clashed with the others. He needs to change his attitude and be a better leader.
bruh no offense but all of u brain dead remember s1mple when he was in c9 and before that ? and now ? stew just need to find his ideal team and start cooperation and i can tell hes one of the best support players well as a leader sure he lacks some experience but dont underestimate a pro player especially a talented one like him
It feels like Stewies story is the talented but toxic youngster who ended up winning before really maturing, and now that he’s not winning it’s only compounded issues. It’s sad because his charisma and magnetism is undeniable, but I don’t see a path laid for him to succeed now without taking a major step back to square 1 or becoming a full time steamer.
lol thats alot of words to try to pump up a loser who can't seem to be socially able to atleast set aside his differences and work with people he has to. These pros man...some socially maladaptive freaks. Its just a couple bad words with a teammate, can he really not handle himself with his own team over petty words?
@@Jammert Sinatraa was helped a lot by a his coach to mínimize/eliminate the toxicxity. Also I think the toxicity sinatraa brought and toxicity stewie brings are probably a lil different from watching and knowing both their personalities. Like others have said Stevie just needs a mentor or someone to help him
Malek is one of the most humble guys out there and fighting with him is above me. Stewie should just drop the idea of being an IGL and focus on his game and attitude. We all know what can IGLing do to other players such as Niko so if you're not cutout made for it don't do it. Stew also brought bad atmosphere in liquid when fallen was there and eventually that project failed too.
It’s hard for a team to have someone who’s uncoachable and has attitude issues. Props for him stating that he does have attitude issues but it’s a huge risk to have him on any team. And that’s coming from someone who loves the way he plays. Hope for the best for this guy
Yea and no one gives a fucking shit about his attitude and uncoachabilty if he plays like an animal. Plenty of professional sports players have that same attitude but the moment they cooldown they dont have that leverage to use to keep acting like that.
Attitude issues and he's shit. Nice mix there. The leaked logs imply he's going to Valorant but he's way too shit at that game so he'll become a streamer like Wardell told him to.
Stew has shot himself in the foot, the biggest thing that stuck out to me was “I’m willing to do anything to win” immediately followed up with “I know my attitude can be an issue”. There’s one solution man, don’t let your attitude take over and actually try to work with the people whose entire job is to help you win.
The thing is "I know my attitude can be an issue" doesn't contract "I'm willing to do anything to win." His mindset to win causes him to not cooperate with teammates and coaches because maybe he thinks they're wrong. I'm not saying he's in the right for being uncooperative but don't tie the two statements together
@Max you know nothing about pro players then since most top players have been called toxic lul just look at simple dudes been the best player for years and has been kicked out of multiple teams before navi and even now he goes a little far when talking about his teammates
@Max no to mention that most players are picked up as teens so no emotional intelligence isnt a requirement and if you look at any esports scene you'd see that
All imma say is that every time stew has been igl the team suffered, but whenever they get another player to igl the team starts to win like c9 and liquid
@@MatheusTurossi Exactly lol, I'm pretty sure if Stewie fixed his attitude issue he would then trust the new igl/coach and maybe he could perform decently
He was the one doing the mid round calls for TL when nitr0 was IGL. He was the one doing midround calls on C9 when they won their major. There's a reason why teams always kept Stewie and removed the IGL. He was always the one who made the crucial calls for the 2 best teams in NA CSGO history, one of which was the best team that NA has ever seen and one of the most dominant teams across any region. nitr0 did the "strats" if you could call it that as they were literally just shooting people in the head and winning while Stewie was the one actually doing calls in the mid round. Although Stewie might not have been the IGL in name when either of the teams were successful, he was most definitely the leader of the team. Now whether he can do that better from an actual IGL position or when he's just a rifler or entryfragger and doesn't have the same amount of pressure on him as he would as the IGL to do those calls is an entirely different thing, but it remains a fact that IGL or not, he was most of the brain behind the 2 best NA teams. If I were to guess it's that it's exactly that. He just works a bit better when the onus isn't on him to do the calling and he has more freedom and can call when he feels it's right rather than being expected to call in every scenario.
6:15 and 7:53 This is when I felt afraid for stewie that he’s pulling himself down and being too self-critical. I don’t want to speak for the guy, so i can only describe what I got from watching that, and that is it feels like he’s carrying so much unnecessary burden for himself to resolve alone. It’s one thing to blame everyone for all your shortcomings (which i’m not accusing him of), but blaming yourself for everything can be toxic too. That’s why organizations are very willing to get behind great talent like him. Financial gain aside, they also know that it will be destructive for everyone-the player, the team, and the management-if he would employ the mentality that he has to do everything and solve everything, especially in his role. I can only hope that he continues to mature as a professional and that he cuts himself some slack. He has to realize that he has a team around him that will catch him when he falls but it’s also a give and take. Be open to learning from the people around you. Whether he maintains his role in the team or not, it’s an important mindset that will only make him better.
@@frankb.8071 Well he has a point. At some point in time „playing another game“ becomes a to big of a distraction from the game you are getting paid for by an Org. If you are a pro-player and put more time into a different game, it kind of shows where his current mentality is at. Just imagine a pro basketball player struggling in the League and at the same time playing more American Football than BBall.
He needs to decide if he wants to go pro in Val or CS, either is good but he can't split his focus and play both. What, is he gonna start adding Valorant strats to their CS matches? lol
If you have time and want to learn more about the story, Richard Lewis has 2 videos talking about EVY's interview and Stewie's response (each video is 1-hour long tho).
may be nothing, but in fl0m's stream yesterday (6/23) he said "let me know when you need a stand in...ill be available for you soon my boy" when talking about fl0m's team Mythic and the potential the freakazoid wouldn't be able to play that day. The timestamps in that stream are 7:48:24 and 7:48:38 for the two different chats he sent. To me that sounds like he could be leaving EG, hence the "be available soon". IDK maybe it is just nothing and I am reading too much into it
@@raymunddiether4174 It might be better if they focused on plays, plans, and teamwork the frags will come but they need something to change, if they work on those things they will be a lil better at least.
He said that he acknowledged that he didn't win any map, but he was playing Valorant instead of scrimming like other pro do in order to get better, so if he complains because there is a coach that is pushing the team more then there's a big problem.
@Garen A.P Just like nobody asked you for your opinion? Which isn't even an original opinion. I see it parroted by edgy wanna be's everywhere. But thanks for taking the time to reply and remember your own advice next time you feel you have something to say on the internet. Don't be a hypocrite.
Stewie is an experienced professional player who acts likes he's still a teen in his first year of playing. He is not able to take criticism and he won't be able to go far anymore, doesn't matter what team he plays for. Put him on a top EU team and he would quit within a week, with how strict everything is over here.
It’s not as simple as that. Why would someone who knows he’s better than the coaches teaching him listen to their opinions? People at that level of skill always come off as arrogant because they struggle to trust the opinions of those lesser than them.
@@isaacmurphy6703 then why could better players like niko and hunter trust malek. Blade was a shit player but he is one of the biggest reasons navi are top 2 in the world right now and the best players listen to him without a single doubt. Stewie sucks and should not be foubting what a coach tells him
You know what's common between these 2? He wasn't IGL there. And that's the big problem. He isn't a leader. He plays very good, but he can't handle the pressure of being IGL.
@@anthony.esper21 Not everyone has that, stewie has always been fragger. I think he is trying to step up and be an IGL and still be that fragger but he can't. He def needs an IGL to come in and let him do his thing.
na isn't going to get better because there's no critical mass of gen z players. just from viewing mm statistics from 2021 alone it revealed that na has less players in all of their servers combined compared to just one perfect world mm server, and csgo isn't exactly big in china. it shouldn't have been this small, but it is, and it's not going to change. even the few that play csgo that want to get better only do it so they can get their faceit level 10 badge of honor and then uninstall to play other games.
Imagine if this was any other normal company, ur standing in front of the CEO, and he tells u to go do this or that. And ur response to him is "nah bruh fk off". Im sure u'd be packing up all ur stuff and escorted out of the building lmao.
Stewie has my sympathies. I mean, seeing a video like this about yourself must sting pretty damn hard. :( He should just get to be a lurker and do his thing. He's good at that, but he's not the one to hold responsibility for the team.
You sympathize with snake Stewie? Shows what human being you are the same snake like Stewie0k he literally admitted to everything on steam and people still support him
He spread toxicity in the team and say not to hold responsibility for the team is bs, Imagine being competetive and hate to lose and then try to be emotional on stream to gain sympathy is not the attitude of a person willing to lose
He is a petty and childish egomaniac that does not deserve any sympathy at all. He has been like this for years because people have allowed it. Now that the community starts to hold him accountable, he goes in full self-defence mode and tries to play the sympathy card. His response is also full of hilarious contradictions and disgusting sport ethics. The fact Mr. "I will do anything to win" even admits that he didn't give a fuck at pro league after they were out shows how little fucks he gives about the integrity of the game. That is not profenssionalism. He is a shame to both na cs and cs as a whole, and the scene would be much better without him. Not even to mention the starbucks situiation. He needs to grow the fuck up. I have sympathies for evy and malek, who were fired because of him.
There's a saying that just because you're good at sales, doesn't mean you're good at teaching sales to others. I think even one glance at Stewie and hearing comms shows that he's a great player and knows it, and has some attitude problems. Time and time again, different esports, sports, and even jobs show that just because someone is good at something, it doesn't mean they should lead a team. Rather, it takes a good leader to bring the best out in everyone. I think Stewie thought he was up to the challenge, and maybe in a different setting he would be, but it's unfortunate that it didn't go that way. It's the steps he takes next that will really effect his standing or how he's seen by the community
Internet doesn't forget, Stewie already has that reputation of the toxic guy who undermines the projects he is part of. I truly respect him since the C9 era, but I hope he changes himself and becomes a better dude
I don’t doubt in the slightest that they over exaggerated how Stewie acted. I think that they were a bit too big for their britches and put their planned overhaul over forming a cohesive team relationship first. So they treated him like a problem child, ignored his input, and then claimed to be the victims when both were probably acting like children, or salty ex’s.
It seems like that assistant coach came onto the team with expectations that things were going to be the same as the other teams he’s coached. Traditionally when coaching a team it’s better to come in with an open mind and adapt to the team rather than expecting the team to adapt to you. From the way he makes it sound, he overheard someone say that their vision of a coach is someone who doesn’t call the shots and he immediately took that and decided that this is some faulty American mindset Of wanting to be surrounded by yes men. That’s a huge leap to make and not to mention an incorrect one because by definition the Igl is the shot caller. The coach’s job is to oversee the players and their improvement, not to dictate their every move or decision.
Yes, unless the strategy you want to implement is successful in 9 out of 10 other systems. EG needed a change to pick up some wins, so maybe they should've changed the system. Not changing the system/ refusal to change, results in disappointing results
"I will do anything to win" stops calling mid game. Actively ruins the team and coaching staff with his ego. Grinds 20 Valorant games a day. Pulls out of comp and EG sends Party Astronauts instead. Yeah, sounds like a real winner. Richard Lewis has a fantastic breakdown on this man-child.
100 percent! My thoughts exactly. He is just an arrogant child who likes to make excuses for himself rather than actually being honest and addressing his own issues. His arrogance steams from very early success in his career. Just like Sumail from Dota 2.
stewie adressing this felt like timado story 3 or 4 years ago, both of them felt like they're the problem, timado rn is in a good spot i hope the same for stewie
I know exactly what he's experiencing. I was an absolute monster on COD and LOL. I got to top 1000 leaderboards on COD, and then hit high in League. And it wasn't even fun anymore. I was an absolute shit to my friends. My girlfriend at the time learned how to play league with me, and I actually raised my voice at her for a bad play and I realized how toxic I was. It went in hand in hand. I took a LONG step back, now when I play these kinds of games. I will raise people up, I will never trash talk. I will still win a lot because I'm a fucking beast. But I will always compliment my team on a good play. it comes from a better place. It was madness the way I used to feel playing these games.
the guy's under a lot of pressure. i can't imagine the weight he's shouldered onto himself; that doesn't justify his slip ups entirely, but i think it's worth considering. hell, there have been so many times i've reflected on during my first full-time job where i've snapped or yelled at coworkers/patients. imo, this is an emotional situation that was taken to social media for whatever reason and the crowd is asking Stew impossible questions, whereas he's forced to answer the Catch 22 i haven't watched him play extensively but objectively, if i were a coach, i wouldn't let him go. I'd give him the time and space he needs but also guide him along the way so when Stew pops off again, it'd still be with EG and this slips under the rugs
the problem at eg is that if you break down each individual player there is no real option for a leader apart from stew, who isint even a leader in the first place, all of them have the ability to be power houses in the server when pointed in the right direction with the right support. you can see this with the likes of shox now, he was a power house, a player that can turn a game, but the moment he turns to IGL and has to think about 5 + players the whole game that dies, same with Niko when he IGL at faze EG need a true IGL and to drop someone to house that, otherwise it will be early exits and dropping from qualifiers for this team
really hoping (and believing) he can bounce back and improve would also be great to see another instance of people pivoting in the right direction and proving the public wrong
He can't he doesn't even go to tournaments because he knows he's too shit and just grinds valorant all day now. Which he can't even get to the highest MM rank in because he's trash at it. Stream or nothing, only choices.
Stew been playing Valorant too much recently. He talks about being shit but doesn't want to improve in the game he's shit in. I doubt he'll go anywhere from here in CSGO. NA is a dead scene and only failure awaits unless reform occurs, and nobody in EU would be willing to host such a player.
I think the best part is that Stewie acknowledges that the claims are true (even if they are potentially exaggerate) and he still has places to improve. It is so much better than him trying to fight the accusations or claim them to be false. It shows a level of maturity and humility that a lot of the esports scene seems to lack and I respect him greatly for that.
Bro I didn’t follow up the whole thing but from his stream clips included in this video I can only see ego and anger, I don’t see much him taking his own accountability, yea he kinda admit it but u know, the tone that he speaks, it’s like “yea fuck me, I don’t care”
@@theawesomeshulk6412 His job is to compete... it doesn't matter what game he chooses to compete in (A majority of the current Valorant esport scene is comprised of pros who moved over from other games).
i can understand is competitive mind set of "I WANT TO WIN!!!!" but that can be a good thing and a bad thing. its a double edge sword. i have the same thing in any game i want to win but of course for him hes at a professional level so he has to win at all cost but for me if i see that my team is going to lose i get angry then chill down and just say "oh well". i will play my best to the fullest and move on to the next match. i hope he can fix his mistakes and move on better as a man and as a professional esports player.
He is a pretty good caller but not an igl, the reason is because he gets emotional about the game and you can't have your igl being the first to mald. He should just give the leader role and play entry like he used to
Stewie used to grind, HARD. Then he won his major. Things started dipping. Then Liquid had their summer run. Then things started dipping. If we look at Stewie's numbers from when he was signed to C9 and on, we'd probably see a rise until the major, then a steady decline. The man's not motivated, regardless of what he says. He plays Valorant, but he doesn't even appear to be grinding that game outside of just playing a lot of matches. It's sad to see. Twistzz definitely NA GOAT with all this shit.
He played valorant once every 5 months and people say he's grinding valorant rather than cs lmao. I honestly think people are just better now, teams are better, strats improved, etc. I think other than attitude stew probably just couldn't keep up.
The first step to solving a problem to recognize that one exists. The second step is to identify it. If Stewie knows what the problems are, it is only a matter of fixing them. Unfortunately, that is the hardest step. Regardless, attitude is certainly a fixable problem.
I feel like whatever Stewie was saying during his stream, he has this attitude that he was trying to push away everybody. It is ok to feel stuck and have a bad performance, that is why players need a coach and analyst, he just didn't even try to work with teammates, that is his biggest issue.
All said the same things to simple many years ago. So the point is we as a spectators just need to wait and see them growth or collapsing.. and all that is depend to the player itself. Because with an attitude like that and didnt reflect for it, that will be difficult to change. Like when we are sick, we need to realize that we are sick and go to the doctor for treatment.
If he ever moves to valorant from or because of this, it'll just prove what EVY said entirely about him and he'll be dubbed as a "coward", don't get me wrong, but that's kind of a dumb move, just because you failed at something miserably, means you can just say "screw it" and leave the issue and join a new scene entirely, I was a fan of stew one time, but due to his attitude, which reminds me of old classic toxic s1mple, I kinda got lost interest in him and this issue proved why, I don't have any sort of hatred for him or trying to talk shit about him, it's just what it is, but I do hope he can redeem himself one day. I believe he can still perform like in his past teams, he just needs more time, confidence and TRUST the people around him a little bit more.
I think it's highly unreasonable to listen to only one side and blame Stew. Here are the facts, - Stew took all the blame for playing badly this year at every stage. - Stew has been known to bring a winning mindset wherever he goes. He did it in C9, MIBR and Liquid. - Malek has never really won much and he had Niko, Hunter and KennyS. - The G2 system was a failure and if it's true that Malek tried to implement that, EG don't have Niko. Besides all of this, the worst player on EG by far was Cerq. Brehze looks like a shell of himself. Cerq has been so bad as of late that his game was in question before this EG experiment even began. You can't have Auti and Rush playing better when they have literally been away from CS longer than you.
Yeah winning mentality is wanting a yes man as a coach. And also playing 20 valorant games a day is necessary for a winner of course. If players like niko and hunter could listen to malek just fine for a year why should a washed NA player have any problem with it? A winner mentality would try to fix shit if things where not working. Did he ever do that? Fuck no he disregarded the coach even when they were shit. He gave up in the middle of a tournament so it’s just bullshit that he says he is a winner and has a winner mentality. The g2 system got the team to finals and where is EG with just stewie as the leader? Bottom of every tournament.
You know people it’s bad when pros literally are saying valorant takes no skill and it’s hard to be consistent, no spray patterns, like if something like a spray pattern was in valorant you would see more consistency among pros, but that’s not the case and sprays are literally rng after like 6-8 shots, when I played val let’s say I got a 5 man spray down, it’s not because I can aim, it’s because I got lucky, next time I could be in the same situation and do the same pattern and not get the spray down, If valorant had a thing of spray patterns you could really see who put the work in, in regards to aiming
I could be wrong but what I see is that stew is one of those players that can perform well by their own instincts which is why whenever he's had his best performances it's been whenever he has the roles that let him play for himself,to be the leader you have to have some sort of system and stew isn't that kind of player
His lack of communication makes sense. With his level of skill it must be difficult to listen to the opinions of those lesser than him. But that’s just lack of experience as a leader and lack of respect for the coaches he barely knows.
"his level of skill". Which have seemingly vanished. If you have "his level of skill" then he should have 1+ rating even when he is an IGL. Era of IGLs not fragging is long gone. He can barely get 0.55 rating let alone 1+
What level of skill lmao? His peak wasn't a top player and his current isn't even worthy of the pro scene. The kid has old S1mple/Niko's ego and peak stewie's never been even close to someone close to someone close to as good as either of those players. And here's a news flash- Even though S1mple and Niko are the best and one of the best players in CS history, neither of them could win anything with their shitty attitudes. S1mple's only started winning because he worked on himself. He did that because he'll do anything to win. That thing Stewie lied about. Stewie will do anything to win unless it involves not bottomfragging 20 low ranked games of Valorant MM every day lmfao. Get this kid out the scene ASAP, he doesn't deserve it. Get some fresh talent a salary with this guy's fat paychecks.
main problem with stewie's attitude, he said it himself he only cares about winning. he does not care about what is most important which is the process, not the result.
Some people are just not built to be an IGL. Stew's found success as a major champion and grand slam winner NOT being an IGL. Maybe it just really means he's meant to be rifler and nothing more.
Dude is very clearly overstressed, no wonder... Anyone would get heated up eventually with that amount of stress and having that constant feeling of "people watching" and pressure. Just let him do his thing which is FRAGGING! Let the man focus on his game without having to stress about leading the whole team.
GG stewie... you finally understood your job 5:40 I cant believe this guy was the leader... no call from the IGL... in pro league? What the actual fuck this guy doing here? "I will win in any other condition, I will do anything to win" => kinda redflag
it's really the team management fault for putting a kid who cannot control his emotion to be the team leader. Being a good player vs being a good leader are two completely different things. Same thing with being the best player doesn't make you the best coach. A leader's most important role is to lead the team through adversity and tough challenges to get the W, and to be able to do that, a leader must have the ability to control his emotion, stay calm and collected so he can come up with an effective counter moves. i used to pug with and against stewie many times long ago when he was just in esea-im. He stood out to me because kid was playing 200+ hrs a month, and was extremely toxic every single game and was quite mentally unstable. Someone with such attitude can never gets respect from people. He's totally unfit to be a leader.
Stewie is extremely competitive, he does have to learn how to tone it down though. But I watched that stewie stream and I do understand a lot of where he comes from. Stewie just has to realize he isn't on a "prestigious team" like liquid anymore. These issues didn't flare up in liquid because it was already a structured org, stewie isn't made to rebuild an org from scratch, let alone IGL that team. That's why he had so much more respect for fallen back in liquid. I think content creation is the best option for him, whether that be in csgo or valorant. Wardell is right when he says valorant esports is a joke aside from optic, the game is just way too inconsistent.
Wardell couldn't get away with just OPing everywhere and slowly fell off as the game progressed. Also there is a big difference between randomness and new content/meta shakeups. The game itself isn't random, it just hasn't been let settle for years to where people have refined it to the level of CS.
@@sethyoder7996 I worded that badly, I meant the game as an esport is very random. Which is bound to happen when you try and make an objective based game heavily surrounded by abilities. It won't ever reach the level of stability and structure that csgo has, simply because a game with abilities (and a company constantly breaking the game with abilities) will always be more or less random.
Honestly i get stewies feelings, but what frustrates me is that most of the stuff he is naming is litterally shit i had to learn the first WEEK i played in a lvl 6 EU Amateur team. "I dont know why i cant find concistency" first of all, you dont fully need to, you are an IGL rn, and its your job to make sure that the others are getting as much as possible. Second of all, maybe ask the fucking coach who no doubt has tons of ideas and probably even the solution. As an IGL you are never the "dictator" of the team. Sure you do your calls during the game, but its the coaches role to steer the team to victories.
i mean if someone on the team makes a bad play u cant tell him oh its fine u tried because he might do the same play again... if you cant tell your teammate that was not good play and do not do that again, team where players cant take criticism is doomed to fail if players get tilted by criticism they are not for big stage competitions and should think about retiring, me being on a top 4 cod2 team in a world which was never big as csgo i think i have experience being on a pro level team and know how team environment should be. if player got tilted by criticism we just benched them, player who got tilted during a match caused our strategy and teamplay to fall like dominos. and if there is an argument during a match other teammates are there to tell them or myself to shut up and prepare for next round because you can always win a match no matter the score on the board
As someone who watched Stevie’s whole stream, he definitely didn’t just “contextualize” it, he defended some parts of the attacks on his and EGs character that Evy dramatized. Lazy reporting
Idk why everyone is shitting on stew. I appreciate how he is being honest and taking accountability to how bad he performed and was as a person. Does it mean it was ok that he was toxic? No, but what can he do about the past. you live and you learn.
the problem is that it is a reoccurring problem, it isn't the first time. What is the point of apologizing, just to do it again the next time. I don't hate the guy, but these are high paid professionals, all the other people on the team and staff team put a ton of effort in to make this work, just for him to contribute to the demise of the team.
@@thymn4384 He simply shouldn't be IGL, and the team should have someone come in to fill that role. This isn't a decision he should even be making, just like in sports, the captain is decided by management.
All respect for Stew out the window. Should have stuck up his strengths. Just because you have good game sense and spectacular accolades, doesn't mean you suddenly become an IGL after half a decade. He's simply not fit for it. Keep entry fragging and cause chaotic situations where the opposing team would make more mistakes. If you can't say yes to go for a coffee on Malek's second day, after butting heads, then it is a travesty of a potential glorious storyline for Yung Stew that he himself ruined
Sometimes wanting to win creates a toxic attitude like it should be have fun first cause everyone knows you play better when you just have fun and aren’t all serious about every little thing like you can win games while having fun and the environment is more relaxed and less stressful cause of a competitive player
well if stew wants to win. he has to listen to what his coaches say and if stew really isn't challenging himself than why even play at that level. you will never get better if you don't challenge yourself.
if he wasn't the leader/captain things could've been different. he's not full time dedicated to CS:GO anymore. if he loses games/matches, he probably finds game like valorant to make him feel better (because he isn't at the top there yet so he's probably mismatching with weaker opponents) you really can't criticize him anymore because he has achievements to back it up.. but once you're done, you're done.
"they know winning everything to me" uff ... I think Winning is nice especially in sports but i really hope thats not a general stance in his rl. Its a dangerous mindset
it confuses me profoundly, always, that coaches are held on a certain pedestal. not saying coaches are not leaders, but i would argue that only those who have proven themselves repeatedly. across various games, new coaches were brought onto teams, expecting to be the big boss. whenever they couldn't cut it, they blame it on the players, who were actually on the ground, earning their own respect. if anything, coach and player should be equals, if not that coaches are actually just assistants, especially in sports that are relatively young.
I know hes still young but last time i remebered him in his stream that he wont play cs if he isnt with his team. Hes been fed up playing val why because we know its a fresh game there a different side when your a pro in esport either you train with or without so that you know what your weakest and strongest form i know stew has big ego and he has a big pride but remeber his just an ordinary person maskes mistakes. For me give him a chance to lift the EG roster, change his play anything that can improve the environment.
Don’t switch up on Stewie he knows what he is doing it worked in the past and the way stewie Igl’s probably is a lot different then what the higher ups in EG want and you can’t change a person specially characteristics that got him so far

A lot of people talking bad about Stew, I just don't think the IGL spot is the role for him... Look at previous teams... Nitro, Tarik, Fallen, etc. He played better.
Super interesting! I've been following this story like any other NA CS fanboy, and the one thing I've noticed is the difference in apparent bias from the folks doing the reporting... Guys like Richard Lewis are VERY critical of Stew and his role in this drama, while @theScore seems to lean towards "benefit of the doubt, he seems remorseful, etc." ...... Watching this video, I want to be on Stewie's side. Watching many others, it's apparent that he's immature and toxic. WHAT'S THE TRUTH?!?! >:O

I don’t know his history or the csgo scene but I’ll say when I was watching a Tarik stream he refused to comm to his teammates during Val matches. Like stuff that was easy to say and would save their life while also kinda making fun of them so....
Now take a look at their team, only Brezhe is a pass, Cerq is terrible, other two is too old.
its clearly too stressful, which is completely understandable
Issue is he’s got the niko syndrome of being too vocal so it just won’t work imo
he said that himself during the stream

Or he will say the same thing in another 12 months with a different team.
lol have you seen his valorant account he’s been grinding that man dont gaf
You actually don’t know anything why say something like this
@@yugiownage why do you assume that?
@@yugiownage stewie plays 18 games of valorant a day, I really don’t think he cares
He needs to change his attitude and be a better leader.
he shouldnt be a leader
That's the main point here. He should NEVER EVER try to be an IGL
can you tell me the info about clashed with the others in C9?
Only thing I could tell you is that Tarik rush and stewie all kinda has play style clashes after the Boston major
bruh no offense but all of u brain dead remember s1mple when he was in c9 and before that ?
and now ? stew just need to find his ideal team and start cooperation and i can tell hes one of the best support players well as a leader sure he lacks some experience but dont underestimate
a pro player especially a talented one like him
It feels like Stewies story is the talented but toxic youngster who ended up winning before really maturing, and now that he’s not winning it’s only compounded issues.

Sounds like kjearbye except he was actually a nice guy
Malek is one of the most humble guys out there and fighting with him is above me. Stewie should just drop the idea of being an IGL and focus on his game and attitude. We all know what can IGLing do to other players such as Niko so if you're not cutout made for it don't do it. Stew also brought bad atmosphere in liquid when fallen was there and eventually that project failed too.
I think he will either switch to VAL or Start Streaming it. Doesnt seems like he wanna "grind" cs anymore
Imagine stewie turn to streaming lol
unless that one is Niko level player lol
Attitude issues and he's shit. Nice mix there. The leaked logs imply he's going to Valorant but he's way too shit at that game so he'll become a streamer like Wardell told him to.
Isn't Simple sorry similar?
Stew has shot himself in the foot, the biggest thing that stuck out to me was “I’m willing to do anything to win” immediately followed up with “I know my attitude can be an issue”. There’s one solution man, don’t let your attitude take over and actually try to work with the people whose entire job is to help you win.
5Head
idk man the way eg has been playing even before he joined would make it hard for anyone used to winning to not let their emotions/attitude takeover
An IGL aint a mirical worker, cerq is washed and has to go.

This is when I felt afraid for stewie that he’s pulling himself down and being too self-critical.

I don’t doubt in the slightest that they over exaggerated how Stewie acted.

Richard Lewis has a fantastic breakdown on this man-child.

i haven't watched him play extensively but objectively, if i were a coach, i wouldn't let him go. I'd give him the time and space he needs but also guide him along the way so when Stew pops off again, it'd still be with EG and this slips under the rugs
to answer the title: yes it is, at least for stewie
Stewie is in a huge slump and yet is grinding 10+ games of valorant a day. Paycheque stealer
the problem at eg is that if you break down each individual player there is no real option for a leader apart from stew, who isint even a leader in the first place, all of them have the ability to be power houses in the server when pointed in the right direction with the right support.
you can see this with the likes of shox now, he was a power house, a player that can turn a game, but the moment he turns to IGL and has to think about 5 + players the whole game that dies, same with Niko when he IGL at faze
EG need a true IGL and to drop someone to house that, otherwise it will be early exits and dropping from qualifiers for this team

i can understand is competitive mind set of "I WANT TO WIN!!!!" but that can be a good thing and a bad thing. its a double edge sword. i have the same thing in any game i want to win but of course for him hes at a professional level so he has to win at all cost but for me if i see that my team is going to lose i get angry then chill down and just say "oh well". i will play my best to the fullest and move on to the next match. i hope he can fix his mistakes and move on better as a man and as a professional esports player.

@@ra1lgunz268 go check Lewis' vid on Stew's response, "oNcE eVeRy FiVe mOnTH" 🤣
I believe he can still perform like in his past teams, he just needs more time, confidence and TRUST the people around him a little bit more.
if he ever moves to Valorant, he will always be remembered as a major winner in CS. That is the only resume you need that every pro is striving for
Switching to another scene doesn’t make you a coward, there’s just CSGO elitists that see it as a lesser game
I think it's highly unreasonable to listen to only one side and blame Stew. Here are the facts,
- Stew took all the blame for playing badly this year at every stage.
Congrats you have been selected among my shortlisted winners, contact the number above.........✅✅
At least he made his apologies but i know he can change and improve more than ever
My man plays at least 8 hours of valorant a day and he is wondering why he can't kill anyone
It’s almost like it’s a deliberate design choice to prevent players from spraying if they want consistency
if only sentinels admitted their issues like stewie in valorant
*shaz
Shahz, but yeah true xD
Sen should replace Shaz with sinatra and its GG
I could be wrong but what I see is that stew is one of those players that can perform well by their own instincts which is why whenever he's had his best performances it's been whenever he has the roles that let him play for himself,to be the leader you have to have some sort of system and stew isn't that kind of player
Best performances? Being 5th best player in his team?
Imagine losing every tournament in Last position and saying I hate losing I guess he didn't get the last laugh
Congrats you have been selected among my shortlisted winners, cotact the number above^^^^^^^^^^✓™
@RPB his past skill then. The confidence is obviously gonna still be there.
main problem with stewie's attitude, he said it himself he only cares about winning. he does not care about what is most important which is the process, not the result.
its ok stewie just start singing "IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME, IF I COULD FIND A WAY...."
The picture on the bottom right is a bit lower than it should be and it makes me uncomfortable 🙃🙃
Congrats you have been selected among my shortlisted winners, cotact the number above^^^^^^^^^^^^✓™
lack of professionalism is why esports will never be taken seriously
GG stewie... you finally understood your job 5:40
I cant believe this guy was the leader... no call from the IGL... in pro league?
It won't ever reach the level of stability and structure that csgo has, simply because a game with abilities (and a company constantly breaking the game with abilities) will always be more or less random.

i really hope he finds a good team, he is such a talented player but i dont think the igl role suits him. He is a fragger and star player.
Why EG got the Wolverhampton Wanderers FC logo on their jersey?
3:54 it's not extreme, it's putting it mildly
Sometimes avoiding drama and having a job tomorrow has it own merits

It doesn’t matter if Stewie is acknowledging his faults. Actions speak louder than words!
Ngl the accusation kinda sounds like a side story made in a low budget movie

Learn from your mistakes and go forward.
A wise man said, you are not prepared to win if you are afraid to lose.
Sometimes wanting to win creates a toxic attitude like it should be have fun first cause everyone knows you play better when you just have fun and aren’t all serious about every little thing like you can win games while having fun and the environment is more relaxed and less stressful cause of a competitive player
Yo Dimitri, that painting on bottom right is off center. My OCD is getting tilted!

well if stew wants to win. he has to listen to what his coaches say and if stew really isn't challenging himself than why even play at that level. you will never get better if you don't challenge yourself.
if he wasn't the leader/captain things could've been different.
he's not full time dedicated to CS:GO anymore.
if he loses games/matches, he probably finds game like valorant to make him feel better (because he isn't at the top there yet so he's probably mismatching with weaker opponents)
you really can't criticize him anymore because he has achievements to back it up.. but once you're done, you're done.
"they know winning everything to me" uff ... I think Winning is nice especially in sports but i really hope thats not a general stance in his rl. Its a dangerous mindset

1:46 - respect.
it confuses me profoundly, always, that coaches are held on a certain pedestal.
not saying coaches are not leaders, but i would argue that only those who have proven themselves repeatedly.
across various games, new coaches were brought onto teams, expecting to be the big boss. whenever they couldn't cut it, they blame it on the players, who were actually on the ground, earning their own respect.
if anything, coach and player should be equals, if not that coaches are actually just assistants, especially in sports that are relatively young.
i love Stevie but he needs to grow up severely.
Don’t switch up on Stewie he knows what he is doing it worked in the past and the way stewie Igl’s probably is a lot different then what the higher ups in EG want and you can’t change a person specially characteristics that got him so far

why does stew look like an anti hero on an adult swim show
Those fails are also learning experiences.
sadly he takes it as a Problem not a Lesson.
@@kalbungo788 it only a problem if you don't have a solution. He will figure it out again and like he said he was doing things differently watching flanks stuff he doesn't normally do

that won't happen
Fraggers come and go
The eSports prime years are 14-25 and after that its a challenge in itself to keep up with the up and comers players who show equal skill.
A lot of people talking bad about Stew, I just don't think the IGL spot is the role for him... Look at previous teams... Nitro, Tarik, Fallen, etc. He played better.
hopefully stew can find EU team like Twistzz and start banging.
EU is more competetive anyway ,if u are god in EU u look like u smurfing in NA scene
if he switches to val i can imagine him joining sentinels, idk i just have a feeling that they could be rebuilding their team so it might work but

I don’t know his history or the csgo scene but I’ll say when I was watching a Tarik stream he refused to comm to his teammates during Val matches. Like stuff that was easy to say and would save their life while also kinda making fun of them so....
