Just saw my check engine light turn on , read the codes and came up as coolant thermostat. Are there any other problems that could cause that code to pop up besides thermostat issues?
How did you burp the system ? I just done this in my wife’s. And it still doesn’t have heat and the hose where the thermostat is stays cold. I don’t think I have all the air out thanks in advance
i have an 05 MDX. The temperature needle goes up when the AC is on and the car has been running for about an hour. But when i turn the AC off, the needle goes down. Recently, the engine light on the dashboard has been blinking.
Engine light blinking means Misfire. The overheating issue when ac is on I would think the AC FAN isn’t turning on or working properly. Don’t think the 2 problems are related though
@@frogDkermit thats not normal .. as long as you have enough coolant and no air pockets i would focus on the fan .. thats where im guessing the issue is
@@FalconsGarage i ran into an issue, after changing the thermostat i realized mine doesn't have a ground wire and it still caused motor to overheat. Atleast now I know its overheating lol but its not spewing coolant or water like it was before
@@FalconsGarage yea they do, and they both just got replaced and they spin good ? but i can’t figure out why it still over heats , no water leaks out the water pump
Thank you so much Falcon your videos have blessed my life and reduced so much stress...may God richly bless you.
Great master thanks for people like you
@Falcon Garage, is that the other end of the battery ground cable you removed from the thermostat housing?
yes
excellent work!!

low coolant or bad temp sensor could also be possible reasons why
Great Video

You would leave the radiator cap off and let the car run until all the air bobbles come out of the radiator.
Does the thermostat cause the temperature gauge to go crazy?
it could

Cracked water pump!
Just bought a 02 mdx and having issues with no heat could bad thermostat be the culprit runs normal temperature but just blows cold air
check the heater hoses going into the heater core .. are they hot?
2002 Acura MDX temp starts to rise while at a stop light. But goes down when driving. Any ideas?
Sounds like a fan issue. Make sure the fans are working properly.
Yes both fans seems to be running fine. They seem to stay on after the car is turned off for about 20 minutes or so.

@@FalconsGarage What would cause that? why would you suspect the fans? if both fans are working, what would you think would be the problem with them?
You are awesome bro thanks for your time and information you provide!!!!
Thanks bro,
No other gasket between housing and thermostat/block to replace?
just the thermostat gasket
@@FalconsGarage thank you! About to do this today for a family member.
How do u burp out the system.. and I didnt seee a u use a gasket at all
Ok. See what u wrote
Would this be similar to an 08 mdx? Haven't been able to find a video or info on that
Yes. Very similar
@@FalconsGarage thanks boss tomorrow morning I will work on mine. Thanks for your hard work showing us little guys how to

Could this cause my radiator fan continues running for 20+ minutes after turning the car off?
no

i got an 06 acura mdx its overheating both fans work & i will notice while im driving the temperature gauge will rise up quickly!!!
check thermostat .. but your head gaskets might be bad already
@@FalconsGarage i have a 2004 accura mdx, and the coolant goes to the reservoir and leaks from the top, how do I fix this?
i just changed the ect sensor and the thermostat and both fans are running and it over heats in park but not when i’m driving ? what can it be ?
Do the fans switch to the 2nd speed?

im guessing you didnt drain the coolant before hand?
no, sometimes its a pain to get all the air out if you drain the system
I need help with locating a whose location?

hi
My 2001 MDX has a line next to the battery that isn't connected to anything and I don't see where it connects
could it be from a sound system? maybe installed by previous owner?
@@FalconsGarage it's a hose about a centimeter in diameter
@@heavyhittersirl hose? could be for the windshield wiper .. vacuum ..
@@FalconsGarage How about the transmission fluid? Ik its not for the windshield reservoir.
