I am definitely going to try this recipe but with slight change to the steps shown. Firstly, you want to avoid fridge cold chickens when cooking with a rice cooker. That was the reason why chickens were not fully cooked in the video. Better to leave the chickens to marinate outside the fridge and come down to room temp before cooking. Also, you can stir fry inside the rice cooker to start. After all, this recipe is called a one pot recipe for a reason lol. Lastly, I would let things sit for another 10-15 mins in keep warm mode without opening the rice cooker. Else, you will lose valuable steam that was supposed to continue cooking the chicken.
I agree. I do very little outside the rice cooker. Chopping only. I keep my house very cold. I can marinate on the counter but it’s not good for everyone. I love to cut up a few potatoes and throw in with butter and salt and pepper. The potatoes will get a beautiful crust! Enjoy! I do omelette things too!
as a 72yo white woman I am soooo encouraged by the youth of today that I am seeing on YT... there are so many young people getting involved and trying to speak the truths out loud that you don't hear on MSM....Adam Mockler is one of my favorites.. he is so knowledgeable and well informed for his age.. this, this is what we need now...thank you young people... you help me feel that all is not lost
I just found this video. I’m sure going to try it but with the chicken thighs. I’m from Juneau Alaska and, all are food is shipped up on barges.most of the time I want to make something but more then likely out stores don’t carry it. So I always have to order online, then by the time the gets here I forgot what I ordered it for. This recipe I have everything.
Thanks! This was simple and easy to follow ! All in the rice cooker! Was good for people who don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen! Looking forward for more variety one pot meals! Thanks much!👍🥰
Thank you! I'm so glad you found it simple and easy, especially using the rice cooker! One-pot meals are such a time-saver, and I'll definitely share more of them. Thanks again for the feedback! 😊
Frying before steaming, makes the rice more fluffy. Try making Turkish baldo rice with the small pasta with butter. It’s a game changer cooked with chicken stock.
I started out years ago with a Wolfgang Puck mini cooker thing then Dash mini now I have two 8 cup Insignia rice cookers. Today I made pepper steak with a lb and a half of beef picanha, can of beef broth, pkg frzn peppers and onions, a can of Red Gold tomatoes with green chiles, pepper, garlic salt and a splash of truffle oil. I never turn my oven on. I throw stuff in a rice cooker in the morning and I’m set for the day. Enjoy!
It looks so yummy but I don't have the patience for cooking for a long period of time so I've always decided to go to the Asian supermarket and settle for the cooked item already which is also tasty ( easier and faster ) . But yeah , the chicken in the video is utterly tantalizing , my mouth is watering while typing my comment right now . 😍👍😘llee
Merci beaucoup pour ton message ! Je suis content que tu trouves la recette simple et appétissante. Bon appétit, et n’hésite pas à revenir si tu essaies d’autres recettes ! 😊
Thanks for the recipe. Sounds delicious. I have two YumAsia rice cookers, a 3.5 cup Panda and an 8 cup induction Bamboo, which I think would be the best way to go, even though I live alone and cook just for myself. I think I'll try it with the rice as specified, but with a single thigh/leg piece of chicken. The leftover rice ought to make pretty tasty fried rice the next day or two.
now I know why they make 10 cup rice cookers. I could never imagine making 10 cups of rice at once🤣 But I am definitely going to scale this down and try it in my 3 cup.
@Cooking Island, thank you for this video. I intend to buy a Rice Cooker this week. Do you think that we can just wash the rice and use it without stiring it? Sorry for asking this question. Wishing you success with your Channel. Best from São Paulo, Brazil.
It's totally okay if you don't want to stir-fry it. You can check out this recipe to get the rice infused without stir-frying: ua-cam.com/video/Yy-m757q06o/v-deo.html Thanks for asking! :)
Chicken wings are meant to be eaten with the skin! If you want without skin, you’re better off with boneless chicken thighs … cut up into bite sized pieces. Just a suggestion 😋
No. The chicken might cook OK, but the rice would be destroyed, and the pot might be super difficult to impossible to clean. I also think think this recipe could be converted to a "fried" rice recipe without the chicken pretty easily.
Why am I watching this when it's almost 12 midnight?! Now, I can't sleep coz the recipe was mouthwatering 😢😂
Same here🤣

@@TheCookingIsland , thank you very much for your return and link. Stay safe,
Will try with my Tefal multicooker. 😀😍😉🍲🎆
Can you give water ratio for brown and other rices? Thanks!
I find brown rice to require a 2:1 ratio of water to rice. White rice is 1:1.
L85 nice recipe🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much 👍
