    I'll bet it is my age (83) but i truly prefer WW 1 biplanes, flying these JET bullets is beyond my skill and reflex level. Well done fellows the speed and flight control is magnificent.

      They are awesome to watch especially the warbirds. I have a video that’s more to your style of models it was during our Memorial Day Warbirds event. Thanks for watching!

    Am I the only one who was hoping that the BUFF had 8 (or even just 4) actual turbines in it? It was impressive in any case! And I know, getting that many turbines synced would be an absolute BEAR of a problem, let alone making sure the pylons could carry the weight.

    • @cavediver2579
      @cavediver2579 3 місяці тому

      You don’t “sync” turbines…

    • @michiganengineer8621
      @michiganengineer8621 3 місяці тому

      @@cavediver2579 I know it was the wrong word, but especially with the outer engines so far apart, you would want to have the thrust as even/balanced as possible between the port and starboard engines.

      @@michiganengineer8621 I haven’t flown rc in several years but started flying turbines in the JPX days. On the model you wouldn’t need 8 turbines, 2 would be fine. It, at least was, and I am sure it is now easy to match thrust with turbines. Match rpm and you match thrust pretty closely, years ago with the Jetcat engines (I was a Jetcat field rep) it was just a matter of a parameter to setup in the ECU’s

      @michiganengineer8621 3 місяці тому

      @@cavediver2579 I didn't know that on the turbines. I did most of my flying with standard prop jobs. And I definitely agree about not needing multiple turbines on a model that size. Unless someone makes a turbine with about 3-5 lbs max thrust LOL

      @@michiganengineer8621 many years ago Superman jet rally was THE show. A brand new 7-something (twin turbine under the wing) commercial airliner was being test flown by a well known factory pilot, and friend of mine, with Bob Violett beside him. This model had twin Ram 750’s and when the pilot took off he went down runway turned out and was at 1000’ heading the opposite direction when both wings departed. It took us all weekend to find most of the parts. It was spectacular to see, I’d rather see something like this with the appropriate power

    I hate when rc pilots do unnatural flight movements. Takes away from cool factor. Wanna be a nerd, keep doing them. Like those kids who do the weird things with rc helicopters. Just dumb.

      I think that’s what makes our hobby unique. There’s many types of models and flying styles from scale, sport, IMAC, F3S, Pattern just to name a few. We need to keep an open mind at the many avenues people take after mastering the trainer models. If we get rid of a certain style of flying like 3D then we loose a huge group of pilots. It takes a lot of skills and coordination during all the twist, turns and chaos these pilots push themselves and their models. I’m not a 3D pilot but I applaud them for showcasing their skills. We just need to keep an open mind so we can keep our hobby alive for future generations of pilots long after we are gone. Have a blessed day 🙂
