Company policy to put back it on and put the bucket up tight against the gooseneck. Theory is that in a catastrophe, the machine has no way to roll forward but as you know, if you're chained properly, there shouldn't be any issues.
I can't help but be curious. Do you folks deal with snow removal hauling out of Boston after the storm at all? I work for an excavation company out of Gorham, ME. After a snow event, I have been called to run overnight in Portland to haul snow out of the city streets along with several other trucks from many different companies. I'm just curious how you folks do it down in the big city. Love what you do Mike! Keep it up and I can't wait for the next one. :)
I have done that for my previous company Boston Bark. We'd basically be on rental for a big construction company who had a contract. We've done that a couple times here plus a few times for the City we're in. Mostly we just haul snow out of a few shopping plazas and that's it.
Thanks for the video, lived in Florida all my life so would not know what to do in the snow.. ha Do you guys run with gravel or something in the bed of the truck to help improve your traction? I am guessing you are running snow tires or chains too?
Hi Mike Greg from Australia , I have no clue about snow plows but how do you stop the plows from hitting the the road surface and plowing out chunks of asphelt on bumps etc ? I enjoy watching the work you do there as i am a local tipper driver as well 👍
Hi Greg! There's no way to miss the chunks of asphalt on your first pass by in a storm but if you plow the same route every storm, you remember where they are and try to avoid them. The problem is after you've been in a long storm like 18-36 hours straight, you start to forget where those chunks are and it sure wakes you up when you hit them! Great question! Thank you

Ok cool! Never heard of it.
Why not put the loader with the bucket at the rear of the trailer so it’s not catching all the wind?
Company policy to put back it on and put the bucket up tight against the gooseneck. Theory is that in a catastrophe, the machine has no way to roll forward but as you know, if you're chained properly, there shouldn't be any issues.
@@TheBostonTrucker ah okay that’s good to know. I hardly ever see it done this way. Thanks for the insight!
Mike your plow truck needs a wing plow it would cut down on plowing time
The roads I plow are too narrow.
Lol that's a claim work related.!🤣
Seriously!
Thanks for the video, lived in Florida all my life so would not know what to do in the snow.. ha Do you guys run with gravel or something in the bed of the truck to help improve your traction? I am guessing you are running snow tires or chains too?
Yes I have a load of stone on to help with traction and I have good thick tread on my tires.
Hey nice video! What type of license you need to drive the little kenworth?
Thank you! You don't need a commercial license when it's empty but loaded you need a Class B I believe.
Thank you
@@TheBostonTrucker thanks for the reply Mike . You would have to drive along with the plow a foot off the ground on our aussie roads 😂 stay safe mate 👍
Looking good as always. Are you the senior driver?
I am senior driver but not the oldest driver in age.
You need some heated wiper blades on your plow ride.
Wouldn't hurt.
26 year plowing snow no more blowing bark mulch in Florida get to sleep in my bed every night
Fantastic!
What ever happened to dog the plow guy? Pushing snow like Tony montagna!!! Haaaaaa
No idea what happened to him.
Do u have a videos about ur history of that business?
I made one for Instagram awhile back but not UA-cam but I do have this. ua-cam.com/video/MeVkdHuenIg/v-deo.html
👍👍👍👍
😊
Nice job! Does the snow plow scrape rite on the pavement or is there a little clearance? Just wondering how they hold up?
There isn't any clearance. The plow is right down tight on the pavement! Great question!
Why don’t you have a piece of rubber on the top of the plow so that you’re not blinded by the snow on your windshield?
Good question ⁉️
@@TheBostonTrucker and a foil!
Old conveyer belt would do the trick. Cool video Mike.
Question why are u plowing the city streets? Does Boston not have city employees to plow ?
We're in a suburb of Boston called Waltham. Waltham has a DPW department and their own trucks but not enough.
@@TheBostonTrucker got it thx bud
If you put a rubber flap on the plow it won't come up on to your window as bad
I need that in my life!
That's what you get for wearing cowboy boots in the mud 🤣🤣🤣
So true! 😜
Well, at least your gloves wont squeek anymore...
Laughing my ass off! 😜😂
Atf is way better fuel treatment than that stuff
Never used before but I will say I've never gelled up with Power Service.
@@TheBostonTrucker i use atf keeps water out and lubes the pump
If it wasn’t for employer’s like the one you work for there would not be any history or collectibles because it takes a lot of money and time to bring it back a poor man never gave someone a job How can you move equipment after dusk
Very true. It wasn't that long after the sun went down.
Your Mack Plow truck looks 10 times better than that Kenworth ever dreadful looking
Nahhh the Kenworth is way better! Here's a video in the Mack on Christmas 🎄 ua-cam.com/video/67dZy1ehHyA/v-deo.html
