I love that deep growl the 373 power cars emit under power; That with the 'whoosh' from the carriages makes them quite mesmerising. Almost up there with the old Paxman turbos!

Some superb video Lucas! I've watched TGV from the line side and they go past like a missile. Your video is just a reminder of how quickly they pass and disappear into the distance.

la première cest Paris Lyon, la deuxième cest Paris Tours, la troisième c'est Paris Calais via Lille, la quatrième cest Lyon Valence, et la 5 ième Valence Marseille :)

I love the french high speed railway, but in 2026 they say that hs2 will go 400 kmph / 250 mph, I think that’s a bit too far

Ah malheureusement non, je ne suis jamais allé filmé par là bas, après je sais que vers ma gare de TGV Haute Picardie, il y a des coins pas mal pour filmer :)

+Ludo Train sur tout les TGV il y a la Pub de l'euro ahah, apres oui sur LGV Est cest 4700 et 500 et les ICE :)

Comparing your videos with those on youtube from other trainspotters, i have to ask you, are your videos a bit more accelerated than normal (trains do seem to me that they travel faster than their maximum speed) or are they at their natural speed?

Why are the EuroStar cars so small
Because of the zoom
Simply because the Eurostar class 373 predates HS1, they had to be built to the more restrictive British loading gauge. This is also the reason all but 9 or 10 are being scrapped and replaced by the e320’s. they are a maintenance nightmare and have racked up millions of miles since 1993. The e320’s are post HS1 so we’re able to be built to the same loading gauge used on mainland Europe. It does mean though that unlike the class 373’s they are limited to HS1 only in the UK. The class 373’s can and have been used on other routes namely the southern, pre HS1 from London Waterloo to the tunnel and on the ECML on hire to the then operator of that route GNER (Sea Containers).

I took the Class 43, the Class 158, and other class, and english trains are good, ya know ? Just for the speed, France is better for that, but for the comfort, we're both good
Even Germany, Spain ad Italy railway systems are better than UK's... UK railway system, except for CTRL, is aged and not competitive.
