100%. Not just the message but the music and the visual spectacle of this film are top notch. Especially the visual (minus the weird Benjamin Button thing).
Yeah sadly this movie didn't receive enough credits than it should .. man I felt sorry to the people who didn't watch this movie yet .. and to the people who not understand the message behind this movie
Just came back from Norway..... I never thought i would be a traveler, i used to be that guy that would rather stay home and play video games.. just me, the dark and my video games... but then i realized.. hey If i love skyrim so much.. why don't i travel to a place like it?..... i booked a flight to iceland, my first time travelling by myself..... i met people along the way.. i saw the northern lights.. i experienced everything for my self.. and it was the greatest moment of my life... then after that it was vietnam... then norway....... It made me feel alive... for the first time when i travelled.... i didn't care about my controller.. my job.. everything else.. i just lived the moment... ( Update: Just went to Japan. So I've got more travelling to do . Heading to Taiwan soon as well now lol since people keep commenting . )
In the New Normal travel will be illegal due to the virus or unavailable after due to the economy not being able to sustain it (or just exist for the super rich) 😰 Glad u had ur experiences.
The movie and this song made me want to travel to Iceland.. And I did, it was amazing watching the sunset and sunrise combine at 2am into something truly beautiful.
Have yet to watch Walter Mitty, but I find it funny that Beau is Afraid fits your description of “everything” and I’m pretty sure it’s nearly the opposite of Walter Mitty
This song at the end of the secret life of walter mitty brings the entire movie together. This song captures the "quintessence" of the movie, of what walter mitty does, and how Ben Stiller captures the role so perfectly. This song sums up all of the beautiful parts of the movie, of walter mitty being so dedicated to his job and to capture a picture that truly captured the meaning of life. All of walter mitty's trials to "do whatever just to stay alive" put the incredibly strong emotion into this movie. For me, 25% of this amazing movie is this incredible song.
Keegan Pelton I couldn't have said it any better. I felt the same exact way. I loved the movie beginning to end, but I don't think I fully realized that until I saw the credits and heard this song. It made me think back to the beauty I'd seen in the last two hours, and made me want to watch it again. Any film that can make you feel nostalgic WHILE you're watching it, well...that's something special. 25%? I'll raise you. 45%.
Keegan Pelton Also, little anecdote here; Jose Gonzalez had been one of my favorite artists for a while before seeing this movie, and when I went into the theatre (knowing next to nothing about the film - great experience btw), I had no clue that he worked on the soundtrack. When I heard the riff for "Far Away" about a quarter of the way into the movie, something clicked. Ever feel like a film is just tailor made for your enjoyment?
Teja Appilla Meh, I've just been listening the them al and they're alright, but in comparison to this song/ This one was made specifically FOR the movie, and fits it perfectly.
It’s 2024 and I still can’t stop listening to this song. Love it so much along with his other ones like ‘Step Out’. These songs keep me alive and inspired!
This reminds me of " If you need to do something you are afraid of doing, do it with fear" thats a life lesson for everyone to just know. Its important.
I am a nurse taking care of covid patients. Sometimes I feel like giving up. Like I can't do it. But everytime I play this song before going to Work, it gave me strength to serve and be the nurse my patient needs. Be the light in their darkness and their hope through this trying times.
Stay strong. I am a pharmacist dealing with similar unknowns. This song reminds me of my dog who lost a battle with a rare blood disease at five years old. I remember trying to keep him alive and I cannot listen to this song without crying. Exactly 1 year later my son was born. While one thing I loved passed away, another was introduced into my life. While I would have given anything for the both of them to have been together, each one of them were the most wonderful things to have ever happened to me
Posted this 3 weeks ago. 4 days ago. I was diagnosed with COVID 19 Positive. Before I was caring with patients who got infected, now I am the patient that got infected. Praying to recover soon so that I could come back to work and save more lives. 😊 At first I was shock but just as this song says. We just have to Stay Alive while we can and also accept that time will come that everything will end. For life is not measured by how long you have lived but by how meaningdul you spent every second of it. 💝
I think the most amazing part about the music is that: there may be millions of people all over the world listening the same music and share the same feeling with you, you won't feel lonely.
I've spent the majority of my life just rolling in the wind without any direction. After graduating university a couple of years ago I went from retail job to retail job, not really making or keeping any friends in the process. Going from nowhere to nowhere. When I saw the trailer for this movie, it struck a chord with me because I could really relate to Walter Mitty. His solitude, his optimistic daydreaming and 'loneliness' This song played at the end of the movie, I just had to download it so that I could truly pay attention to the lyrics. I will make it my personal mission this year 2014 to do something that I can be proud of. Something 'noteworthy and mentionable'. :)
I have a terminal illness and I have listened to this on repeat all day. My eyes are swollen from the tears. Please folks go out and live! I am 44 and dying from two, separate primary cancers with stage 4 liver failure. I have SO many regrets!😢😢😢
I NEED to say that there was a time a couple years ago I NEEDED to listen to this song to NOT commit suicide. And now when I listen to it, it's about abuse and recovery for me and its SO much more powerful! It has touched my real heart more than once. I hope someone knows that over there. You have no idea what this song did for me more than once...
Do whatever just to stay alive... Glad you are still here Beverly. Sometimes there are things that we do not know/understand, but we somehow manage to resist it and face it, just like you did. Life only demands for strong heart.
February 29, 2024. I watched Walter Mitty for the first time in December. I haven’t been able to get the soundtrack out of my head. This song whispers through my mind at times during the day, when I’m rushing, or I see someone in a dither. When I forget to take a breath. When I need to realign my priorities. When I need to reembrace this beautiful life all around me. The timing of it all. The rise and fall. The building and tearing down. And the hope , the lingering hope, that life gets better if I just keep going. I exist. I wasn’t my own idea, yet I remain. Therefore, may I live every moment. Alive. Awake. Enjoying being myself and enjoying those around me. The sunrise and flowers and dimples on cheeks and and and and… it’s all so amazing. 💛💛
I used to listen to this song every single morning for 3 years. I was in deep depression. I felt like nobody cared for me or loved me, but listening to this song made me feel like someone did. I never thought who it was but it felt like someone gave me a tight hug every day, singing this song to me. Months ago, I just got baptized as a Christian and I'm now recovering. I realized it was God all along who used this song to give me a reason to stay alive and not commit suicide. I still listen to this song every day, but I now have a clue who it was who loved me and continues to love me.
That's a bit ironic since, although the lyrics to this song is written by Ryan Adams, Jose Gonzalez is an outspoken atheist and has stated that he always tries to create music that has humanism and a secular world view foremost. Not a slight towards you at all. I just found it a little ironic. All the best.
I am not a fan of Ben Stiller movies, so I initially skipped it. I only saw it thanks to parents, who almost forced me to sit down and watch, they were sure I'd like it. I was waiting to see another cringe comedy, but instead... I was profoundly impressed. A very relatable character of Walter, breathtaking shots and soundtrack is beyond amazing. Also the style and humor itself were at some point unique and something new for me. The moment when fantasy world of Mitty kicks in the first time it caught my attention and never released it. And in the end, this song brought such great feeling of peace and inspiration... One of the most personally beloved movies and one of the greatest piece of work by Ben Stiller.
So you don't like Zoolander or Tropic Thunder??!!?? Two classic comedies. I used to live on Nantucket Island for 10 years and Ben Stiller's Mom (now dead) and father had a house there. Ben was always on the island during the Nantucket film festival. I was lucky enough to meet him several times and his parents a bunch of times. Ben is an awesome dude in person. I've met a lot of famous people and I gotta say he was one of the few that actually took an interest in meeting me and asked me a bunch of questions just inquiring about me. He will always rock. Plus I love his movies.
"Stay Alive" There's a rhythm in rush these days Where the lights don't move and the colors don't fade Leaves you empty with nothing but dreams In a world gone shallow In a world gone lean Sometimes there's things a man cannot know for gears won't turn and the leaves won't grow There's no place to run and no gasoline Engines won't turn and the train won't leave Engines won't turn and the train won't leave I will stay with you tonight Hold you close 'til the morning light In the morning watch a new day rise We'll do whatever just to stay alive We'll do whatever just to stay alive Well the way I feel is the way I write It isn't like the thoughts of the man who lies There is a truth and it's on our side Dawn is coming Open your eyes Look into the sun as the new days rise And I will wait for you tonight You're here forever and you're by my side I've been waiting all my life To feel your heart as it's keeping time We'll do whatever just to stay alive [4x] Dawn is coming Open your eyes Look into the sun as the new days rise There's a rhythm in rush these days Where the lights don't move and the colors don't fade > Leaves you empty with nothing but dreams > In a world gone shallow > In a world gone lean but there is a truth and it's on our side Dawn is coming Open your eyes Look into the sun as the new days rise
Walter Mitty was a life changing movie for me. It showed me only thing holding me back was the unwillingness to step outside my comfort zone. My wife and I alwaya wanted to see the US, so i said lets just do it. I love the fact i was able to say I've seen things most have dreamed of. To anyone afraid to make those decisions, I say just do it. You'll find a huge part of yourself out there just waiting for you to find it. Like the song says " Just open your eyes "
I had severe anxiety in college, and sometimes leaving my front door was too much. I was in a toxic relationship that made everything worse. Abruptly, everything shifted: I got dumped. I started going to church. I was given an opportunity to live in a tiny village in Bosnia for a summer (through church connections), and I jumped at it, despite never having traveled overseas before. Now I was going alone. I remember sitting on the tarmac at JFK Airport, thinking that my anxiety was Goliath, my faith was my stone - and the plane was my slingshot. This song reminds me of that journey - can't believe I'm just finding it now!! Prayers to everyone still struggling with anxiety. You're stronger than you think, and capable of so much more than you realize 💕
You were in Bosnia 😍 That's country next to mine 🥰 Anyway, I'm happy you found peace in religion and even though anxiety can still be around, I believe it's easier to deal with it 🤗
Totally underated movie, I remember critics saying it was not so good, but for me Ben Stiller was brilliant. Hate the critics, for me your feedback is much more important.
They didn’t like it cause they are like Ben in the beginning of the movie never getting out lol, great freakin movie makes me want to do 1 crazy thing a day to keep it fun and when my childhood is gone I can go farther
I am a novice Stoic. I was moved to tears by the comments on this site. The song gives hope that life is worth living. And loved the movie, the secret life of Walter Mitty.
A punch in the face of Instagram, Facebook, UA-cam, Instagram and all the other time wasting platforms because people are desperately asking for attention (yeah, I know, written on UA-cam)
justanotherbum007, ***** lol, super old comment here, but to clarify, cry as in tear up because the song is beautiful, when I say working I mean working on stuff in general, also I'm not even at the legal age yet to have any job yet.
I know years later UA-cam will bring me back to this song just as it did now. Secret Life of Walter Mitty introduced me to this song, and it has stayed with me and provided me the required strength back then. Whatever I'm going through in my current life, listening to this brought back those days and a smile on my face. Every day is a new beginning and a new adventure calling. If you are reading this, have a nice day!
Honestly one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I have seen it multiple time and it always leaves me smiling and feeling hopeful about the world. For a long time, I always thought this song and Jose's other masterpiece "Step Out" were a single song. They way they play over the credits at the end, with its seamless transition from one song to the other is perfect. Its honestly the only movie credits that I look forward to just because of these 2 songs. After watching the movie, I usually just lay my head back and close my eyes while these 2 songs are playing. It always makes me feel..... just feel. Incredible.
My memory of this song will forever be sitting on a bus to somewhere new, staring out the window in a melodic trance wondering what new adventures await me, what new amazing people I'll meet and what amazing sites I will discover. I miss traveling. Hiking to Mount Everest, seeing the most beautiful panoramic views of the world's highest mountains in complete peace and solitude, hiking across huge glaciers, climbing up steep rock slide prone areas, motorbiking across Vietnam with my girlfriend in that insane traffic, scuba diving with whale sharks, manta rays and thresher sharks, swimming at night on a beach in Thailand with bioluminescent plankton, seeing the most colorful sunset ever in southern France
The secret life of Walter mitty and the music involved changed my life... I started running... I've been running ever since, not away.. but towards my life
I just love that ticking in the background. One may interpret it in various ways, I just think about it as inevitable passage of time with each day. For a person like me, an introvert it reminds me that life is too damn short and step by step I try new things. This song sort of brings me hope.
I'm so hesitant to try and put words to the feelings that both the movie and the song evoked for me--and I probably wouldn't try except so many others have been brave and shared so I feel like I can too. I have traveled like Mitty at times and have 'lived' in in ways a lot people strive to do. I've always had this life other people wanted. I've known adventure, it's true, but I have always felt empty. I think its the hardest thing to do to find a way of living to completely fulfill you. Even if your life 'looks like' a life that you see in magazines or movies. Its like life is a big game where you have to balance one round pebble on top of another and you can never stop tending to this delicate structure you're creating. You have to hold it up and add to it and shape it, stack another pebble. stack another pebble... I'm young (23 yrs old) so I may not know what I'm talking about or this may all change very soon, but I'm starting to get a sense that this is what it all is. Taking tiny little things and just putting them together as elegantly as you can. There's no rhyme or reason or 'trick' or list of '25 things you can do to be happy' this is all there is. I mean, Walter really didn't commit any extraordinary deed, or have this great goal or plan to live an exciting and fulfilling life, it just sort of happened. He wasn't particularly different either, we've all met day dreamers and we all are day dreamers in some way. He just went to work and stacked his pebbles and eventually life took off for him. This song reminds me of that feeling too. It helps me accept the emptiness and embrace the way of things. I can't travel like I used to, or live the way I used to and I'm not the woman I want to be yet and sometimes I get very upset about this. I want things to be different. But I hear this song and it calms me down and reminds me that life happens little by little, and its okay to listen to the clock tick and its okay to stay in moments that are beautiful. It will all slip away one day, so take your time. Thanks for listening and thanks for everyone who shared too.
Bessie Collett Rajee Su I'm humbly surprised my words had an effect on you! I'm also very glad (: I didn't expect anyone to read this at all (: I hope you have great days today!!
It's 2024, back in 2016 I was on the run for a crime I didn't commit, I was on my own and sleeping rough, this song kept me alive one day at a time. I was cleared and my life is better, thank you for keeping me going one day at a time knowing "the truth is on our side" ❤
This song always brings a smile to my face! Everyone in our family are big fans of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", and the Soundtrack. In April of 2019, my daughter & I took a trip to Iceland, and we saw some of the amazing sights featured in the movie. We have great memories from the trip and hope to return again. In July of 2022, our daughter was married, and for the Father/Daughter dance, we chose this song! Everyone loved it!
I always forget about that movie but whenever I rewatch it I know why it's one of my favorite movies and it will be forever. Such inspirational feelings. Starting today I will make the most out of my life. I'm just 21 but I'm not where I wanna be I'm convinced I can do more.
the whole soundtrack of this movie is just amazing and beautifully used! for me it's one of the few movies that I feel like the soundtrack is an integral part of the movie and not just background noise to accompany the scenes... I like that very much in a movie
Bruh whenever I play this song , it brings to my attention the walls of the room , and how I’m in it ….and that there is a whole world outside these walls of work place … and it instantly brings me to tears . Damn.
One of the most perfect and inspired choices for an end credits song I can think of. Whilst not a masterpiece, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was a really, really enjoyable film and this track was the perfect fit to play as it ended.
Third the opinion, but somehow its is me, my dad and my mum, sorry but as i write this i realise how doomed i and my family have been for the last 30 odd years and how while watching Walter Mitty and listening to this song more, i feel for once in reality and it’s making me feel…lost
This was my Step Dads song to my little brother at his funeral. I had never heard it before. I listen to it often just to remind myself of the impact my little brother had on us all. I miss you so much Wyatt..I hope you're resting easy.
Just got back from a trip to Medellin, Colombia, the song now has a whole new level of meanings to me. Reading through the violent history, walking the once blood shed streets and knowing how traumatized people were, then you see the changes, you see the relentlessness in human nature. Death doesn't scare people away, life always give hope. Indeed people "do whatever just to survive" but in the end "the truth is on our side, dawn is coming and a new day rise"
A great song and movie.. people should understand life is not just about money.. you have one life here focus on the Big picture.. freedom is the greatest gift.. I've been all over the world.. with very little money.. just love life.. good luck hope you all think of that
I've always found comfort in disappearing into my imagination. Especially when I was a kid. I would create whole worlds and be the hero or the villain of my own stories, or whatever I was thinking of. When I found this movie and saw that so well depicted, that feeling of escaping to your thoughts whilst trapped in a stagnant reality, it really hit me in an emotional way. Learning how to step outside of yourself and EXPERIENCE life instead of picturing a better/more fantastical one in your mind is the way to go people. You never feel more alive than when you are exposing yourself to the wonder, beauty, and sometimes terror of this world. Stay Alive now.
This is a song for those who were misread or never noticed regardless how much effort they put into their LIFE....thank you “Walter Mitty” for this glorious outlook on how much beauty can come from just living in the moment and having the strength to embrace it.... that’s true courage!!
I watched this movie before I moved out to Alberta when I was 20, this song is so subtle but gives such a great feeling of adventure and things to come
customphoenixwings I did the same, planning a trip to Canada also. Unfortunately my trip fell through because of financial troubles. But when I hear this song (or watch the movie), I think back to how it felt, just thinking I was going. Some day, I'll make that trip happen.
Always wanting to go there movies like, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and even Eurovision made me want to go there even more. I was fortunate enough to do so. As of a week ago of me posting this I was in Iceland for 2 weeks! Rode around the entire island, staying at different hotels/hostels every night. I've never been to a place that was beautiful all the time in all directions, every day! Even when it was high winds or raining, it just didn't stop being beautiful. From wild horses to hot springs to scary mountain driving to even being lucky to catch the Northern Lights, I'll never forget those 2 weeks. And I sincerely hope this Black man from the United States can live there one day before I die. Now to go through the little over 3k photos I took to decide what to edit all while listening to the soundtrack of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty!
this song has saved me in so many ways. The playlist for the movie in question is wonderful!! And one of the best moments of my life was listening to it on a day when I walked in the rain.
This song realy brings me back to my past where my grandma just carried me in her arms but as i got older she started fealing not so good when i was 8 we figured she had cancer and thats a memory i will never forget and i prayed every night that i could see and feel her heartwarming touch again😢
This music gives me hope and gives me tears...I sang to her this music during her times of struggle...remembering my beloved mother who passed away this year of January 2022..
When I was about to give up on life and just few moments before when I was about to take the leap..... I looked at the sky and asked for a sign..... And believe it or not this Song played from auto recommendations. I am grateful till this date and I know what it means to me. 😊
Secret life of walter mitty is my go-to movie for inspiration, feel happy, feel the courage to walk into the unknown. I still watch the movie from time to time as it gives me that push to keep going on. Goal is to travel the world, have millions of memories. And after reading comments of people here suffering or seeing people suffer from depression, terminal illness and so on just inspires me to make sure I’ve no regrets whenever my life ends.
The positivity in this song is just sublime. Great song to start breaking out of that sad fatigue we all feel time and time again. Its a new year. Time to watch Secret Life of Walter Mitty again.
Good luck Dallas Dwayne Victor Blixt i hope you find your way to live in the world, once you found your passion, go for it, and don't stop. if you don't, you'll regret your boring life.
I think you are right. I also think that We have lost the ability to see the extraordinary in our everyday lives. I recently took a trip and was looking for what I termed a "Walter Mitty" and our trip was frought with problems and challanges; and i was sad. I felt I had been cheated of my experience, then it dawned on me...THAT is exactly what happened to Walter in the movie! He thougtht it would be a quick hop to Greenland, and boom! the guy is leaping into freezing shark infested waters! Talk about not what you expected. As I reflected I realized what my wife and I expereienced was exactly what I asked for. Just remember to look for the extraordinary in your everyday life. it IS there, I promise.
i've watched some movies that are truly inspirational. but only this one that made me open my eyes wider to see what lies outside. i started my trip a week ago, i didnt go to Iceland because i didnt have enough money and i am still 17, my parents wouldnt let me go. but i put Iceland on my list. hope we all can find our true selves one day and have an amazing journey just like Walter Mitty has.
I relate heavily to this movie and the songs accurately respresent the optimistic and dreamy state I live in. I constantly see myself doing more and I am just trying to retire as quick as I can so I can live my dreams out.
I was probably 11 when I first listened to this song. By then, I didn't know much English and I didn't understand the lyrics. But I didn't need to. There was something about it that just moved me. I'm 14 now, I'm better at English and I do understand the lyrics now. Yesterday, I decided to watch the movie (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty) and I felt the same as I did when I listened to the song. Something changed in me. As a not normal teenager, I related to Walter a lot. I take those imaginary trips, I ache for that feeling of freedom. I want to get lost in the mountains and improvise. I want to travel and try my best to Stay Alive. I want to go somewhere where nobody knows me. I just wish I had someone to share this with and daydream about it...
I am from Ukraine in 2022. And the song takes on a new meaning ... I really hugged my loved one at night, just to see the dawn in the morning and be alive ... It's very difficult and painful, but hope lives in our hearts. Thanks for the teasing!!!
the secret life of walter mitty is so inspirational and iconic makes u wanna go straight to the airport and go wherever the wind takes u ( cant do that in 2020 though quarantine hopefully yrs from now ppl reading this wont be in quarantine)
Its 2020, and this song still gives me comfort in the most magical way. Secret Life of Walter Mitty will forever be my favorite movie.
100%. Not just the message but the music and the visual spectacle of this film are top notch. Especially the visual (minus the weird Benjamin Button thing).
Wow this comment ! I was on a nostalgic trip going through old a music file that led me here, #happy place
Yeah sadly this movie didn't receive enough credits than it should .. man I felt sorry to the people who didn't watch this movie yet .. and to the people who not understand the message behind this movie
Same, favorite movie of all time
I'm with you brother
Heading to Taiwan soon as well now lol since people keep commenting . )
Very inspirational comment friend, very inspirational..
I hope you're still as lively as your comment is🌅🤠
In the New Normal travel will be illegal due to the virus or unavailable after due to the economy not being able to sustain it (or just exist for the super rich) 😰 Glad u had ur experiences.
aussieblackhawk123 I LOVE THAT 🖤
Amazing story, im glad you did what u wanted and got to see a part of our world😄😄😄
The movie and this song made me want to travel to Iceland.. And I did, it was amazing watching the sunset and sunrise combine at 2am into something truly beautiful.
The movie influenced me to visit Iceland also. I watched the northern lights as I turned 21 lying on the snow looking up, breathtaking!:)
Am so jealous now 😢
@@RAMIC-tv1ye No point in being jealous! There is natural beauty where you live too I am sure.
True it is. The day I watched this movie, I have a dream to visit Iceland. One day I will.
I think my motto for 2019 will be the 3 words in the middle of your statement........."And I did"...!! Love it!
The secret life of Walter Mitty is one of the most underrated movie. It has everything comedy, adventure, sad, and inspiring
What is the name of the song at the End of the movie
I will with you
My husband have watched this movie minimum 10 times. Weloved it.
Have yet to watch Walter Mitty, but I find it funny that Beau is Afraid fits your description of “everything” and I’m pretty sure it’s nearly the opposite of Walter Mitty
This song at the end of the secret life of walter mitty brings the entire movie together.
Yes, but other than this sountrack I am not a huge fan of Jose Gonzalez :(
Teja Appilla Meh, I've just been listening the them al and they're alright, but in comparison to this song/ This one was made specifically FOR the movie, and fits it perfectly.
Keegan Pelton Agree!!!!!!!!

I remember trying to keep him alive and I cannot listen to this song without crying. Exactly 1 year later my son was born. While one thing I loved passed away, another was introduced into my life. While I would have given anything for the both of them to have been together, each one of them were the most wonderful things to have ever happened to me
same here, working in ICU, I feel you XX Keep the good work going and stay safe!
Stay Alive Nurse Juss and all the fabulous healthcare workers! We'll do whatever just so you can stay alive xx
We need more people like you in the world
Posted this 3 weeks ago.
Love this perspective!
Thank you, in this world seems easy to think we are all alone, but we aren't.
It's great comment, but this is just the thied reply in these four years.
Well you're still alone though
Yes…
same here dude, but the faith can't be escaped... it's about the way of thinking. do you have courage to get out? and be what you want to be?
same here lads
dont give up dudes :))
everyone should have that courage to reach out be who they want to b
goodluck for you buddy ;)
Jose Gonzalez is the soundtrack to my life.
I wish my life sounded that good lol :)
cuchelo1 I feel you bro
He is also in the band Junip that's also on the soundtrack.
I have a terminal illness and I have listened to this on repeat all day. My eyes are swollen from the tears. Please folks go out and live! I am 44 and dying from two, separate primary cancers with stage 4 liver failure. I have SO many regrets!😢😢😢
that's heavy.
don't regret what you've done dude. past is the past and set in stone but even if it's days
please make them count
Glad you share that with us
I can relate. Don't fear death, there is something beautiful out there. Our energy just keeps traveling on.
Dude im proud of u
Don't give up
Im completely strange person just want u to be strong
Read about islam if u have the time
I will pray for you, I've heard it's beautiful on the other side though
I NEED to say that there was a time a couple years ago I NEEDED to listen to this song to NOT commit suicide. And now when I listen to it, it's about abuse and recovery for me and its SO much more powerful! It has touched my real heart more than once. I hope someone knows that over there. You have no idea what this song did for me more than once...
Do whatever just to stay alive...
Glad you are still here Beverly. Sometimes there are things that we do not know/understand, but we somehow manage to resist it and face it, just like you did. Life only demands for strong heart.
It gave you a new day, after there no more
We're glad you stayed
Wow... would like to know youre story
Glad you pulled through!
Jose Gonzalez is therapy.
Try some emeli sande or india arie too mate x
Balaj Prasanna if you want therapy there is a song called cheaper than therapy by rogue wave that is amazing...works just as well
Life music.
Elliott Smith touches my soul in a similar way
For real❤💯
🔥
I used to listen to this song every single morning for 3 years. I was in deep depression. I felt like nobody cared for me or loved me, but listening to this song made me feel like someone did. I never thought who it was but it felt like someone gave me a tight hug every day, singing this song to me. Months ago, I just got baptized as a Christian and I'm now recovering. I realized it was God all along who used this song to give me a reason to stay alive and not commit suicide. I still listen to this song every day, but I now have a clue who it was who loved me and continues to love me.
I had somehow the same experience and it was God who helped me trough this song...its amazing!
i feel like that now
God is always good!
God bless you 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
That's a bit ironic since, although the lyrics to this song is written by Ryan Adams, Jose Gonzalez is an outspoken atheist and has stated that he always tries to create music that has humanism and a secular world view foremost.
Not a slight towards you at all. I just found it a little ironic. All the best.
actually had tears at the ending of the movie..
when he saw the cover of the last Magazine...left me thinking of life and whats important
Same here.
One of the best endings to any movie I have ever seen.
Дэн, привет. Можешь по русски в двух словах? Спасибо.
I agree . You Beautifully expressed ! Very moving film. Pleasantly surprised. Up there with my favourites ❤
Your Godamn right it's a good movie !
The movie is awesome I can relate n this song touches me for some reason
"Stay Alive"
There's a rhythm in rush these days
Where the lights don't move and the colors don't fade
Leaves you empty with nothing but dreams
In a world gone shallow
In a world gone lean
Sometimes there's things a man cannot know
for gears won't turn and the leaves won't grow
There's no place to run and no gasoline
Engines won't turn and the train won't leave
Engines won't turn and the train won't leave
I will stay with you tonight
Hold you close 'til the morning light
In the morning watch a new day rise
We'll do whatever just to stay alive
We'll do whatever just to stay alive
Well the way I feel is the way I write
It isn't like the thoughts of the man who lies
There is a truth and it's on our side
Dawn is coming
Open your eyes
Look into the sun as the new days rise
And I will wait for you tonight
You're here forever and you're by my side
I've been waiting all my life
To feel your heart as it's keeping time
We'll do whatever just to stay alive
[4x]
Dawn is coming
Open your eyes
Look into the sun as the new days rise
There's a rhythm in rush these days
Where the lights don't move and the colors don't fade
> Leaves you empty with nothing but dreams
> In a world gone shallow
> In a world gone lean
but there is a truth and it's on our side
Dawn is coming
Open your eyes
Look into the sun as the new days rise
Do you like Anime?

This, and all the songs from the Walter Mitty movie is just hauntingly beautiful! José Gonzalez is fantastic.
Crazy how it's been 10 years already. But the relatability is everlasting!
I grew up with this in the back of my head, its as you say everlasting
4:01 Got some Max Caulfield vibes right now
i know right
Max's famous shot might be a reference to this clip.
***** I like to think it that way too haha
Holy shit dude, I never thought of that!! That's so Cool! :D
***** "Coincidence? I THINK NOT!"
You're stronger than you think, and capable of so much more than you realize 💕
thank you.
This is a beautiful visualization. Thank you 🙏
♥️
You were in Bosnia 😍 That's country next to mine 🥰
Anyway, I'm happy you found peace in religion and even though anxiety can still be around, I believe it's easier to deal with it 🤗
It looks you have shared my story brother, i am going through the same phase brother
Took me 8 years to discover this masterpiece! ...beautiful just beautiful.
My new sister-in-law walked down the aisle to this yesterday. I cried.
lmao
+Valentina Doloeras what's funny sis?
Because her sister in law is doing whatever to stay alive.
That's a beautiful story
Jose Gonzalez is one of my major influences as a songwriter and musician. So authentic and real.
Completely agree, this movie spoke to me like few movies ever do, this song did the same
I take film studies and my teacher told us that you shouldn't trust critics and instead look at the user ratings.
I am a novice Stoic. I was moved to tears by the comments on this site.
The song gives hope that life is
worth living.
And loved the movie, the secret life of Walter Mitty.
"Beautiful things don't ask for attention."
💗
When Sean Penn character said that, that quote stuck with me the hardest.
A punch in the face of Instagram, Facebook, UA-cam, Instagram and all the other time wasting platforms because people are desperately asking for attention (yeah, I know, written on UA-cam)
Hmm,,,🤔 rather contrary to "like most beautiful things, ones like to be seen."
My wife…
I have so many reasons why this is my favorite movie of all time, and the soundtrack only adds to that. Thank you.
I love listening to this, it never get old and makes me tear up every time I hear it.
So you like crying on the job-site? Time to get a new job, pal.
not good, you have to cry on your own time.
justanotherbum007, ***** lol, super old comment here, but to clarify, cry as in tear up because the song is beautiful, when I say working I mean working on stuff in general, also I'm not even at the legal age yet to have any job yet.
*****
holy shit, you are a wizard, hehe Yeah spot on.
All of the sudden, this all makes sense. Waaaaah!
IT TOUCHES MY SOUL.
True artist!
It always makes me feel..... just feel. Incredible.
After reading a few of the comments so I decided to spend my time reading all the comments which inspire me so much.
THIS SONG IS A BEAUTY. Listen to it since 2014 and I never get tired of it.
I'm gonna live life to its fullest potential.
To me years later reading this.
I couldn't help but smile when I read this, my dream is to move to Canada and mountain bike in the summer and snowboard in the winter
My dad passed away from Covid in 2020 and every time I hear this song I just tear up. Miss you dad.
same here...its a difficult phase

The secret life of Walter mitty and the music involved changed my life... I started running... I've been running ever since, not away.. but towards my life
I just watched the movie again, for the fourth time, after years not seeing it. Now I have to conclude that is my favourite movie of all time.
Perfect soundtrack for an amazing movie
Joonie's Galaxy What is the name of the movie
En liten Bil The secret life of Walter Mitty
I just love that ticking in the background. One may interpret it in various ways, I just think about it as inevitable passage of time with each day. For a person like me, an introvert it reminds me that life is too damn short and step by step I try new things. This song sort of brings me hope.
Listening to this song while I'm on a train to a mountain trip with the boys. What a blessing to ears! 😌
You put that in to words perfectly
Alisha Ault Thank you (:
Reading your words while listening to this song, I just experienced a magical moment! Beautifully written...Thank You!!!

I’ve been listening to this song on repeat for the past 3 hours. I love it so much.
Watched the movie a few times guess I missed one of the best parts
Bruh whenever I play this song , it brings to my attention the walls of the room , and how I’m in it ….and that there is a whole world outside these walls of work place … and it instantly brings me to tears . Damn.
Walter Mitty is just a fantastic movie it is so great in its entirety
One of the most perfect and inspired choices for an end credits song I can think of. Whilst not a masterpiece, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was a really, really enjoyable film and this track was the perfect fit to play as it ended.
I second your opinion, found the movie out of no where too.....
Hope you and your family are doing well, man.

I've been all over the world.. with very little money.. just love life.. good luck hope you all think of that
Heyy... I just read through the comments. How did you travel so much, with less money? May I know... Can u help me
I read this and my greatest fear is not and i dont know how to do It, im still far away from being responsible for myself but the prospect scared me
the secret life of walter mitty and its soundtracks is like the most inspiring thing ever
Thanks, Michael. I needed to hear that right now. :)
This is a song for those who were misread or never noticed regardless how much effort they put into their LIFE....thank you “Walter Mitty” for this glorious outlook on how much beauty can come from just living in the moment and having the strength to embrace it.... that’s true courage!!
"To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other and feel. That is the purpose of life."

This song never gets old. It helps me while going through my depression. I LOVE IT. Thank you for making this song
Anyone here coz if blacklist the season finale? This brought me to tears, I hope my life will make sense to me someday, as I'm fighting to stay alive

Time to watch Secret Life of Walter Mitty again.
it's a great lyric, great movie too, i think many people out there have a life like walter mitty, including me
I felt the same way so i hopped on an airplane. Now i'm couch surfing in China, playing at bars and teaching English. Go live the dream, my friend!
Dallas Dwayne Good work. I'm doing the same, but my dream's at home.
The movie isn't about Iceland, at all, it's about you doing you.
dah p ka iceland ?
I relate heavily to this movie and the songs accurately respresent the optimistic and dreamy state I live in. I constantly see myself doing more and I am just trying to retire as quick as I can so I can live my dreams out.
This song I often dedicate to myself.....I keep forgetting how important self love is.....this song helps me calm down.....Can't thank you enough!
My crush recommended me this movie! I absolutely love her recommendations! Great movie, beautiful songs!
This is the definition of a truely inspiring song
I feel you.. just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone..
Felicidades x tu inglés. Soy española yo.
So um you just shared to at least one person round the world, don't ever stop day dreaming, turn them into realities.....
Just turned 16 in america so I can drive now
My favorite song from "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."
An amazing song for an amazing movie
What's the name of the movie?
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Thank you
no prob =)
I am from Ukraine in 2022. And the song takes on a new meaning ... I really hugged my loved one at night, just to see the dawn in the morning and be alive ... It's very difficult and painful, but hope lives in our hearts. Thanks for the teasing!!!
Knowing the blacklist is over and this is the last song they went with fills my heart with so much. It's too overwhelming
the secret life of walter mitty is so inspirational and iconic makes u wanna go straight to the airport and go wherever the wind takes u ( cant do that in 2020 though quarantine hopefully yrs from now ppl reading this wont be in quarantine)
