      Me too. We smoked trout, and up in MI we smoked suckers.

    Didn’t many folks eat them where I grew up in Arkansas. But here in southern Indiana they just fry them up right in with the crappie. Yummy

    I grew up in Iowa and fished on the Mississippi all the time and we would catch and eat sheepshead all the time, but you're right, most people up here think its a trash fish. I grilled some for some fish tacos and I changed the minds of a couple of them. One other tip, if you want to fry them, cube them up and soak them in pickle juice or frank's redhot, they taste great.

    I’ve never consumed freshwater drum, goo, sheepshead before, but I will give it a try. We used to smoke whitefish quite often and up here in Michigan we used applewood.

    Great video John. I've smoked Kingfish and Bluefish. I liked the Bluefish better. We do very similar smoking times.

    My wife telling me to get a smoker... for me to smoke food. Never done it before and don’t know if I’ll have time for it. I know mostly food just sits there, but never the less. Is that a good smoker you use?

      Its a very good smoker, and the best thing about it is that it is very simple to use.
