Oh the talent is still there make no mistake about it but speaking as a musician and songwriter myself now in my mid 40's and with a plethora of software, hardware and youtube at my disposal, I find that I just can't be arsed searching for other musicians to form a decent band and when I do find myself in my studio I just end up wasting time procrastinating. I might be suffering from depression I don't know but given the current state of the music industry today........ well that's enough to depress anyone. LOL
Kevin had a great voice. Those four could've putout 20 fresh and ridiculously good LPs if things had aligned just right - but I'm sure happy there are a few...and happy to have this video. Thank you!
Wow!! Never seen this. As an old 10 cc fan from 1973 + This was eye and ear candy. Cried like a little wuss as these 2 songs evoke very specific emotions for me. Ah the power of music! Amazing. Audience were not aware of the greatness that played feet in front of them. The original lineup crushed it. Just a thought; if XTC and 10 cc re-united for a tour, what would the tour be called?
Great band. Saw them live in 1975. After the split I followed Godley and Creme most closely. But Deceptive Bends was a great album. Saw 10cc again a few days ago and They still Sound great.
seen 10cc live on three occasions they were superb, it was a great shame when they split as theyve said themselves it was the wrong decission on reflection. However i must say if they did reform id be first in the que to buy tickets.
I'll be right behind you. I wasnt paying attention back in those days, but it's sure nice to catch up on this fine, fine band. They certainly leave a great musical legacy.
Quand la musique était intelligente. L’Angleterre a donné au monde les plus belles musiques, Purcell, Blow, Greene, Handel, Beatles, PinkFloyd, XTC, Ten CC ... love England, Rock and Baroque❤️
I lost interest in 10cc after the split and ended my following after listening to their next 2 albums "Deceptive bends" & "Bloody Tourists". Something had definately gone from the group. But an exceptional group of artists who wrote, played & produced a lot of their own music. The days of this kind of professionalism have definately gone. Still "LONG LIVE 10CC"
Actually, if you put together the best songs from the Bends and Tourists with the best Godley & Creme songs (Samson, Joey's Camel, Freeze Frame, Englishman, My Body's a Car, 5 O'Clock in the Morning, you'll get a brilliant late 10CC double album.
Can't imagine the 'Phone fidgeting' generation taking any value from this performance. Nuance and timbre out the door, replaced by 'What did I miss syndrome'. Health and safety would have to be on hand to deal with the withdrawl symptoms. Perish the little bleeders !
I wish I could still be in that band that's why I got in to a band best band ever the real 10cc must get back Please I was in a band called assassin then restless dog my story is amazing you will find out 😊
I think that is some kind of version of the Gizmotron. It sounds a lot like the intro to 'In the Evening' by Led Zep which is a Gizmotron. Anybody know for certain?
cdbogush that guitar sustaining gadget was their invention which they tried to market: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gizmo It was rather too complicated to take off commercially, but it certainly added to the sound.
One of the best English bands of the seventies!
In terms of equal distribution of talents in musicianship (songwriting, singing and playing) 10CC is truly unparalleled
Yeah, they really were. A shame this lineup didn’t last longer.
Kevin and Eric's vocals are so so clear. Gives me goose bumps even now.
What an assemblage of genuine TALENT!!!!
Yes pure genius 10 cc queen incredible talent but they were not as gud as 100 cc simple as the meerkat says
Imagine a band like this now? each member could write, play and sing to a supremely high standard. Those days are gone alas.
Right! Drum machines and auto - tune has revolutionized the world and made real talent a thing of the past.
Now you're lucky if anyone in "the band" ( a term I use VERY loosely) has any talent. But don't worry....there's always Pro Tools.
it's still there, just doesnt get recognised as such. A and R people have no balls
yes, simply brilliant....

Wow, Kevin Godley had one heck of a voice. I had no idea. They will always be among my favorite bands.
2021 saw the release of his 1st solo album, Muscle Memory, at the age of 75 -- and it's truly excellent.
He really does. I recall Gouldman saying he had the best voice out of them all but never sang lead by himself on one of their singles.
SUCH A FANTASTIC SONG! 10CC HAD MANY!
Waiting for a miracle, please get back together and make so many people happy, best band ever!
Our culture and society need your loving example
Would be the greatest dream come true, for me to see you perform. Loves and peace brothers
The only one who is instrument wise still up to it is Mr. Gouldman.
BTW, See here what an excellent bass player he is.
@@krollpeter without Graham I wouldn't have rediscovered 10cc..and their brilliant first 6 albums..seen them 5 times this year
Eric Stewart...just yum!❤
Kitty Vaughn seriously, such a babe and talent
@@LisaBellaDonnaMusic ...I have said this several times on here...my generation had THE best music ever!☮
Lol ❤️
Brilliantly inventive band
Kevin's voice is fantastic even now🎵☺💕
Kevin godley superb voice truly a legend his video work incredible watch and learn
The Gizmo...ALMOST...always worked.
Good call !
They all had fabulous voices. And could play brilliantly, produce and write.
Kevin had a great voice. Those four could've putout 20 fresh and ridiculously good LPs if things had aligned just right - but I'm sure happy there are a few...and happy to have this video. Thank you!
Just perfect. Miss these guys immensely.
Bit like the Beatles, three great guitarists, three great vocalists and one good (oh, and creative geniuses as well!)
They all sang great and had hits with each one being the vocalist.
You mean like the Eagles
Kevin Godley's voice is sublime...such tone
Kevin Godley was also a good artist I have a picture he drew of Peter Noone
One of the greatest songs ever written. Also listen to Waterfall - incredible songs well sung.
Wow!! Never seen this. As an old 10 cc fan from 1973 + This was eye and ear candy. Cried like a little wuss as these 2 songs evoke very specific emotions for me. Ah the power of music! Amazing. 10CCs of XTC?!
Great band. Saw them live in 1975. After the split I followed Godley and Creme most closely. But Deceptive Bends was a great album. Saw 10cc again a few days ago and They still Sound great.
Just wonderful - so glad i saw then perform this back in the mid 70s at Glasgow Apollo!
What a miserable bloody audience! I would have loved to have been there....great band ❤️
Greatest "obscure" rock band in history.
Obscure and brilliant 😇
seen 10cc live on three occasions they were superb, it was a great shame when they split as theyve said themselves it was the wrong decission on reflection. However i must say if they did reform id be first in the que to buy tickets.
Wish I could go back in time and be in the same room with them. Even if it was only once!
I'll be right behind you. I wasnt paying attention back in those days, but it's sure nice to catch up on this fine, fine band. They certainly leave a great musical legacy.
Saw them live in Paignton Town Hall do the whole of Sheet Music around this time. Astonishing and still the best concert i have ever seen
Wonderful stuff, thank you Mr Blint
Indeed I do I love that song its an incredible duet
All four guys as one. Truely Amazing. Love them.
play this at my funeral for sure!
Beautiful! Great quality. Thank you :-)
Quand la musique était intelligente. L’Angleterre a donné au monde les plus belles musiques, Purcell, Blow, Greene, Handel, Beatles, PinkFloyd, XTC, Ten CC ... love England, Rock and Baroque❤️
Musical Craftsmanship. Awesome!
Just one word is needed to describe this: sublime
Amazing to see this. An absolute privilige....😊
Love Eric & Kevin’s voices 🙏🎼
One of my favourite songs
The audience look like they turned up for University Challenge but ended up in a live gig!
Kevin what a singer
Old Wild Men "LIVE" Damn.
delicious...worldclass...live
There is no better band than 10çc.
Added to my faves. Quality A+
Kevin Godley was the best singer in the group, incredible angelic voice
I lost interest in 10cc after the split and ended my following after listening to their next 2 albums "Deceptive bends" & "Bloody Tourists". Something had definately gone from the group. But an exceptional group of artists who wrote, played & produced a lot of their own music. The days of this kind of professionalism have definately gone. Still "LONG LIVE 10CC"
deceptive bends and bloody tourists are both great to me!
Oh I get that. Each to his own...:)
Imagine if they had stayed together, what music there would have been.
Actually, if you put together the best songs from the Bends and Tourists with the best Godley & Creme songs (Samson, Joey's Camel, Freeze Frame, Englishman, My Body's a Car, 5 O'Clock in the Morning, you'll get a brilliant late 10CC double album.
The guy at the end in the audience was awakened by the applause.
And for all these years I thought it was Eric Stewart singing lead on Fresh Air for my Mamma!
Outrageously talented
Best seventies band
40 years ago... wow
And that band had the most handsome man in the world: Eric.
Sweet and astonishing excellent
Always loved Eric's red les paul standard.
It was stolen from the hammersmith odeon
The second group I ever saw gig. Sept, I think, 1974 Hull City Hall.
The English Steely Dan.
Superb. Feel the Benefit is better than Bohemian Rhapsody
brill band, was visiting Strawberry studios, Stockport, its an empty building now
I've got this show's DVD.
Where did you find it?
The Gizmotron!
2:54 onwards - "hey Eric, which string am I meant to be playing?!"
Gizmotron. Little rubber wheels rubbing against the strings.
Can't imagine the 'Phone fidgeting' generation taking any value from this performance. Nuance and timbre out the door, replaced by 'What did I miss syndrome'. Health and safety would have to be on hand to deal with the withdrawl symptoms. Perish the little bleeders !
i wonder if Page used THAT rig...not a commercial Gizmotron unit.
adorooo
supergroup
Was James Hunt in the audience?
Where's Part 3????
I wish I could still be in that band that's why I got in to a band best band ever the real 10cc must get back Please I was in a band called assassin then restless dog my story is amazing you will find out 😊
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
INCREDIBLE..... GOOD to see again.. you guys need to hook up with Todd Rundgren.. now
Indeed he does but ironically all the singes released Kevin didn't sing on any of them which is a shame
I think that is some kind of version of the Gizmotron. It sounds a lot like the intro to 'In the Evening' by Led Zep which is a Gizmotron. Anybody know for certain?
Lol Creme invented the Gizmo, Brock
Soon later they could make similar orchestral sound with synths. It was the (predictable) end of the gizmo.
I never knew that Kevin Godley ever sang lead. I thought he was backup only. Pretty good voice. But did he sing Fresh Air on the album?
Yes
Kev actually has more range than Eric but both are incredible.
Was this the first time we saw the "Gismo" in action?
bit psychedelic..experimental sound definitely different to the 10cc I'm familiar with
Is that James Hunt in the first shot?
I thought that too.
ti's looking like Björn Borg ... 0:04
Gizmo...
I dated a girl who had dated Kevin Godley :)
killer
Steven Wright on vocals.. incredible!
Who is Steven Wright?
Comedian. Very droll way of speaking.
Where the hell is the rest of it?
This audience pissed me off
Did anyone notice James Hunt in the audience at 0.04? It was him wasn't it?
If it wasn’t he’s got a twin😂
pre e-bow
cdbogush that guitar sustaining gadget was their invention which they tried to market: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gizmo It was rather too complicated to take off commercially, but it certainly added to the sound.
They never get credit it seems I remember when the E bow came out and I thought well That's the gizmo but easier
cdbogush One advantage of the gizmo, it worked for a full chord, an ebow only works with individual notes.
Let's cut to the two most bored people in the audience.
Audience looks really bored.
They're listening and appreciating.
Tv audiences are instructed to shut up and sit still by the producers
Only out of England....
