I am South African, and most of us love Nigerian people, Nigeria as a country, the culture and the history. Just a handful of undesireables in our population that give us and all black people a bad name. But you will see in the future increased cooperation between the two countries that will lead Africa on a sustainable industrialization path. A new era of wealth and prosperity is heading to Africa and our two countries will be the anchors.

And there's not much you can do about that as a liberal, democratic and capitalist country either than deteriorating the country's economy or changing the economic system.

So what wethu, well sister that is good to know. I'm definitely going to visit Africa in the near future. Just getting my list together and still doing research to finalize my list. South Africa and Namibia wasn't on my original list until I just happen upon it in my research countries. My primary focus was on the countries where African Americans came from like Senegal, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ghana. I will definitely be visiting those countries. South Africa and Namibia I just developed a liking for the beauty of those countries. South Africa didn't exactly experience slavery, but they experienced hell too in their past so I guess we can say we have similar past. For that reason alone we should have a connection with each other. Also found out that despite South Africa being a very metropolitan area, the cost of living is cheap compared to America. I love that a lot. I'm even thinking about moving there if I like it like I think I am, but the only thing that scares me is the crime and the potential uprising that may happen. Also, will I get attacked for being a black man from America. I read the local men there don't like foreign men, especially from Nigeria. I'm not from Nigeria, but they don't know that. I don't look Nigeria and I'm tall so they will probably think that I look American black. What is a nice city for an black American male to move to in South Africa if I choose this country as my new temporary/permanent home? I will always be going back and forth to America though since I have family here. But I definitely want to experience living in the Motherland where most of the people I see are black. That will be a different experience for me growing up in the states where it's almost 70 percent white vs South Africa which is 80 percent black.

So what wethu..so what in your opinion do you think which city I will feel best in as an America? Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Pretoria? I know it's a difficult question to answer so let me ask it this way. Which city do you like the best? As far as the high crime rate in South Africa. As long as the crime is localized then I can deal with it. In America the crimes are usually in certain areas so you know what areas to avoid. If it's like that in South Africa then I can deal with it? I can pretty much handle myself anyway, but I will still like to avoid it. Thanks for your replies and knowledge.

Bohoo sad, ain’t it😢😢 too bad we don’t really care and also the Way some South Africans talk you’d think South Africa is really perfect and could be maybe compared to the residence of Angels when it’s far too too far from perfection hell, it’s not even high income country and the GDP of Nigeria surpasses that of our good ole’ mighty “SA”. So next before looking for a country to diss please select properly and we shouldn’t even be having this conversation because Africa is “supposed” to be united even though some people will never let it, I rest my Case while still being a proud Ikwerre and Okirika Nigerian of the South-south region. God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 and help South Africa 🇿🇦 🇿🇦

Stop showing those old crappy phone's.... Nigeria people uses the best smart phones there in Nigeria. I visited that country last year for a Nigerian friend traditional wedding. We all travelled to Nigeria west africa for his traditional wedding... His wife came from area of Nigeria called igbo Land... I saw lots of mansions. But the problem is that there's no steady electricity... every house there uses lister generator and not a single good highway road at that area. But the are very lovely, rich and welcoming. I saw some of the best exotic cars and lots of industries. I saw cars that is 94% made & produce in Nigeria called IVM motors. I love Nigerian people so much. Nigerians own many private hospital's, hotels, care homes and businesses in UK. The are one of Top leading doctor's & nurses in my country England UK. 90% of black university lecturers and black professors in UK are originally from Nigeria. Gatwick airport London is owned by A Nigerian man, Edinburgh airport Scotland is owned by a Nigerian man, one of the top airport in Australia is owned by a Nigerian man... Italo train Italy is owned by a Nigerian. Bifa company in London is owned by a Nigerian & they own thousands of properties across UK especially in London. I love them so much.... very smart black people. They made me have so much love for black people. ((Social media & Google only knew how to give bad names to Nigerians... crime is everywhere... we also have huge numbers of white British & white American fraudsters... Killers, drug dealers, murderers, we have worst & We have the most brutal paedophiles, We have most dangerous rapist, we have bad ass heist gangs.... Even our government stole billions from Nigeria & entire Africa)) Stop looking down on Nigerians Period! [[ I COPIED THIS FROM ONLINE ARTICLE THAT A WHITE MAN WROTE ABOUT NIGERIA]] “So South Africans should shut up because without Nigeria you guys couldn’t have gotten your independence from white european South Africans... You guys should also remember that both tabo Mbeki & Mandela both lived in Nigeria as asylum seekers. Nigeria gave South African black more than 3billion during apartheid Government. I think well of South Africa in summary. I won't mention those that were already discussed in the video.
Positive: When I hear South Africa, I remember Honourables Mmusi Maimane, Julius Malema, Floyd Shivambu, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, Gardee, Steenhuisen, the EFF, the COPE, etc. I like the active interaction that happens in their parliament. Most South Africans I have met usually feel embarrassed about their parliament but I think the ACTIVE participation is good for democracy and it can help to keep their leaders in check.
Negative: I think South Africans are very ungrateful people, with regard to Nigeria as a Nation. I always hear them sing the praises of western nations that helped them in the struggle against apartheid(which is not bad) but never have I heard, even their current leaders, acknowledge that Nigeria was the biggest investor in the fight against apartheid in South Africa(SA). Starting from the early 1970s, workers in Nigeria contributed 2% of their monthly salaries, students skipped their lunch in school WILLINGLY in order to contribute to help liberate SA from apartheid. In Nigeria, then it was popularly known as "Mandela tax". About $5 million was given to the African National Congress(ANC) and the Pan Africanist Congress(PAC) ANNUALLY from Nigeria alone, of course you know what for. Nigerian refused selling oil to SA in protest to the white minority rule and lost over $41 billion at that time. And more sacrifices that I may not have enough time to list out here, but if you're interested to know more you can simply Google search "Nigeria's contribution to fight apartheid". The lovely part is that no strings were attached to this generosity, Nigeria gained NOTHING from SA for all the funds spent thinking we were helping our fellow African brothers and sisters.
In the last 5-6 years, I almost hated SA-ans but I realized that most of the xenophobia "champions" are ignorant and uneducated people being manipulated(for political reasons, I think) and that I may understand. But it's sad when I come across SA-ans in Europe and they talk trash about Nigerians based on popular stereotypes gotten from a few bad eggs.
At the end of it all, I just hope that the young SA-ans are taught more about what Zimbabweans, Zambians, Namibians, Nigerians and other African countries risked to support SA(actually the then ANC) to fight apartheid. Even if a country didn't contribute a dime, for whatever reasons, their citizens still don't deserve to be treated that horribly(as per xenophobia), especially not NIGERIANS.

This video breaks my HEART, Africans will never be United as long we keep on comparing one another without helping each other and understanding where we come from and how we have being destroyed... when your brother is broken you lift him up,, so far I've not seen an African UA-camr spreading positivity to lift African people... We Africans need to think, train ourselves to think critically, saying South Africans are lazy that's preposterous and rubbish my brothers and sisters, we need to read bcs knowledge is power, and while you reading you'll understand there's what we call a Research , we don't just assume and it is wrong to assume, South Africans perceive my Brothers from Nigeria as drug dealers cos the environment the majority of us are in, fact is majority of my Nigerian brothers sell drugs, we can't argue about the facts, it is what we are exposed to !! you need to come to South Africa and observe what we are talking about..... Now let's talk about the killings and evil things our brothers and sister are doing to Nigerians, to understand the reasons we first need to ask ourselves what's wrong with the minds of those very few Souh Africans do perform such evil deeds.. when a black man fight his own kind we don't assume but we know the problem is division and we Africans are divided and because of technology and media , we feed this evil information that divides and make us hate one another, we are new to these things.. now we praise each other not as an entire United group.. We need to change that mentality bcs now as we speak someone in Africa who's not South African hates this video bcs it's praising South Africa which is in Africa and not them, why not praise Africa as a whole bcs South Africa is part of Africa.. now back to these stereotypes from white people which now have infected the minds of my African brothers , stereotype saying your own blood, your brothers and sisters from South Africa are lazy, we first need to look at what apartheid did to their minds, they were forced to live in congested unhealthy environment, separated and their minds taught itself about division that's why there was a tribal civil war in South Africa, where a certain group of people speaking certain South African language saw itself better than the other.. where did they learn this ? You know where... my people , your people were re living in poor environment, and being born in a poor environment as a kid growing up you start to believe being poor as a way of life bcs you spent tears and already adapted therefore you are comfortable living In that condition since you all your life you where never exposed to wealth .. and I was like that also until I was adopted by my High school teacher and as i moved from an uncomfortable location to a more comfortable location my mind started to think positive, I saw people like myself driving nice cars and I started telling myself education is the only thing that will take me there... Africans never call a Black man lazy, never call yourself lazy.. read about your own history then you'll understand black people were once powerful beings on earth before western forces divided us... I am crying for my people to wake up

Look, I think we all have some bias, or preconceived notions about other countries. But I also think that all cultures have so much to teach and accepting the differences in cultures and cherishing our differences with respect as opposed to seeing it as negativity, would benefit all involved. I think trade needs to be increased between South Africa and the rest of Africa. South Africa should allow the rule of law to prevail. Foreign criminals should be extradited to their country after serving time. Xenophobia and notorious armed robberies giving South Africa a very bad image. Considering a lot of Nigerians contributed to your freedom by financing ANC during the struggle and educating a lot of your leaders today at our expense in Nigerian secondary schools and university's . What a messy ending you've put on this comment. I think you need to be on the ground to fully understand why SAns have become volatile towards most Nigerians. Granted there are honest and hardworking communities of them here, who make an honest living but you all need to start being honest with yourselves. There is clearly a serious problem with the way Nigerians have succumbed to the idea of making crime their means of survival. This problem is not only in S.A it's everywhere! Secondly I think you're being big headed by even thinking you ended that regime for us. I understand that S.A had a lot of help from the world but that certainly does not mean we must spend the rest of our eternity repaying it. We are a hospitable nation but often this gets taken for granted and abused, with people claiming we're lazy and stupid- when in fact most of us still have a conscience, believe in honest hard work and no amount of money can make us take the short cuts most Nigerians choose. S.A has the most accommodative immigration policies in Africa but we still have millions of immigrants who insist on living unlawfully. Upon that they live in communities which are now purely populated by them and live peacefully in. It is only in townships were issues escalate and this mostly due to political influences. I am always keen to know where in Africa are there areas like Parklands in Cape Town, or South Beach in Durban, even Yoeville, Hillbrow, Rosettenville and the practically the whole of Johannesburg, that actually accommodate foreign nationals with or without correct documentation. Where they can thrive in their businesses without any interference from the government or any form of legislation. There are probably a hand full of countries that do not have countrymen who are in S.A. We're the only country in the world that have relaxed our immigration laws so much that we accommodate foreign nationals more than our patriots. So before you make such backhanded remarks do your research.

iFeel like this video is doctored and most of the Nigerians (if not all) expressing their thoughts are already in SA. They seem careful with how they talk about the negative aspect to SA. In your other video where South Africans talked about Nigeria, they served it raw. It was obvious they was in their comfort zone and could say everything they wanted.
Come to think of it, we had more GOOD stuff to say about SA than BAD stuff and iThink that's cos the video was doctored and even if it wasn't, Nigerians are not too quick to shoot at someone else without considerations (our morals are just too much that it sometimes get in the way of seeing evil even when it stands in front of us). It's just funny how we can get very hard on ourselves instead of foreigners. Looking through the comment's iStill see a lot of positive comments from Nigerians about SA. Why can't South Africans just be that way? iThink iHave the answer to that... It's because they can't (you just can't be someone else except you are acting).
SA, give Nigeria a chance in your mind. We are goodder than badder. iHope you see that soon enough.

None of you are asking why the SA economy is thriving so much...It's white monopoly capital which has established an economic powerhouse conducive to the advancement of white South Africa. Zimbabwe is a perfect example of what happens when you kick out the boer.

I believe that Africa as many other places have a little bit of everything. They have good experiences and there are some bad things too. But as a whole I will say it's wonderful.
