Stampede - The Lion King The Broadway Musical Stage Model

This is a stage model I made of The Stampede scene from Disney THE LION KING | Award-Winning Best Musical . This model was built to be 1:12 scale with mostly painted laser cut cardboards, and lots of 3D printed details. The model was automated with tracks and fly bars to move sceneries. In this model I used a combination of actual theater lighting equipment and miniature led lights. The lighting was controlled by DMX signal.

It’s my favorite musical for a reason, I just saw the traveling cast in my hometown an hour ago, it still holds up from when I was a kid

I have wanted this exact video to be released for the longest time, thank you so much for uploading this. It’s so cool how the wildebeast are done in layers at different sizes to make the gorge feel huge. I’d love to see more views of the other lion king sets someday
Whoa it almost looks like the one from the Broadway Musical and all of those Wildebeests on Rollers in the Back and on Tractors (From the US Tours) in the front

You nailed all the details about it and how we get hooked up on the line. Not sure if you know but gewenzsko knows I played Young Simba on Broadway and Tour. I didn't think you were going to get the line hook up on simba part cause usually the audience is distracted. Funny thing its a stage manager in a ghilly suit hooking us up then tapping us on the back knows we're ready to go instead of yelling at us as our mic's are on.
Oh yeah whenever i see the Lion King Musical i sometimes see someone in a ghillie Wildebeest Suit (Whether that be a Male or a Female) during the Stampede scene hooking Young Simba to climb upon a Tree Branch it's too bad there's no Video or Photos of a Stage Manager wearing the Ghillie Wildebeest Suit
@@johnhorton1527I never paid that much attention as a child. But after being in a theater choir for most of my teenage and adult years we were on the theater stage a lot and got to know some of the brilliant technology there. It’s so interesting when you experience this first as an audience and then later as someone who knows a thing or two about staging.

Omg.. I watched a few of your videos before because I am interested in this whole stage system stuff. I recreated the lion king in Minecraft on my channel (including the stampede) But your Stage Model is waaaay more complex! So awesome. This is so incredible!
