When i lifted my head combustion went in between the cyls causing a nasty backfire. Get some aftermarket heads OR LS9/LSA Heads, get the 1/2" stud kit from tick, and Athena gaskets and dont ever look back.
I've bought an lq4 and had is shipped to Romania...the total cost of getting it here exceeded the total build cost of your engine by a couple of thousands... I am planing of turbo it but i am not yet sure on my knowledge about tolerances... maybe you can lead me to a place where I can study a bit more about bearing tolerances and also I dont know how to choose head gaskets if I deck the engine block and cylinder heads... Please if possible lead me on the right direction to learn all this. PS: no one in my country know alot about LS engines... so all I know is from internet reading and youtube videos. Thanks!
Was it because you put 1000hp on it? I plan to LS swap my ecoboost but keep it as a street car. 350-400hp Turbo. Do you think that would lower the chances of engine damage?
why don't you take the blocks to a machine-shop to get fire-rings installed so your boost doesn't blow out your gaskets.or is rebuilding junkyard ls engines cheaper?

how u gonna only make 350-400 hp with turbo LS motor?🤨
Hope you figured out that .125 over bore is too much for the 5.3.
Cannot understand why your machine shop did this.
Sorry about your motor. Sick car by the way. Just out of curiosity can you sleeve the motor or no?
You can, it costs more than getting another junkyard motor, especially to do all 8. Darton makes some nice sleeves though

Should’ve kept the GTO. 🤷♂️
