    It was good that you showed the fist failed attempt before finding the solution on the next attempt. It helps to show that you ruled out other areas of the stem causing the creaking issue. Like a lot of Australians, I love your vids!

    My Achilleus just started creaking after the first ride, appreciate the video! I also added teflon tape around the stem then the silicone spray and its gone 100% now!

    Good video getting to the inside of that hinge. You can sandpaper that bezel where it makes contact to the metal and that also offers a big improvement. We've been doing it to a lot of the new models we are seeing.

    Howdy - Thanks for another good video. I tried just about everything to fix the creak on my DT Thunder II stem and even with Teflon film, copper film, lubricants of all sorts and extreme tightening, nothing stopped it completely. But it squeaks no more... I don't fold the stem so I purchased a custom clamp with 6 very strong bolts and after installing, it is rock solid and totally silent. Best of luck to all. Have fun and stay safe.

    cool to see youre riding your storm :D if the creaking comes back, a solution that usually holds up for a longer time is to clean it out like you did, but wrap the part of the stem that you insert with teflon tape, then use black silicone spray on the tape and inside the stem hole. its a bit more permanent :D worked great on my Ultra 2. Another tip is to exchange those folding arms on the clamp for just regular bolts and use a tool to make it super solid with 0% stem wobble. its still easy enough to loosen if you need, but its heck of a lot tighter that way, and you dont have to hurt your hands tightening it.

    Something you might try in the future for things is a product called friction paced. We use it in the bicycle world when we are attaching carbon fiber to carbon fiber it helps it grip and not spin or slip and not have to be over toward it is basically in assembly lube with something like pulverized glass in it basically feels like sandpaper cream it might work really well for things like that

    Thanks to this channel I just got my first scooter - Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Pro(was even lucky to get the facelift version, with the upgraded rear springs and the new side lights. I was amazed by how it performs, how long the battery lasts with me(115 kilos, like every winter) and how fast it goes. With me I was able to reach 65 km/h on my very first ride and got scared.

      Lol. That's a helluva awesome first scooter. I bought a nine bot 2 months ago put 300 miles on it and now upgraded to the varla eagle one. There is absolutely zero comparison. The ninebot is a prius and varla is Lamborghini. The torque will throw you if caught off guard. Have fun. Gear up n b safe

    Great video. The current release Victor now has to the stem glued . So you cannot remove clean or lube. Even if you remove the screws. Not sure if it is the same for the storm.

    Thanks for the video I’m glad you figured it out. 3 weeks ago I just bought MiniMotors new BlueTran Lightning scooter and the same stem and clamp is used from the Dualtron line. I had the squeaky stem 2 or 3 days out of the box. I watched all the Dualtron squeaky stem videos and it just seemed there was an easier way. So like you I sprayed corrosionX on top of the clamp area and my squeaky issue disappeared. Lastly my bad I should have went to Saturday nights ride. Those are so much fun.

    Scooter collection looking good👌do you by chance know what would be wrong with a zero 11x/tw phaeton when all the speed settings are turned up but it only goes around 25mph but says it’s going 7mph? I’m thinking maybe a blown controller but I don’t have any codes so maybe it could be the throttle display or turbo button

    I have the Ultra 2, literally 1 day old, and as I type this after a ride I now have 24 miles on it. I now have a "popping" in the bars similar to whats in this video, just not as severe (yet). My clamp is slightly different and had one QR instead of 2. I replaced the QR with a nut and bolt and got it tightened down more plus greased it. Popping noise got better but still present. When I get a chance later I plan to remove the stem from the upper hinge bracket and try the "clean and cover in grease trick". But if that doesn't work, I was told by Minimotors that I could completely clean and degrease the stem and inside the upper hinge bracket, cover it in red lock-tite, reinstall, tighten the two bolts, and let it sit overnight. He said this works great and is more permanent, but obviously would make it hard to remove the stem if ever needed. Has anyone here tried using lock-tite for this? If so, any feedback?

  • @mpg869
    @mpg869 Рік тому

    Hey. Thanks for the video..i own the varla eagle one and the stem is creaky but not like this .what I did is put a strip of electrical tape at the lower and upper part where it folds. I first cleaned w rubbing alcohol and ONLY WENT AROUND ONE TIME ...there is not enough room ...it's that tight. I haven't tries it yet but it's gotta be better. Any opinions ???? Also. ..what about putting straight bolts through and torque down? It will take more time to fold and you'll need to carry tools but those nuts w the embedded plastic washers x 2 would be super tight. Thanks again for the good vids

    I just got a dualtron and found you need to put a hose clamp on top of the folding clamp to stop it coming loose because rocking the stem back and forth makes the clamp work its way up making a gap that results in stem wobble.

      @GingerOnWheels  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah, I always held Dualtron on a pedestal as 'the best'. No more. Their short wiggly creaky stems are a total buzzkill. Makes it hard to find enough redeeming qualities to justify the cost imo.

      Because Dualtron it's not at fault, neither double QR clamp system. My Spider 2 stem was wobbling out of the box, the reason was both quick releases fit to close on one side which they aren't designed to work correctly. Try to put one of them on the other side, find a sweet spot (not too tight, not too lose).. magic - no wobble, no creaking anymore😊😅

    That was the first thing i did when I got my Dualtron Ultra 2 i made Minimotors NYC cause that's where i got the scooter from they didn't even deliver it to my house i only live about 20min from them i went there picked it up and rode it home but the first thing i did before I left i made them grease the shit out of the stem the bottom part where u were talking about and the top part of the stem where the handlebars are thats was creaking too so he used some crazy black lithium grease then wrapped the stem in some thin plastic and put it back together so the metal shavings dont get on everything again cause thats why its creaking the metal hitting metal but yea that was the first thing i did before even leaving the store i don't know how u could deal with that noise i would go crazy lol
