Thank you so much for addressing the bubble issue! I have tried SO many different techniques with different decorations & still hadn't found THE secret other than just letting them sit in the oven for hours. I just tried your technique of cutting up the gel over the objects & it worked BEAUTIFULLY! I even used apple & orange slices & cinnamon sticks which ALWAYS have bubble problems. I even put cloves & putka pods & they stayed where I put them. The best part is it leaves a few bigger bubbles - I like the candles to have at least some bubbles but I hate the tiny bubbles. My candles are soon going to be sold by someone who saw my Etsy shop & wanted to add them to her store & I was really nervous about not being able to keep up with orders but now I'm all set cuz I know they'll consistently come out the way I like them. Sorry for babbling on - I'm just so excited! I'm just curious though -- I understand why cutting up the gel over the objects works, but how does the pan with the water work? How does that help? @@4Anastasia Thank you so much for the quick reply! Do you mean it keeps the glass hot when you take it out of the oven to set? I think I did something wrong. I either used too much water so that some condensation got in the gel or I might have dripped some water in them when I peaked at them, but in any case, I noticed that, in the center of the candles, the gel was foggy. So I tried a couple without the pan of water and when they were completely melted, I shut off the oven and left them to cool in there, and that worked out well. Perhaps they would have had less bubbles with the pan of water but, like I said, I do like a few bubbles as I think that is a good characteristic of the gel to show off. I even did one with silk flowers and leaves and since you can place everything where you want it in the gel chunks and the gel stays thick enough to hold the objects in place at 195 degrees, it came out awesome! I never thought of doing it this way. The only thing I tried close to this was pouring the gel when it's thick, hoping it would be set by the time it hits the object so that it doesn't let bubbles seep out, but of course that doesn't work. Hey! You mean if you want water to be at the bottom and gel on top? It will sit fine. If you want gel on bottom and water on top. Just make sure you carry it carefully and don’t pour to much of water up to the edges.

Can you layer gel wax? For example making like a layered rainbow in gel wax? Also if you can layer the wax that might solve floating light object issues. Just do a small layer that anchors the ornaments in place then add the rest on top? Anyway, thanks for the video! I always wondered what these whacky clear candles were made of!
Yes you can. But it won’t solve the issues. If you using same color wax and doing layers that means you will see where old wax dryad. So you will see lines all over your candle. If you trying to do different colors than it’s fine since you want to see were new wax starts.

I recommend to get sand for water. That would stay at the Bottom. Or small/tinny rocks vs sand. Also, don’t poor water directly on sand. In this video I show how I poor water over sand. I used IKEA craft sand. ua-cam.com/video/aYUwjVdpE5s/v-deo.html
FINALLY!! I've been trying to make these gel candles for a while now and I can NOT get them to come out without bubbles. I've done about 10 and only 1 of them turned out the way I wanted. I melted the wax on the stove first and poured real slow but when I just came across your tutorial I tried the oven way. So far the smaller ones are doing ok but the 2 larger ones have so many bubbles. Do you think that's just because there's more wax? They're still in the oven at 195 degrees, so I'll leave them a while longer at that temp and hope for the best.
Thank you so much for liking my video. Yes the larger the vase the more bubbles but it's also depends on your ornaments. So let say you used ornaments that are made of something different then glass, that means they have air in them as well. So, it will take even longer for air go out from gel and from your ornaments. After I finished doing mine. I left my large vase for about 3-5 hours in oven and when I took it out I set it above my warm stove and covered it with scarf so it stays in warm place even longer. But working with large vases is always harder then smaller.
just a question. when you light your gel candle with different types of ornaments inside it, will the ornament melt? 2nd question, how long will the water last in the jar with gel on top?
So for my project I'm trying to make candles with suspended flowers. What technique should I use? Should I use water covered with gel wax, just gel wax adding flowers in layers, I'm not sure. Thank you again for the great video!
Good question! I would say depends on Material of your flowers. If they can stay under water without changing shape, add water first and then gel. Flowers under water always looks pretty for my opinion. If your flowers made of plastic for example, hot gel can melt them. And it will Ruin your composition. So think about Material you using first. And then decide if you want it to be only gel, or 50/50. Hope that helps.
@@4Anastasia I was thinking of doing pressed flowers. And hoping that the color stays, trying to use it for wedding centerpieces. This video was extremely helpful
Pressed would look good if you do layers. But if you add layers of wax. In clear vase you will see lines. That’s a downside of this technique. If you can’t see sides, and just top then that’s good technic.
What a great informative video! Thank you so much! I have been using dry flowers to decorate the wine glass while having a tea light holder placed in the center of the glass and poured gel wax around it. It has so many bubbles, i tried to use a heat gun and heat the glass surface, but there are still many small bubbles. I am going to try your way! But because my flowers will move around, i stick the flowers on the glass before i pour the wax. u mentioned not to move when wax is being poured to avoid bubbles. Im going to try this and but should i move the glass to a preheated oven for it to slowly set? Thank you once again!
Hi Anastasia, I am from Singapore and I am a little confused about the no bubble part with the pan, the oven and the water with the towel. Can you kindly elaborate step by step what I should do to avoid having bubbles in my gel...please...and again, where can I buy the round sphere hollow candle holders where you can put the string pearls and not too much gels....I bought some but it's not the same. the ones I got are just a little space to hold the candle and the rest is a huge empty space and has to be completely filled up with gel or wax to complete the deco. Please assist and am delighted to see your videos. keep it up dear...
Hi Rena, if you talking about the ones has pearls in it. This is what I used. Unfortunately you still need to fill them up with gel. Amazing always sells new products and sometimes old ones sold out. www.amazon.com/shop/4anastasia/list/3MNTTPATONZJB
You need to put towel in tray. Add small amount of water to cover towel. Add small pieces of jell wax into vase on top of ornaments. Cut it with scissors. In gloves. Vase must be dry. Preheat oven to 90 Celsius/ 194F Put vase on top of wet towel. Add hot water for few more centimeters. Keep it in oven till melts. (Time depends on size of vase, gel, oven etc) Lower your temperature to 50/60C or 122/149F Keep it in until bubbles are gone. Ones take out keep it in warm place for any left over bubbles to disappear.
Hey Rena, I have list in description box. Here is link from that list. First 2 are example of hollow space that still on sale - -Hollow Candle Holder - a.co/fW8Qp8C amazon sells a lot and sometimes sold out but something new always comes up:)
Thank you for the awesome thorough video! Just subscribed! One thing though, the music in the background is giving me headache! Can't mute it because I need to hear what you're saying.
Hi, i want to make a candle for my dad as his mum passed away, my idea is to put an acrylic photo block inside the gel wax? And a angel next to it would this hold against the gel?
Hey! I’m so sorry to hear this. You might want to try out and put hot gel wax on acrylic photo and see if it won’t burn it. You always want to experiment before you do final candle. Hope that helps.
Hi Rena! Those pearls connected with clear wire. You don’t see it inside of wax but it makes it look like it’s floating. In description box I have link to everything I used so you can get similar ones!

Hi! Hoping you reply. I’ve started making smaller glass gel candles with a smaller votive jar inside. When the candle burns in the middle the gel is burning along the outside too is this normal?
Hey! I’m little confused in your explanation. But gel will melt like in normal candle wax. Usually I use only glass vase/jar. When it’s to narrow it can burn glass a little so better to have wider vase/jar.
Hi, I'm using gel wax to make a pond scene from a wine bottle. Do I need to place the scene in and then put the wax unheated into the bottle so that bubbles don't form on the items in the scene?
Joan, I have used small ornaments before and I found it easier to pour hot gel wax first over my ornaments. That will create bubbles so then you would need to put it in oven over smaller heat and let those bubbles Evaporate. If you cut unheated wax over small ornaments and then place it in over. It might melt and move those small ornaments and mess up your composition. Hope that helps. It also depends on quality and size of your ornaments/items.
Denise! I have all links in descriptions box below. But here is link with what I used including candle holders: www.amazon.com/shop/4anastasia?listId=3MNTTPATONZJB
You can all essential oil when wax is melted and then stir it. Or you can add oil when temperature of wax is cooled a bit. So that high heat won’t reduce the scent of your oils. But there is many ways you an try it. See which one works best for you. You can also read this article that has more information about essential oils and wax. Hope this helps 😃 candles.lovetoknow.com/How_to_Make_Soy_Candles_With_Essential_Oils
Hey Lilian! No, you can use any wick. But don’t use wicks that covered in regular wax. They will make your gel wax Blurry. I explain that in this video as well. Hope this helps! 🙃
Depends on size of your vase, how you made the gel candle, what kind of wick you used. All those elements can effect it. But usually it should not happen, it never happen to me.
Hi, thanks for your amazing videos! My question is do I need special glass? I mean that resists the heat or I can put my gel candle in the oven (190 F) like your video?
Kamile, I would use thick glass. But also before you purchase it, read what says on label. Some glass not recommended/made to be used in such a high heat. Hope that helps!
Hi, so in the gel wax candle only the area around the wick melts? The rest of the gel stays in place? I want to put some dried fruits/flowers, but I don't want to cause a fire, so if I keep them 1,5cm from the wick I should be good?
Hi Anna! That would depends on size of your vase. It’s it’s really wide. It will melt only in center. But if it’s narrow vase, it could melt all around it and potentially burn dried fruits/flowers. So please be careful. Hope that helps.
How can i get rid of bubbles in a gel wax candle after I made it and added the wick ? Can i use the same technique of putting it in the oven? or does it not work after the gel has solidified ?
Hey Mark! You want to keep plastic items far from wick when you burn it. Because it can burn your plastic ornament or your wick will just stop burning at all. Hope that helps! 😀
Hi! If it reaches, it will all depends on ornaments you using. This is why you should keep ornaments far from wick when you making it. So they don’t catch on fire.
Hello, just subscribed. I need help. Im trying to make a candle wax centerpiece. Its with a glass vase, a picture of my son on both sides, which we taped, sand on the bottom with rocks and a flower in the middle. This is my first time making a candle centerpiece and it didnt come out as planned. The candle wax was very blurry and we could hardly see the flower. I had to take out the gel and just candle wax the bottom. I really wanted the candlewax to cover his pictures and the whole vase. Do you have any advice for me.
In this video I show step by step how to make sure your gel wax stays nice and don’t turn blurry. But remember that any big meat that touches your wax can turn it blurry or change color or it. Don’t mix or move wax around ones you pour it. If you move it around with stick/spoon it will turn it blurry. If your flower has color that can mix with wax it will change color as well. Poop it in one spot without moving, slow. Hope it helps.

I wanna learn how to make gel wax candles for my sons college fun Is it possible you can send me some directions on how to do it for a first timer learn how to do it
hello! im here late because the mistake is already made. i didnt manage to put dried flowers correctly into gel wax and i ruined the whole project. i tried to get the flowers out to save the wax but some parts are still there. Can i melt again the wax and filter it??
Yes, you can, but you will se strong lines between old and new wax. It happen to be before too. So to make it look good, unfortunately you would need to start over again. But don’t worry. That’s how you learn!:)
Hi Anastasia! Had a slight set back this evening. I was so excited because everything turned out so beautiful but then my wick fell right over into the melted wax. I use the proper wicks though they had wax .. they are made for gel candles but I stripped the wax off. It was still sturdy being it's the kind with the part inside that makes it stand straight up. My project was the display in the bottom and then filled with water and then about 1 1/2 inches of gel wax that I scented. About 15 minutes into burning.. it fell over. I was hoping to be able to do this project without having a wick through the entire candle to the bottom. I put it in the middle like you did. Is there any way to fix this? I wondered if leaving the metal tab on the wick and pushing through the gel wax just underneath it so maybe the wax below would somehow support it but wondering if the water will absorb into the wick. Any ideas? Please help. This was such a beautiful piece and just GLOWED inside so beautiful. Thank You so much. Have a Blessed Evening. Can't wait to hear form you.
Thank you so much for sharing your issues. So if I understood you correctly you have water under and gel on the top? If gel on a top, those candles with wick will burn fast. I give one sample in my video if you want to keep your design/decor longer is to put tiny candle holder on top of your gel and put tint candle in it. If you want to have wick in your candle, while it’s cooling down you need to hold wick in a center with clippers or something like that. While it’s burning - it should not fall over. Because gel wax is evaporating while it’s burning. Hope this helps. If not, please define your question little more for me. Good luck!
@@4Anastasia - Thank you so much for answering our questions! I have to tell you that we love your accent! But you would have laughed at my husband and I rewinding over and over to see what you were saying at 7:35 --- it sounded like "WAYS" so I finally gave up as we laughed at ourselves not being able to understand that one word and played more video and finally I understood that you must be saying "Vase" or "Base" --- so I knew then though you were talking about the container. Your video was so much fun to watch. Ok... so I did a small round fish bowl and put the wick in the middle of the wax on TOP of the water. The wick was burning BEAUTIFUL! I left for a little bit and came back and it had fallen into the wax lol.. .. I totally missed what you were saying about it would burn fast.. UGH! Ok... so I am thinking that I must find a small glass piece for t-light candle and not make these "Aroma Therapy" but may make some "Aroma Therapy" T-Lite" for people to purchase for these type projects. I watched so many gel candle videos but yours was so much better than all the rest. When I do the gel in the oven for "No Bubbles"... what about pieces inside the base like moss or foam pieces.. will they burn in oven? I need watch video again because you said no hot glue or cloudy look to see what you used. I cannot remember. Can you add me to Facebook and see my beautiful candle though? Everyone was loving it! then I was so disappointed when it was a "set back". My facebook is: Christy Rhoden Lynch ---- Then may I message you? I have never ever seen more beautiful candles than yours! Thank You new friend. Be Blessed!

Depends on oil you use. It is possible for it to get blurry. So you might want to experiment on small amount first and see if your gel stays clear. If it does, then you can create your final version.
4Anastasia thank you for replying I’m trying to do something like that for my sons birthday but gel wax is too expensive for too many !! Great channel!♥️
Hi I need your help! I made gel wax few days back and today my wax has tilted. Meaning it’s half way down and half way up! How do I fix it ? Please reply quick
Hi! Sorry to hear that. Best way is to put it back in oven and let wax melt again and change its shape. So it’s more same level. Hope that helps. But could also be because of other reason.
I show in my video that I put whole class vase in over with gel. But vase is on tray with water. I don’t know to thin your vase is. Mine was really thick and it was fine. You need to be more careful, please.
I have personally never used resin ornaments with gel wax. You want want to try to pour melted hot gel wax on resin ornaments before you do your candle to see what will happen to it. I always experiment before do something. 🙂

@@4Anastasia That is something I thought might happen! Thanks for the reply! 💖
Hi I love your candles can I melt gel wax in a glass measuring cup?
Hi! I recommend you use kitchenware that is made to be heated. If you measuring cup is not made to be heated. Then don’t use it.
I Love Your Ideas. My question is what kind of sand do you us? I've tried some sand from Amazon but it clouded the water.
Great video thank you
You are welcome!!
For the small holders with the hole on the bottom, do you use the injector to add the wax?
Yes, you can use craft syringe. But it’s hard to clean injector after words just so you know.
What type of wick you use?love your candles ♥️😘

What a great informative video! Thank you so much! I have been using dry flowers to decorate the wine glass while having a tea light holder placed in the center of the glass and poured gel wax around it. It has so many bubbles, i tried to use a heat gun and heat the glass surface, but there are still many small bubbles. I am going to try your way! But because my flowers will move around, i stick the flowers on the glass before i pour the wax. u mentioned not to move when wax is being poured to avoid bubbles. Im going to try this and but should i move the glass to a preheated oven for it to slowly set? Thank you once again!
Hi! Hope it will help. Yes, try that.
Wow 💙💙 amazing. Great work. You are very talented.
Thank you!!
Preheat oven to 90 Celsius/ 194F
Put vase on top of wet towel. Add hot water for few more centimeters.
Keep it in oven till melts. (Time depends on size of vase, gel, oven etc)
Lower your temperature to 50/60C or 122/149F
Keep it in until bubbles are gone.
Ones take out keep it in warm place for any left over bubbles to disappear.
Hi..I am a late comer..but I really loved ur videos..can I use gel wax in terracota or mud pots n diyas?..or is there a risk of the pots cracking?

Where do you sell your fantastic candles. If I need some.

Hi thank you for sharing this amazing video...😊 I have question? When you say 195 degrees is on bake right? I am no to familiar with my oven?
Yes, 195 degrees- bake. But make sure you read manual of your oven before you use it.

How do you get the pearls to float, Anastasia..? Because as I know it, pearls usually sink to the bottom.

@@4Anastasia can you tell me where you get all your beautiful embeds from?
Can you be little more specific?
Hi Anastasia, Can you use string lights inside of gel wax candles?
Lynda, no as you can burn string lights with hot gel wax. You can add it later. Ones gel is fully dried and cold:)
@@4Anastasia Thankyou :)
Hello, have you made gel wax melts?

Where do you purchase the small round candle holders, I want to try making these?

Please help me with one more question. If I use soy wax or candle wax when do I add the essential oil for scent. Thanks
You can all essential oil when wax is melted and then stir it. Or you can add oil when temperature of wax is cooled a bit. So that high heat won’t reduce the scent of your oils. But there is many ways you an try it. See which one works best for you. You can also read this article that has more information about essential oils and wax. Hi can you use fragrance oils in the gel when you burn the candle 🕯
Hello! I have never Personally tried. But each fragrance might have its own manual/description how to use it and with what you can use it.
Superb, amazing
Thank you Sakina!!
Hi dear, can you help me - if I use a tin container 3” x 3” x 4” high is there a special thickness to use for the wicks. Thanks for your help
Hey Lilian! No, you can use any wick. But don’t use wicks that covered in regular wax. They will make your gel wax Blurry. I explain that in this video as well. Hope this helps! 🙃
Thanks for the tip
Why does the wick gets drowned in the gel wax after burning for 10 mins?!
4Anastasia do you put in the oven melted? I mean immediately you pour it?
No, I cut gel into small pieces and put it in my vase. Then I put it in oven and it melts there.
@@kamilagracia4846 u can put microwave 30sec as well
Hi, so in the gel wax candle only the area around the wick melts? The rest of the gel stays in place? I want to put some dried fruits/flowers, but I don't want to cause a fire, so if I keep them 1,5cm from the wick I should be good?
Hi Anna! That would depends on size of your vase. It’s it’s really wide. It will melt only in center. But if it’s narrow vase, it could melt all around it and potentially burn dried fruits/flowers. So please be careful. Hope that helps.
is the gel was non melting? or does it melt like regular wax
It melts like regular wax.
How can i get rid of bubbles in a gel wax candle after I made it and added the wick ? Can i use the same technique of putting it in the oven? or does it not work after the gel has solidified ?
Yes, you can try to use same technique to get rid of bubbles. But it might be harder to get rid of them at that point.
Thank You so much for your beautiful video. It was very inspiring and beautiful items! Happy New Year Anastasia!
Thank you so much Journey! Wish you a happy Holidays!!
Hi Is there any problem with the plastic items you put in the gel melting or diffusing when you burn the candle? Thanks!
Hey Mark! You want to keep plastic items far from wick when you burn it. Because it can burn your plastic ornament or your wick will just stop burning at all. Hope that helps! 😀
Just awesome
Thank you!
What happens as the candle burns down and reaches the arrangement? What does it look like? Can the arrangement catch fire?
Hi! If it reaches, it will all depends on ornaments you using. This is why you should keep ornaments far from wick when you making it. So they don’t catch on fire.
Beautiful ❤️😍😍
Thanks!

Don’t use plastic vase. Gel wax is Extremely hot! I don’t even recommend to use plastic ornaments.

hello! im here late because the mistake is already made. i didnt manage to put dried flowers correctly into gel wax and i ruined the whole project. i tried to get the flowers out to save the wax but some parts are still there.

Good luck!

UGH! When I do the gel in the oven for "No Bubbles"... what about pieces inside the base like moss or foam pieces.. will they burn in oven? I want to add fragrance oil to my hot gel. How can I make sure that my gel candle stays as clear as possible?
Depends on oil you use. It is possible for it to get blurry. So you might want to experiment on small amount first and see if your gel stays clear. If it does, then you can create your final version.
So I can pour water with the ornaments & then gel wax? How long does it last ?
Yes, you can pour water first and then gel wax. You mean how long it takes to cool down? Depends on size of your vase and how much gel wax you pour.
