yeah baby, great one to have. I was fortunate enough to snag this for 10 clams 5-6 years back. Got pretty lucky there. If only this were more of a regular thing. Congrats Bob!
Congrats on finding that Awakening Bob. That is a killer album and one of my favorites. I happen to have a first press and a second press as well and both of them sound phenomenal. In fact, if someone reading this finds a second press at a good price, it's definitely worth picking up. Thank you as always for another cool video and enjoy those! LOVE that video thumbnail art 😂
Love some Toots. He paired up wonderfully with Chet Baker too, as per a live set on CD with the Ake Johansson Trio which is sublime. That McCoy Tyner is great too.
Nice finds Bob. I have the recent Third Man release of The Awakening and my copy was sounded fine after cleaning, not audiophile quality but no noticeable sound defects. Great album. I'll put that McCoy Tyner album on my want list been listening to him a lot recently
Another cool vid ! That Bill Evans and Toots album was meant for you, that's you on the back cover. Lol ! As soon as you flipped it over I said that's "Bob" ! ✌️
Very nice Bob! I've been looking for that Lonnie Liston Smith you passed over. Cool that you found that Ahmad record. I have a couple of his records. I will have to give them a spin. Cheers! -Jay
I got Toots autograph just before he died. Eons ago I picked up a Jamal LP and everyone was like "What are you doing?". It wasn't that one. Their loss.
Super presentation Bob. 👌And some heavy duty finds. I'll give that Joe Henderson a listen any time soon. Happy holiday season 1st Advent from Copenhagen, DK. ❤ Yes, you heard it right... The main Capital of Denmark and the heart of multiple small record venues and record fairs. Love your videos my friend. 🙏
Great stuff. Awesomely clean finds. I have a couple of those Canyon Lady records but can't escape ring-ware. I spotted a few amazing titles in there like that Mal Waldron score Sweet Love, Bitter and the Jazz Lab title. Great stuff per usual sir.
Awesome selections and appreciate that they’re not super high priced - I just found the Desmond record super clean at goodwill and like it a lot - a better listen IMO than the Wes Montgomery A&M cover records of the same era. Also some killer classical in there at the end - the two Neville Marriner records on Argo ( the Bartok and the Barber Adagio for strings are beautiful recordings ). Thanks for posting!
Wow Bob. What a find! Very rare record. I bought the Alice Coltrane Ptah, the El Daoud record in the same series by Verve / Third Man and after cleaning it through my Unltrasonic a couple of times it sounds fantastic so maybe i just got lucky with the pressing. Like you i did not buy the Ahmad Jamal reissue as i read the terrible reviews it has on Discogs. Will keep a look out for that Joe Henderson record!Adam
Hey Bob. So easy to buy expensive killer jazz records, but what the world needs is some more of your cheap heats jazz videos. Just my opinion 😉😉. Cheers.
Anything on the Milestone label was a must buy back in the day. To this day my favorite Ahmad Jamal album is Jamal Plays Jamal (1974), I think it's one of the only albums where he plays a Fender Rhodes. Herbie Hancock - Death Wish 🤔.
Wow, an original Awakening! I need to know: on A2 (“I Love Music”) about halfway through the track when the bass and drums enter, does it sound like there is tape damage? I’ve never heard an original but every other pressing I’ve heard has had that issue - not the kind of subtle warble that some people hear and other people don’t, but a VERY obvious issue with the tape speed. I think I’ve heard it was in issue with the recording from day 1. Can you confirm? It’s a phenomenal, must-hear album regardless though (my copy is a CD from 1986, which sounded better than the third man reissue to me).
Bob, luv the hidden track playing in the background at the end of your video. Might be my favorite band of all time. Frank
Frank I somehow knew if anyone commented on that it would be you ✊🏼
Good video. Nice finds.
yeah baby, great one to have. I was fortunate enough to snag this for 10 clams 5-6 years back. Got pretty lucky there. If only this were more of a regular thing. Congrats Bob!
Much appreciated Dom, it’s definitely a chapter mark in my collections story ✊🏼

Cheers to that!

Echoes Of A Friend is my favorite Tyner. Just a beautiful album.
Great finds Bob! Thanks for the heads up on Canyon Lady…will have to add it to my list of albums to be on the lookout for!
Cheers!

Cheers, I almost grabbed that Lonnie … dang!
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL I guess you have an excuse to go back now. Ha!
Hey great find, thanks for sharing. You left a cool Donald Byrd-Gigi Gryce, in second box. Go back, it is great hard bop! J. From Paris
Probably long gone now 🙂 but much appreciated!
Great finds! I picked up the Jamal re-issue and mine is in great condition.
I’m glad to hear that, you know the internet 😺
I got Toots autograph just before he died. Eons ago I picked up a Jamal LP and everyone was like "What are you doing?". It wasn't that one. Their loss.
Hey mate... you flicked past it but you really should've picked up that Lonnie Liston LP 'Expansions' 😊
Super presentation Bob. 👌And some heavy duty finds. I'll give that Joe Henderson a listen any time soon. Happy holiday season 1st Advent from Copenhagen, DK. ❤ Yes, you heard it right... Much appreciated!
Paul Desmond is too slick for me. I’m not really a trio fan but The Awakening Looks cool.
It is a bit smooth, no doubt it can get a bit “fruity” lol
Great finds. I'm glad you found a nice sounding copy of Ahmad Jamal. The recent reissue doesn't sound as good as I had hoped. Have a great week.
Much appreciated Melinda, my fear is none of the AJ tapes exist 😕 we are at the mercy of the digital overlords! Cheer 😉
Damn bro, some serious heaters there!
Cheers!
Wicked scores dude!!!!
Cheers ✊🏼
Killer find! But, just when you think you got me........

Patience paid off - congrats on that big 🔥🔥🔥 grail ✌🏻
Record collecting is all about patience ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼cheers sir!
What a great stack of music. I found an Ahmad Jamal Trio a few weeks ago at a flea market. I was stoked Enjoyed the video.
Congrats on that, it gets increasingly tougher to find all the time!

I’ll have to get that Rhodes record. Yep Herbie out there working with Charles Bronson 🤓
That McCoy is nice.
Beautiful record .

I’ll check that out and report back!
A good day was had by all.
Nice Joe H.
Cheers
You scored big time on that Desmond!
Great sounding record .
Congratulations on the " cheap heat " 🔥
It’s the best kind!
Ones you didn't pick up - that Ken McKintire Home is a great album. Also the David Byrne. A couple of great ECMs there as well.
Thanks, I figured I’d left some jewels behind 🙃
Love me some ECMs
Congrats on getting that ahmad jamal record 😃
