Ok I love Chad Lewis, but I totally feel gaslit. We just need to quit even talking about Sabbath day observance when it relates to anyone’s job. This is just a ton of justification that neither Eli Herring or Larry H Miller would agree with. Would we be even talking like this if Chad was a general contractor or owner of a grocery store ? No! We are justifying him because we want our LDS athletes to be famous and give good PR to the Church. We members are obsessed with how we are viewed by the outside world. Translation - be hypocritical about Sabbath day observance so we can have our NFL Sundays.

Sorry but this is nonsense. The sabbath is the sabbath. There was a non Mormon all black player who is a Christian who refused to play sundays. This included in two world cups. He copped a lot of flak over it but stood by his beliefs. He even copped criticisms from other Christian’s but in the end he was acknowledged by everyone as someone who stood by his beliefs. He was very humble and many of his team mates and other rugby players… some of whom were stanch atheists…. Looked to him as a shining example of Christian faith. Of course it helped that he was one of the best players in the world and has been recognised as one of the best in history.
