- A nearly double life size monument to Triple Crown winning Thoroughbred racehorse Secretariat is placed at the intersection of Frankfort Pike and Alexandria Drive in Lexington, Ky., on Oct.12, 2019.
The original sculpture, by equine and wildlife artist Jocelyn Russell, was earlier unveiled at Keeneland racecourse as part of a Secretariat festival.
A WONDERFUL statue for a GREAT HORSE AND JOCKEY! SECRETARIAT WAS THE HORSE THAT GOD MADE, THE GREATEST HORSE THAT EVER RACED!
Of course, God made every horse ever, but I understand your point - Secretariat was especially smiled down upon. The best ever!
Exactly like Secretariat looked like on the race track "flying"
He was special
You can see Secretariet's muscles bulging! A fitting tribute to this magnificent beauty!
Secretariat is still flying around the racetrack! Legend forever!
Congratulations to the artist. That statue really does capture Secretariat's spirit.
*edited to add: ...it also perfectly replicates his magnificent muscular physique.
Incredible Horse and great looking statue!
Magnificent work for a magnificent horse that captured the nations heart ❤ and still does for those of us old enough to remember. Never to be forgotten “ Big Red”.
He still moving like a tremendous machine...on our hearts.
Beautiful, masterful 💥💕
There's alot of awesome race horses out there but Secretariat was amazing.❤
Those muscles are exactly life like. Winged Pegasus .
There will never be another my favorite horse of all times I was blessed to him race
“Magnificent” is the only word my mind can conjure about this Work of Art!
All i can say is wow!
Couldn't they just walk him up there 👍? That is a great tribute.
A fitting tribute to the greatest race horse that has ever lived.
Look up PHAR LAP .
@@Nancy-yf6mw I know Phar Lap.
I'd like it if Ronnie's head was turned to look behind him.
That was a classic ! Ronnie was riding the Tripple Crown Winner that people will remember forever! Moving like a tremendous machine! Well deserved monument!
This has his Derby # .1A. the turn look was the Belmont
@@barbaralovenvirth8726 Guess we need another monument then - maybe 4x actual size?
Yeah, that would have been great! Too bad the artist didn't think of that.
PERFECT!
A geat tribute to BIG RED and RONNIE TURCOTTE.
Falta Penny ..Saltando y aplaudiendo
Perfectly captures the image of Secretariat and Ron Turcot moving as one!
Captured the stride that still gives me goosebumps.
Unbelievable!
Magnificent 🐴
Ronnie Turcott was my god father as I was born on E.P taylors farm my dad was a jocky and another person there was Bobby Bromby as well as Gil Rowntree I used to play out in the paddock
at the age of 2yrs
WOW.
Gran conmemoración a un caballo único❤❤❤... Está mal realizada pero buena la intención..... El escultor sabe poco de la morfología del caballo, su funcionamiento...👍👍👍🤷
Why program #1A on the saddlecloth instead of @2? I think Sham wore 1A in the Belmont.
Apparently it's Secretariat's Derby saddlecloth.
@@rontrigger4568 Yeah I was just thinking that the Belmont was his most impressive win but the statue is in KY so...
#1A. Appropriate.
Meh horse was juiced
Really? Why are you watching?
Losers will always be jealous of greatness! Crawl back under your rock, Joe!
