Despicable Me 3 (2017): Dru has a jerkass realization when he regrets his falling-out with Gru and disowning him as his friend for renouncing villainy same for Stuart and the other minions regarding also disowning Gru as their friend for also renouncing villainy expect Bob and Kevin and Stuart and the minions and Dru return to reconcile with and aid Gru, Lucy, Kevin, Bob, Anges, Margo and Edith in their final battle with Batlzaar in the climax. But Dru doesn’t fully renounce villainy as he and a few of the minions aside from Stuart, Bob and Kevin leave to act like villains at the end of the movie setting the stage for Minions 3 and Gru and Lucy while dismayed choose to let Dru and those minions do so instead of going to stop them. The Grinch (2018): The Grinch learning the true meaning of Christmas combined with Cindy Lou Who’s love and kindness causes his redemption in the same way as other How the Grinch Stole Christmas! adaptations and variations. The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019): The characters make no heel realizations or jerkass realizations in the film. Sing 2 (2021): Unlike Mike and Judith in the first Sing movie, Porsha Crystal and Suki Lane actually have jerkass realizations and heel realizations in the film. Porsha has a heel realization or jerkass realization when after she overreacts to Buster choosing to give the lead role in Out of This World back to Rosita to the point where she assumed Buster was firing her and everyone hated her for being a bad actress and has Linda Le Bon broadcast on the news causing her father Jimmy to angrily disown her as his daughter for ruining his reputation and Porsha cries in bed over her misfortunes, Mrs. Crawley comes back and clears up the misunderstanding Porsha had with Buster earlier and Porsha relieved that Buster and his friends never fired her from Out of This World or even hated her in the first place and regretting her earlier actions which set of the chain of events that lead to Jimmy trying to kill Buster twice and all the Moon Theater Family’s problems after that, and her innocently insensitive behavior towards Rosita when she took her role, plus her spoiled brat and drama queen behavior, Porsha has a heel-face turn and rejoins the show and she apologizes to Buster and Rosita for her actions and is forgiven for them and Porsha gives Rosita her lead role as the astronaut in the play back and plays the alien in the Planet of Joy instead as planned, and Porsha disowns Jimmy as her father and stands up to him during her performance of “It Could Have Been Me” in Out of This World, Suki also has a heel realization or jerkass realization when she discovers that Buster and his friends were capable of protecting themselves from Jimmy all along when while performing Out of This World in Crystal Tower Theater behind Jimmy’s back and she was overdramatic about the whole thing and regretting her earlier haughty and oveprotective behavior towards Buster and his friends and lies she made about him and his friends not being good enough to make it into Redshore to get them off her back and agree not to perform in Redshore without admitting the truth (Suki initially had poor communication skills just as Porsha does.) as a lie can sometimes hurt someone’s feelings more than the truth and Suki reconciles with Buster and Porsha and the rest of the troupe during Meena and Darius’s performance of “I Say A Little Prayer” in Out of This World and redeems herself for her behavior by stopping Jimmy from going down to kill Buster a third time after his second failed attempt to kill Buster that is stopped by Rosita during her and Gunter’s performance of “Break Free” in Out of This World and Suki after the show ends and the curtain call happens gives the protagonists a head start to escape Crystal Tower Theater while Jimmy is preoccupied with addressing the audiences to avoid capture and has the police arrest Jimmy for all his crimes afterwards in which Jimmy likely also sees the error of his ways and regrets and felt remorseful over his actions in the process also in a heel realization or jerkass realization or heel-face turn judging by his heartbroken look as he is arrested by the police, and taken to prison, and afterwards, Porsha and Suki quit from Crystal Entertainment which is shut down after Jimmy’s arrest and join the Moon Theater Family alongside Darius, Nooshy and Clay Calloway and move to Catalonia with them to live closer to them as neighbors, not before the Moon Theater Family perform Out of This World in Majestic Palace Theater for weeks in Redshore City before they head home to Catalonia. Klaus Kickenblober also has a jerkass realization after he is defeated by Johnny in the Planet of War dance fight in Out of This World and apologizes for his actions and has a heel-face turn and Johnny and Nooshy forgive Klaus and accept him as their friend. Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022): Gru has a jerkass realization while with Wild Knuckles where he regrets getting angry at and firing the minions for losing the zodiac stone (And since the zodiac stone being lost was only Stuart’s fault, not all of the minions, so Gru getting angry at and firing the other minions aside from Stuart was unfair and mean-spirited.) and after Gru reunites with the minions and Stuart, Bob and Kevin and they defeat the Vicious Six, Gru reconciles with and rehires the minions and was on good terms with them ever since. The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023): Donkey Kong has a jerkass realization when he regrets his unfair and bullying behavior towards Mario and Mario and Donkey Kong reconcile and work together to save their friends and family from Bowser and defeat the villain and stop his execution of Luigi and his other prisoners and marriage to Princess Peach. Migration (2023): Pam has a jerkass realization when she regrets pressuring Mack into going on their migration adventure to Jamaica with Dax and Gwen and Mack also has a jerkass realization when he regrets his overprotectiveness towards Pam, Dax and Gwen in the climax. Despicable Me 4 (2024): No heel realizations or jerkass realizations are made by the characters in the film but mostly because I have not watched Despicable Me 4 yet.

The Lorax (2012): The Once-Ler has a heel realization when he finally snaps out of his family’s manipulations that turned him into the egomaniacal nature destructive businessman he is after the last truffula tree is cut down and finally sees all the environmental destruction he and his greedy and lazy family caused and realizes that his greedy and lazy family especially his mother never loved him or cared about him in the first place but were only using and blackmailing him into (Through the lies that their actions won’t cause any environmental destruction like the Lorax warned and that the Once-Ler’s thneed business is the only way to earn his family’s love and affection.) breaking his promise with the Lorax and cutting down the truffala trees and making them by factory to speed up the thneed’s production and create environmental destruction in the process and regrets his actions (Though the Once-Ler does not tirade or punish his mother and family for their manipulations but instead lets them off scot-free not before the mother disowns the Once-Ler as her son and makes Bret her new favorite child and leaves with the rest of the family taking all his money with him leaving the Once-Ler ruined and broken.) and this leads to the forest animals leaving in search of a new home and the Lorax disappearing into the sky leaving the words, “Unless” behind. Despicable Me 2 (2013): Dr. Nefarious has a heel realization when he undergoes his heel-face turn in the movie’s climax and betrays El Macho. Minions (2015): No jerkass or heel realizations are made in the movie. The Secret Life of Pets (2016): Max has a jerkass realization when he regrets his initial jerkish behavior towards Duke and tries to make amends with him and Duke also has a jerkass realization after he regrets foolishly believing that Max knew the truth behind his old owner dying and a new family took over the house and brought him there so Duke would get captured by the animal control and gets angry at Max for it for nothing, and SnowBall and their flushed pets have their redemptions and heel-face turns and heel realizations at the end too. Sing (2016): Johnny’s father Big Daddy has a jerkass realization or heel realization when he watches his son Johnny’s performance of “Am Still Standing” on live television in prison and finally recognizes and admires his son’s talent and regrets forcing his son to become a criminal over following his true dream of becoming a musician and for disowning him when he learns that his son choose his path as a musician instead, and Big Daddy escapes from prison and reunites with and reconciles with his son Johnny during Mike’s performance of “My Way.” Mike has no heel or jerkass realizations but sticks to his money greedy anti-heroic ways and neither does Judith as she took her job as a bank representative so seriously that she has no sympathy or friendliness towards Buster and threatens to have the bank possess Moon Theater if his singing competition does not go well not caring that doing so will leave Buster homeless and jobless and Judith does so with no second thoughts after Moon Theater’s destruction and later to add salt to the wound, when Judith discovers that Buster and his gang went behind her back and performed the singing competition in the lot where Moon Theater once stood she attempts to shut the show down during Ash’s performance of “Set It All Free” and order everyone to leave the lot for trespassing it (To be fair, it was considered illegal for the protagonists to trespass the lot where Moon Theater once stood as the bank now owns the property, but still.) but when they refuse and Ash continues her performance, Judith is left no choice but to call the police to have everyone arrested and incarnated in prison for trespassing the lot and would have succeeded if it had not been for Ash’s performance rallying up everyone to the point of pricking everyone with the quills, which stopped Judith from telephoning the police. Judith also planned to have everyone arrested by the police and sent to prison once the show was over but Nana Goodleman repossessing the lot and having Moon Theater rebuilt and reopened forced Judith to parole Buster and his friends for that crime and later attends the theater’s re-opening ceremony despite never deserving it in the first place.
