Two granddaughters show market pigs in 4-H. We are cattle people and to learn a lot. We get our pigs at two months old for $200 per pig. They are mixed breed. They are delicate creatures and more likely to get skin or respiratory problems , when cows have slight problems. Pigs eat a lot and need to be fed twice a day. Vitamins and supplements are needed . We were told to keep on concrete with wood shavings for hygiene and to keep clean and healthy . They are washed once a week, and pens shoveled out and hosed down and shavings on clean concrete. They are expensive to raise. Have a good time .Siblings can’t be bred ! Need to be from different litters ! One pig per pen , with pen large enough to move around. 😂 We had a lot to learn. Our 12 year old and 6 year old granddaughters love showing , and walk their pigs daily for exercise . They make them tame as a dog. Dale will love them ! They are not cheap to raise. Cheaper to buy pork than to raise it ! No kidding ! They are only shown at shows for one season , as they are only “pig” age for a few months . Enjoy your channel from SE GA USA !
This reminded me of a story my wife told me about from when she was a little girl. She had a little piglet that she cared for and loved so much. She loved feeding it and spending time with it. Naturally the pig grew and the Tim came when a relative decided they were hungry. She had no idea at the time what her little piglet was destined for, so she cried for a week. She loved her little pig.
Good morning Tim! Wow, Chrissy has very nice long hair...and of course a smile that could light Los Angeles! Buying a pig...hmm...in my youth, I used to be a farmer. So, how much does it cost to feed a pig? Each piglet recieves 1 lbs of feed...increased weekly by 1/4 a pound until the max of 5 lbs of feed is reached per pig for a harvest weight of 150 lbs. If you want some heavier pigs, you can increase the feed from 5lbs to 10 lbs of feed per pig until the desired weight is achieved (250 plus lbs.). I imagine about $24 USD every 10 to 13 days for 2 growing pigs...but I don't know the true cost of feed there. We used to feed the pigs our food garbage (vegetables and fruits), corn we produced (ground), and commercial feed mixed into swill. So, it was cost effective.
Hey Tim what do you think about getting some chickens and letting them live there. You get eggs from them daily and they eat bugs and stuff so its fairly cheap to keep them. Ofcourse you have to Supplement their food with corn also but it should not be nearly as much as pigs.
Name each one of your piglets and then allow subscribers to sponsor the piglets. Subscribers fund monthly cost of their piglet and Chrissy provides video every week of each piglet's progress by name. Just keep growing number of piglets based on sponsorship.
Hi I just subscribed, I’m a farmer in Australia and traveling to the Philippines to look at farms as I’m interested in traditional ways of farming and self sustainability
Wow! Weaner pigs are expensive there. They are still only about 25 usd here in the USA . Negotiations offer 1,275 php each to start and don’t go above 1,900 each
Keep track of your expenses, good to know if your venture is profitable. And I think Crissy's father is right to use local material as your profits for pigs not like in the USA. Find a good feed as well..
God I love Chrissy's smile. Tim I know the question you have about that spots had to be joking but when I was a little boy (not Long ago) cough cough I use to think black cows was chocolate milk the reddish cows were strawberry Milk Until my dad ask how many white cows have you seen son I thought about it a while and said non he said that's because all cows only have white milk. My Family raised Pigs chickens had a lot of gardens . . Tim you don't have to feed the pigs just the pig food you can also feed them banana leaves over ripe bananas any veg or fruit that is going bad to them it is a treat . I notices in the Philippines most of the pig pens are small so they pretty much eat sleep yes they get fat but I always had larger pens less fat on the pork means better eating . Some fat on a pig is good but too much fat means less meat .
Everything is great about chrissy, her smile her face etc,she only have 1 little minus point, she dont like red horse, hahaha Take care bigg friend and be save.
In my province we usually just feed them different types of grub , sliced up to small pieces with water, but they'll probably be grow bigger if you feed them feeds
Whoops I may be off on my prices, now that I got a look at them. They’re a little bigger and already started. They look very healthy. Plus the pig seller seems like he takes good care of them.
Great idea to get your own pork production farm. Get some chickens for fresh egg production too. This now is being flaunted for people in USA and Canada so everyone has eggs for basic food for their homes. PIG VITAMINS? what? Pigs will eat anything give them fruit salads scraps they get vitamins then free.
@@TimKyoutube That's a good thing, we are in Florida and my Filipina wife lives very simple also, we are lucky. We plan to move the the Philippines when we retire in about 10 years.
Hey Tim & Chrissy, congrats on a new addition to the family! Now it’s time to invite Harald to work at the farm and make a documentary about the basics and benefits of a small business for locals and tourists. Next animals to pick up: chickens! Also, considering how expensive some of the sea foods are and the cost of salmon nowadays, maybe a new business venture like “Tim, the Western Fisherman” would be appropriate! Make it a series, Monday’s - video tutorial about basics of pig farming 🐖, Tuesday’s - 🐟 fishing skills by Tim K, Wednesday’s could be a chicken farm day 🐓, Thursday’s - working with Dad @ coconut farm 🥥, Friday’s - 🛠 home improvements (for Tim) and 🍼 baby Dale daily routine and associated costs (for Chrissy), Saturday’s could be a family entertainment day 👨👩👦 and Sunday’s are great for privacy 🍻, content editing 💻 and mind + body recharge 🏖 for the following week! Call the series: 🇵🇭 Life in Philippines: The story of Tim and Chrissy(and Dale)! P.S. Thanks for sharing Tim, awesome content. Keep the vlogs coming, very entertaining and helps to take the mind away from the daily news about the negativity in the world. BTW, do you have rabbits on the island? 🐇
If you’re going to eat it , don’t name it !! Advice from a farmer , my kids would never eat our beef because they named them and played with them !! We had to tell them we sold those heifers and bought new ones !! Lol !!
Just remember you can feed those pigs all your leftover table scraps and vegetable and fruit peels too help supplement the food.Fyi you can just feed them regular grain or rice as a food source too instead of buying expensive pig feed..
Raised a pig in FFA went to bakery and got all the pastries that was outdated going to the trash. Bo loved cup cakes and snowballs. Ran him on a leash 3x a week. Won 3rd place in Houston LiveStock Show. 13k dollars. He was delicious
It's a good investment to have a pig farm maybe you can also add some 45days chicken Tim.. you can search on you tube how to create much better pigpen than what I saw their scatter in different place instead of one nice area a better look to see and when theirs a typoon it can hold last much better to provide a safe house made of concrete and a steel roof its just my opinion but its goodthing to do if you want to span you farm
hey Tim, quick question....hows everything in the Philippines going with all this Covid-19 quarantine/5G stuff? ive been hearing crazy rumors of people being shot on sight if caught outside there houses, and even the release of tigers in the streets so people stay inside???? then i see your beautiful videos and im like (O___o) wtf?? it looks so peacful! so could you fill me in please? sorry if this is a stupid question i just gotta ask lol
GREAT Business! But they SMELL! They also have about 12 piglets per pregnancy! I did a spreadsheet on that business in 2009 when I first arrived. Do some UA-cams on how to farm them as well as how to slaughter them. Although in the Philippines that is much easier than in the USA. Building a larger farm is quite interesting; you'll need a large truck for transport. But in Gen Luna, you may become a supplier of live animals OR better, you make a slaughter area with a carving table. I made one out of cement with slope & troughs to direct the blood, because the locals use it for soup, etc. Good Luck!
We need name suggestions for the piglets (one is male the other female)
Hograld & Barbie (Q.)
social & distancing :/
TOM AND JERRY
Name them BULAO AND PUTI.
BULAO is golden color,, PUTI is color white..
THAT'S HOW WE NAME OUR ANIMALS IN MY PROVINCE.
That's a big NO Reece!
Chrissy has a beautiful smile. I really like seeing her smile.
Chrissy has a great smile
She is the sweetest wife God bless guys! 🙏❤🇵🇭

You have such an understanding wife Tim. You are a lucky man.. All the best to Chrissy, you and your family during this Easter Holiday..God Bless.
Wow beautiful piglets...good to start but not much making money...good luck Crissy for new project.God bless you all
The difference between a spotted pig and a pink pig is that the spotted pig has spots and the pink one doesn't.
my mind is blown
*The correct answer is. The freckles pig is the one with the spot. The one with no spot has no freckles.* 😂😂😂
They all seem pink to me, yeah a few of them look abit dirty maybe been rolling around mud or grease, they just need a bath and some vitamins,
Lol wow you guys are so smart lol
haha same answer so fat😂
It must be such an amazing feeling how a man like you can transform a family's life for the better.

Do her parents have a freezer to store the big pig in … or is the party fiesta delayed? Great project to bring the extended family together.
Good decision. That would be sustainable in future and the profit will be double after 4 to 5 months

He can tell you alot Tim Brian Smith he also raises chickens and he has a milk fish pen out in ocean sells them to. Good luck
I like the title! And those nice pigs!:-)
That's cool Tim. Now you sell 🐖 also and have food.
Good for feeding any kitchen scraps.. but no left over pork or bacon as pigs can get foot and mouth disease very easily..
