This video is heavily inspired by @GDColon's video "The Worst Geometry Dash Level"
In this video, i tried to find a worse geometry dash level than Generation Retro, and i did! Watch the video to see what i found ;)

To my knowledge, Zobros made this as a joke, like you said, and then he said he would quit if it wasn't rated. Upon it not being rated, he did quit. Robot did eventually rate it but Zobros didnt come back.
This is something I heard somewhere but I have no clue what the source was so take this was a grain of salt ig

Goldenclub is, arguably, a very good level at teaching the player how specific mechanics work very early in the game. For example, I distinctly remember learning how ship portals work with the screen through this level. The blue orbs are a great introduction to a gameplay element that is used everywhere throughout the game, and the falling section is a key step in learning how falling off 1-block ledges works with spikes along the bottom. Now, if you want some truly bad map pack levels, may I interest you in the twisted pack? These three levels are all genuinely some of the least fun experiences I’ve had with the game.
agreed, i don't get why golden club was on here. It's not the best level but it isn't THAT bad
Yeah, Its not that bad. Even when I was a much worse player, I didnt have trouble with the level, unlike some other annoying map pack levels.
Golden Club is awful, IMO, terrible deco, awful gameplay, barely any sync, overall terrible IMO.

first off, you shouldnt ever have to learn anything under 8 star. second, blind gameplay isnt memory gameplay, its almost always just bad. and trust me, the demons are NOT fun.

@@GDDNID I feel like its really obvious where the "blind orb jumps" are. The "blind" section has the same decoration as the orb so its really obvious that up there, there is an orb.
Also, when you were mad about the part where you don't click, I just don't understand. The average player should know how fast the cube moves.
Melodies by sweetdude is so joyful, may not be the cup of tea for everybody but it’s in my favorites. More people should appreciate raw maps

I wouldnt say Love Baba is worse than generation retro and goldenclub, it was created to be bad, and recognizes that it is bad. Generation Retro was made to be good, but failed at that.
Love Baba was made as a joke to see if robtop would rate any zobros level, if not, zobros was going to leave the community, in which he did.
More things wrong with your points against it:
you got mad at invisible gameplay, maybe because it is a memory level?
you also go mad because its somewhat hard, this is because it is meant to be an insane demon
and yes, the level is bad, but
1 - it isnt forced upon you
2 - it is meant to be bad as a joke
3 - was made as a test towards robtop

It may be a joke bad level, but it still is a bad rated level nonetheless. It is very obviously just a joke, but it meets everything the guy said at the video.

You’re missing the point when you call melody the worst level. Imo it’s sweet dude’s best work. It’s raw, overwhelming, unapologetically colorful, and made with passion.
Also ik it’s kinda cliche to say this but I genuinely believe if this level was made by krmal it would’ve been hailed as genius. Instead people hate on it because it was made by a creator with a poor reputation at the time.
Im not the only one with this opinion, and with the same reasons 🤷 im simply saying this from the lazy gameplay, how it does memory bad, and such, even if it was made by krmal, i would’ve put it on here

My take: Melody is arguably one of the most abrasive levels to come out of the 2.0 update, and i absolutely love the visual insanity that the level creates. You really cant point to another level from around that time thats comparable to it, or even one thats ballsy enough to replicate what it was going for. I feel like it definitely has that over generation retro. I’d argue most of the hate this level attracts mostly stems from Etzer’s video ripping into sweetdude which has definitely softened a bit given time, but it’s still somewhat apparent.
Pocke made a really good video in defence of the level which i highly recommend you check out
Interesting take
My take: I tried melody for quite a while now and put a ton of attempts on it, and i dont see the appeal on its “uniqueness”, i feel like the “visual insanity” is just a mess and its really unsightreadable, with also some parts being copy paste, kinda makes me a bit sad.

Insane Demons can still be shit. 90% of Love Baba’s gameplay seems really unfair, which just isn’t the case for other insane demons.

I see love baba as a level that progressively gets worse the further you get into it, it’s an interesting concept that just doesn’t work in gameplay, being bad is basically the whole "charm" that it has
Have you ever heard of the Garbage Collection or Godly Collection?
There are horrible levels on both which I think would give Melody a run for it's money.
Melody is super fun to go through and I usually hate these types of learny 2.0 levels. I guess peak isn't for everyone :3

It is perfectly fine to have your own opinions, but I think all the opinions in this video almost everyone can say a level that they think is worse. You actually glossed over the fact that Colon said that Generation Retro is the worst level because its forced onto you. For all the other levels you mentioned in this video besides GoldenClub and Dynamic on Track, you don't have to play them for rewards or achievements. Speaking of GoldenClub, I think you're actually one of the 5 people that think that GoldenClub is the worst map pack/gauntlet level. There are so many much, MUCH worse levels in the map packs. Take Theory of Relativity for example. That level is just rude, its a giant mess of blind timings and memorization, and there are more horrible levels that apparently don't rival GoldenClub's 2 mean things to you. Sorry if I sounded rude, but parts of this video make me believe you didn't do much research into the topic and only played the first 15 or so map packs. Also, there are levels worse than Melody, trust me. Sword Dance is infamous for its horrible memory gameplay, How to clutterfunk is just a copy of Clutterfunk but with a song made by a p*dophile on top of it. There is a level called Crepescule Challenge that is Dynamic on Track but INVISIBLE. I can go on and on honestly. Besides all of that though, this is a well edited video and was mostly entertaining to watch. Just maybe do more research next time please :)

I shortened the video a lot, so i didn’t actually include levels like square adventures, and decided to go with the ruby pack because of the 2 bad levels imo

Since this seems to be a controversial video, I feel like giving my opinion on these levels.
Dynamic on Track: I don’t think the gameplay is that bad, but the update's text is stupid.
Golden Club: I actually think level is not bad. Both the gameplay and deco and pretty good for when it was made. Not anything spectacular, but decent enough. The text about being a map pack at the beginning is kinda silly though.
Love Baba: Like other people said, this level is a joke and is meant to be bad. The only person who deserves criticism from this level is RobTop for rating it, but I personally couldn’t care less about this being rated.
New Beginning II: Yeah this one aged badly. The deco looks bad and the moving objects are horrible. Probably the worst in the video.
Melody: This is the most interesting one. The deco actually isn’t as bad as I remember for being made in 2.0; it’s so crazy that it somehow works. I hate the gameplay in this level though. The moving objects truly are a pain. I definitely wouldn’t call this a masterpiece, but I don’t think it’s the worst level.
Melody is not that bad. You seriously underestimate just how bad some 2.0 gameplay was, and memory was not so heavily stigmatized back then as it is now, because it was one of the core features that creators used for difficulty.

Just wait until you find out about the approximately 105 rated non-demons that are even harder than Melody, because "almost like a guess" of where to jump becomes a lot more of an actual guess!! If you're gonna pitch this as finding THE worst Geometry Dash level, at least put in some actual research. You could ask literally any top 100 stargrinder for their opinions and it'd be guaranteed to make more sense than this video.

Goldenclub is a good level, its literally obvious that you have to jump at 9%, you can see the deco on the "blind orbs" and the drop part is so easy that the camera movement is not a problem at all

I don’t care about bad gameplay or overdecoration or whatever, Melody by Sweetdude has so much more personality than 99% of featured levels. The way that the song and aggressively happy visuals combine to make one of the most joyous levels in the game that only gets hated on because it got a rate.

I know u didn’t forget this one since it was only 4 days ago, but this one dude jumped from death moon (an easy demon) to unknown ( a top 45 extreme demon).
3:45 the fact that zobros basically forced and blackmailed robtop into rating this is lowkey kinda insane, even for zobros, who was the best creator at that time!

goldenclub was one of the first level ive ever played (back in 2015) now with a ton of experience viewing iy from perspective i can tell its not that bad really if you're used how fast paced levels get, and this adds up with the level being medium duration, i might say it deserve the rate imo, idk about y'all, but i consider it like that

None of these are truly bad levels. Portal (11357573) and skyfrost (729521) are truly the worst levels out there. Portal is just a bad 2.0 level with annoying and boring gameplay, while skyfrost is a harder that should be rated demon and it has a blind click after blind click after blind click, I have never raged this hard on a gd level before. Oh and both are in map packs. Overall portal is the worse one.
Also, whats wrong with overdecorated levels? I really like those.

a lot of these levels are fire including love baba. 8o is a WAY less enjoyable level than love baba, and took me longer than easy extremes like acu, troll level, sigsegv, and some IDL levels. Personally I think any random early 2.0 level is almost guaranteed to suck, but the worst level in the game is a 2* "quiz level" that I forgot the name of.

Generation retro is still worse since it’s required for an achievement. Melody isn’t - unless you want to be technical and say it can be for star achievements; however it’s not required.
I decided to ignore the “forced as an achievment” aspect of things, and only focus on finding the worst level
New beginning 2 looks like geometrical dominator if it were made by someone high on lsd
Practice mode was half fixed in 2.2 and people still don't use it to learn a level but play it once and never again 🏴☠
Most of these aren't this bad, as a stargrinder I found some more infuriating levels
