    FULL STORY: bit.ly/AIRobotYT
Creature Effects mechanic Eric Fiedler details the puppeteering processes behind bringing to life the animatronic "Insecurity Guard" robot from #AI: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. As an homage, key Stan Winston Studio artist David Grasso sculpted the Insecurity Guard in Stan Winston's likeness.

"A.I." was one of the most underrated masterpieces that I know of. I've never been able to understand that. Maybe it was too different an idea. Maybe it made people too uncomfortable. I don't know. But it was utterly amazing and beautiful, and the Stan Winston Shop gave so much to make it so. "A.I." haunts me. Especially those poor broken-down androids. They are unforgettable. Thank you guys and the late, great Mr. Winston for all of the superlative magic!

I remember seeing A.I when I was about 5 years old, I ended up coming out of the movie theater thinking that I was a robot! Till this day this movie remains in my top ten favorite movies!

Art is art. Being able to get a glimpse into the process is priceless for me. I always appreciate when masters of a craft share their gifts.💖

Whether something is CGI has nothing to do with how artistic and creative it is.

People I know generally hate it for the ending that feels like it was shoved onto the script by Spielberg in case people didn't get the Pinocchio parallel. They thought it just ended too happy and too fairytale for a movie that had an overall serious tone to it. I get where they're coming from, but my feelings are that even though it ended on an overly sappy note, it was transparent. His mom was gonna die again that night, and he was gonna spend his eternity alone. Not quite happy.

Fantastic puppetry work for a very underrated film.
Always suspected it made humans uncomfortable to see robots like anything but dumb subservient machines. I guess people prefer Terminators.

people who had 'virtual fish' went into a tailspin if their computer fish got sick and would call the gaming company in a panic, the fish were just on their screen and people had names on them etc- I think we would hold robots in a little more affection than is portrayed today we tend to personify things closest to us

i dont like the term puppeteer. I prefer the words "indirect actors". Its takes acting skill to pull off these things.

When I saw this movie I absolutely hate it. I would like to maybe rewatch it sometime to see it fresh, but it just seemed to drag so long, i remember it as being just miserable like it started off ok, and situations just continually got worse and worse untill the very end. Maybe I just didn't get it.
