I tried blistex hydration revitalization and it was crap,I tried Blistex deep renewal and it's better but still not as good as vaseline, there's a 3rd one called blistex lip vibrance, going to tried it for the experience.
Vaseline has saved me. My lips used to get so chapped they would bleed. Chapstick would work for a week or so but they would eventually dry out more. Winter, which is the worst for me is no longer an issue because I slather Vaseline on my lips. I am outside all year around a lot so during winter I have slathered Vaseline on my face, lips, elbows, knees, and any dry patch that pops up on my body at night. It does wonders and as long as I keep up with it I have no bleeding from dryness. Sure being greasy is uncomfortable at night but it is way less uncomfortable than being itchy and in pain from cracking.
Vaseline is truly the best lip balm. My lips started reacting to other lip balms about 12 years ago, and over the years, I tried all sorts of lip balms: fragrance free, petrolatum-based, "natural", etc. but they all irritated my lips. Vaseline has been the only thing my lips could tolerate. I find that Vaseline also helps with softening peeling lips so they can shed the dead skin efficiently. I gave the free sample of the Laneige lip mask I got from Sephora to my husband because I couldn't use it, but he even said it dried out his lips, lol.
@lolaelsiexy 😮 It's literally the best for chapped lips! I've been using it my entire life, as my Mama used it on us. Have you ever tried it? I think you would find it's very beneficial!❤
Oh I need this video. Been dealing with excessively chapped lips forever and I know I'm not caring for them as properly as I should. Great reminder to keep my vaseline or cerave ointment within reach at all times. 👄
liquid strawberry syrup on the lips, is the best and only effective method , lanolin, parabens, beeswax, shea, cocoa butter, lip balm and petrolatum makes in fact everything worse etc, i tried everything recommended by Google and other sites, none worked, They made my lips even worse and ugly , one day out of desperation, i tried out many bottled red syrup liquid fruits on my lips such as raspberry syrup and strawberry syrup, strawberry syrup was the best and only thing, That actually solved my problem immediately, it gave my lips a beautiful natural pink color and a smooth thick protective cover layer, extremely effective and cheap!💗 "Note" before putting the strawberry syrup on your lips like lipstick, First kindly remove the dead skin from your lips with your fingers using warm water, after that put a bit strawberry syrup on your Index finger, and smoothly put it on your lips like lipstick, do it "Twice" on your lips, "Note" the more strawberry syrup you put on! the more thicker and pinkier your lips will look, i only put on "Twice" using my index finger, i have been doing it for 2 years, Everyday, and it's safe to say that , This is the only solution that will work and make your lips 💋 Healthy and beautiful looking! nothing else will work! "Note" the type of syrup that you will use is the bottled ones, for example "Monin Strawberry Bottle, 250 ml"
I’ve been peeling my lips my whole life. I do it to fidget, plus I can’t stand the feeling of skin that’s starting to peel off. But I’m determined to stop this bad habit so thank you
to anyone who has tried everything, I've had peeling chapped lips since the 80's and I've tried every kind of balm and whatnot. Last November I was in Ross and picked up a set of lip oils, they smelled luscious right through the packaging so I was attracted. These lip oils are the first thing in 40 years that worked for me. No peeling, no chapping, no problem. I am sharing in case this comment can help someone else who has tried everything. Even vaseline didn't work for me, it seemed to help at first but then the skin would peel anyway. The lip oils were a godsend.
@@joshsmith162 Ross is a discount store here in the US. There may be other stores that sell it if you don't have Ross or TJ Maxx. The brand was NK makeup and it was a set of "lip gels", I think it was 5 in a pack. It was like a miracle for me, the first thing that ever worked in my whole life. You could probably find it online.
@@saleeqahad8721 I'm not sure where you live, I am in the US, the store was Ross, also TJ Maxx has something similar. The brand was called nk makeup lip gel. There may be other brands but I think the key is "lip gel". It comes in a small tube. Good luck to you.
NK lip gels are something that I wore in fifth grade lol. If you want really shiny high gloss sloppy lips, use the NK gels lol. I’m glad they work for you. But no.
Vaseline has been a life changer for my dry, flakey lips. I highly recommend it. Thanks, Dr Dray. Happy Wednesday!! Hope you have a tranquil evening. 💖
SO HELPFUL!! Thank you for not only talking about products/ ingredients that help but mentioning the things I would never think oto avoid like metals or saliva I had no idea!!
I am a senior woman who has suffered with chronic, dry lips for some time. There are some treatments that I currently use that have helped tremendously and improved my lip condition. I started using L-lysine, an amino acid needed for tissue health, collagen peptides which help in production of collagen, and what I think is the most beneficial is using a red light panel.
L-lysine has been the most helpful supplement I've ever taken in my life! I take it daily, and it has improved a handful of things that nothing else seemed to. We give patients on chemo L-lysine, and it really helps them in numerous ways as well.
@@EMILY4DAYS I used to take L-lysine to speed up canker sore healing on recommendation from someone years ago. I had no idea what it’s other benefits were!!
I put Vaseline on my lips. Before eating hot wings. I started this recently and helped so much. Cause even cleaning my lips after eating them. They just burned so much and we're inflamed. Now I do this and I don't have those issues. Vaseline is the GOAT!
She passed in July, RIP, but my mom suffered with the worst dry, cracked lips. It started off with dry lips because she was allergic to multiple ingredients and didn't know. Then she got tested and was unable to find anything she could use. She was allergic to lanolin, parabens, beeswax, shea, cocoa butter... she would use petrolatum but it irritated her skin frequently. She couldn't catch a break!
I live in a very cold area during winter with brutal freezing winds and during Christmas was -40 degree real feel. This year, I used CeraVe Healing Ointment at night and when going out. First winter I have not had chapped lips which frequently leads to "fever blisters". Holy Grail for my lips!
I live in the same type of climate. We've had another blizzard here, and I woke up with horribly chapped lips today. Then went out to shovel and all I had on hand was some rosehip seed oil that I slathered on. I will pick up some of the CeraVe soon. Thank you!
I really like Aquaphor. I use the lip-specific sticks and squeeze tubes day to day (both the SPF and regular, depending on if I'm in the sun), and the regular ointment in the tub if I get chapped. Vaseline or CeraVe Healing Ointment are great too, and doesn't have the lanolin that Aquaphor does. I almost never have issues with my lips anymore.
while I was on isotretinoin, I realised that my dry lips were worsened by my sulfate-based toothpaste. so I switched to a sulfate-free toothpaste and my lips felt so much better!
This was an extremely helpful video! I’ve suffered with dry lips forever. I put cinnamon in my oatmeal every morning and haven’t been wiping my lips off. I will be starting this. Now I just need a video for my ragged cuticles! Thank you, Dr Dray!
Do you use a cuticle oil? I could stand to do better with frequent application, but just rubbing oil on them once or twice a day really helps. I always had that issue too, especially with washing my hands all the time and never pushing my cuticles back. They grow up on the nail and then they get raggedy. It also hurt sometimes. I do well to remember to push my cuticles back once a week, and oil them 3-4. It really works! 😀
THE SALON LIFE videos on UA-cam are wonderful. Anna is a teacher about true nail care. She is much more than a manicurist. She loves to share her knowledge. She is in Spain but you can send her photos of your nails and she will give you personal attention. She really is a sweetheart! I made my own oil to rub on my cuticles. I ordered almond, jojoba, and 2 others and mixed them all. That is what I do the warm soak in and rub into my nails, too. I also rub in Vite E oil at night. It has made a huge difference in my cuticles. My nails still don't grow worth a darn but Ive given up on that!! Sigh...
I’ve been making my own lip mask by putting La Roche Posay cicaplast on my lips and Vaseline over top then I cover with Saran Wrap for like 20 min and it has saved my peeling lips!!

I have found near full relief from years of chronic, dry peeling lips by nightly use of the Laneige Lip Mask. I lather it on heavily right before bed and it stays on all night! I use another light layer in the morning after applying makeup. My lips stay hydrated throughout the day!
I use to really struggle with chapped lips. But once I started using the Cerave Healing Ointment in the AM and PM; the problem seemed to go away for me. I also wear less makeup (including lipstick) then I use to so I suspect this may be helpful as well.
I am extremely sensitized to nickel. So badly that often times stainless/surgical steel earrings cause a reaction because they can have trace amounts of nickel, but it is so low they usually market these as sensitive safe, but not for me lol. I figured this out when my piercings wouldn't heal. They were steel but my piercings wouldn't heal and were getting crusty, hot and very irritated. Switching to titanium earrings let me ears calm down and the piercings healed real quick!
I swear by bag balm myself and have been using it since I was a kid. Vaseline just sits on my lips and can sometimes burn if i use the cocobutter version, but with bag balm, I only apply once or twice, and my lips are hydrated, and the splits are drastically improved. Lanolin is the 2nd ingredient listed, but if Lanolin doesn't bother you, that's the best one to try imo.
What a really thoughtful and helpful video this is (cross my heart swear i am telling the truth). Winter is here and kind Doctor Andrea reminds us the importance not only of our face and body skin but also our lip's skin which is different and need different approach and care. The tips are simple and helpful. A funny thing is that thank God i am not alone when it comes avoiding favorants with or without colour and of course avoiding lanolin and it's bothers and cousins (😂😄). Plain petrolatum on night and spf lip balm at day 💋❤️😊☺️😇🙏 (Say no to bad habits and simple steps towards healthy lifestyle).
I find that using a gentle, unscented humectant moisturizers first and letting it absorb a bit before using an ointment like Cerave or Vaseline works really fast. Also, it's expensive, but Strivectin has an amazing lip mask that is even better than Laneige. I haven't had chapped lips since I started using that before bed. It does have fragrance but it hasn't given me an issue and it is thicker and stays put during the night.
My favorite lip balm is one I make with cocoa butter, beeswax, sunflower lecithin, honey, coconut oil, and whatever liquid oil I feel like using. It's creamy and smells a little chocolatey, and the honey and lecithin help hydrate. I really like a creamy texture for my bedside table lip balm; solid ones melt on contact and you can only apply so much, but you can apply a thick layer of creamy balm, perfect for overnight. Also: I've found that SPF lip balm doesn't stick as long as most regular lip balms. I can get it to stay longer by applying a longer-lasting waxy balm first, then adding the SPF balm over that.
Curious about my burning lips I was so helped when you mentioned not to put metal in the mouth. As a quilter I am quit guilty of holding pins in my mouth until I can reach or find my pin cushion. Mystery solved. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
This is a timely video, as many people have said! My face was peeling a bit from tretinoin and I went to gently exfoliate it with a clean washcloth. As I was doing this I noticed my lips were peeling a bit, and not thinking I “scrubbed” my lips with the washcloth to exfoliate the dry bits. Um. Don’t do that. My lips went on to peel almost the entire top layer. I’ve been covering them with Cereve ointment and leaving them be to heal.

That does sound painful! When I had bad allergic reactions last summer to lip balms that contained SPF, my lips ultimately began peeling quite badly. I KNOW Dr. Dray says not to pick at peeling skin, but I couldn’t bear the appearance of it so I did. 🤦🏽♀️😵💫
So true! People have rough skin and think they need to exfoliate when really they need to moisturize! Moisturizing has helped me so much more than exfoliating ever did.

Thanks for this video. Dealt with badly chapped lips for my entire life then finally a couple years ago (my mid 20s) I started sleuthing the internet for information because -possibly in one of your videos I learned that a lot of the ingredients in lip-care products can be irritants. Sure enough through trial and error… I realized I must be allergic to at least a few of them (beeswax, shea butter, glycerins, etc.) as I would do everything I was supposed and use the products, but after they set in and “dried” my lips would become somewhat irritated and red.. sometimes even warm feeling only to dry out and chap. I even went a period of time that I did not use any products on my lips and I noticed that they happened to improve so long as I of course kept them from getting too wet and drying in the air. Then I reallllly started paying attention to *ALL* the ingredients in the lip care products I had traditionally used and found that even many of the “simple” low irritant type lip products like Aquaphor lip products had these other ingredients besides petrolatum that may be irritants for me. Sure enough I *FINALLY* discovered that the Vaseline lip tube was the simplest formula lip-care product with only petrolatum and started using it. It was astonishing how my lips did not react at all healed… finally I found the product that worked for me and even helped heal my previously chapped lips. All this time the ingredient and brand I needed was right in front of me. 😅 I used to be so self-conscious because the middle part of my upper lip would just perpetually flake and be red or bloody… 👀 suddenly my lips were normal and it was because i stopped using all these other product I THOUGHT would help them. Go figure. I even spent money on things like the clear Chanel lip balm (which was highly recommended) but while nice feeling at first and fancy… was one of the most irritating to me in the long run and such a long list of ingredient I couldn’t even begin to pick out which one(s) might be causing problems. Anyway, I guess i should do a patch test once and for all.

I have been putting my CeraVe daily lotion on my lips and after that soaks in topping it with Vaseline. My lips went from super dry and flaky to super soft and hydrated. It has almost 'plumped' my lips as well, I assume from the extra hydration.
Truly appreciate you Dr Dray for delving into the difference between the layers of our skin and that of in the lips itself. Such a very valuable information essential to understanding the care of these two particular areas of what we call generally as "skin".
Very informative video, thanks, Dr. Dray! I used to experience really dry lips that it had gotten to a point where I thought I had exfoliative cheilitis. Licking my lips to try to keep them moisturized really did not help and I have a really bad habit of picking at scabs/ dead skin. The Aquaphor lip balm did not really work for me, and I had actually finished 4 of them. The dryness had spread to the bottom of my lip and I thought it was a cold sore and not cheilitis so I started using Docosanol 10%. Surprisingly that did work and I went about a month without my lips peeling. A few weeks later, I got really sick and caught a fever which made my "cold sore" break out again, and was experiencing cracking lips mostly on the corners of my mouth. I tried using the cold sore treatment but it wasn't working this time. Hours passed and my lip condition was not getting any better. It had gotten to a point where they started cracking and I couldn't open my mouth wide to eat or it would start bleeding. After a bit of research, I come to find out I might have angular cheilitis and started looking for another moisturizer. My wife recommended Vaseline which did kinda help but was somehow making my lips sweat which I didn't even know was possible. I switched from regular Vaseline to the Vaseline Lip Therapy which comes in tiny containers and that definitely healed my lips and didn't make them sweat. I still don't know what caused my lips to suddenly become really chapped to the point they bled, but I'm thankful I was able to find a solution. TLDR: Vaseline Lip Therapy healed my really dried peeling lips. 100/10 recommend.

So after watching your video, I think my theory as to what is causing issues with my lips is correct. I had been to my derm office for annual scan and I questioned some of these ‘pox’ I have on my face. Nothing was helping them. The PA said looked like sebaceous hyperplasia. I googled (of course) and saw that treatment would be like cleansers with niacinamide and salicylic acid. that’s when I started using the CeraVe facial cleansers. After a while I started noticing a change in my lips, where they feel like dry and almost shrinking and sometimes get a tiny bit crusty around the outside. I now have to constantly carry around with me either a lip healing ointment or a lip balm. Like constantly. At first I thought maybe stress from work, but I’ve been stressed lots of times in my lifetime and never had that reaction. It did occur to me that maybe it’s the cleanser. I don’t want to stop using the cleanser because it does seem to help reduce the appearance of the SEB HYPERPLASIA. So all I have to do is slather my lips with vaseline before I wash my face??
How it's going? Was it the CeraVe cleanser that was causing the problems with your lips? I'm struggling with dry, cracked and that "crust" u mentioned on the outline of my lips and it didn't cross my mind that it may be the cleanser.. I try to avoid my lips and eyes when cleansing but the products still gets on my lips when I wash lol. I'm using Aquaphor on my lips multiple times a day with no result 😢

I have a couple of good remedies that work for me. First, I may be the only one but petrolatum dries my lips out and so I just cannot use it. My favorite is Egyptian Magic (olive oil, beeswax, royal jelly, honey, bee pollen, propolis), so emollient I love it and apply it through the day. Another one is homeoplasmine for dry skin, irritants, dry lips, it’s a French product and I love it,I apply this thick at night. The last I learned from a dermatologist on YT, if you have peeling lips use a small dab of L’Oréal Revitalift glycolic acid all over the lips, when dry butter up with Weleda skin food, Cerave healing cream or any of your choice. I use all of these methods and my lips are never dry and as everyone knows this has been a wicked cold winter. Give one a try! Stay warm everyone!
I had been buying a product for years called POLYSPORIN VISIBLE LIP HEALTH OVERNIGHT RENEWAL THERAPY. But they discontinued it and now im looking for new ideas. I miss that product so much!
I just picked up some chapstick “chap ice” brand with an spf of 30 at Dollar Tree! My age shows in my lips! My face however doesn’t show my age. I’ve never smoked, I’ve ALWAYS used Sunscreen in my adult life. And well, genetics! My mom is nearly 90 and looks to be in her 70’s! But my lips 😢I never thought about SPF there! But thanks to Dr Dray, I use spf on my lips all the time now! 😊
Yay! I need this. My lips are so chapped in winter. I also started wearing lipstick again and lips are so dry by the end of workday. Happy Wednesday! 💙💙
I have recently used CeraVe tinted moisturizer SPF 30 and Bondi face sunscreen and their body sunscreen on my lips, all work really well, no bad taste and no burning around my eyes. I tend to have sensitive, eczema prone skin. Thanks to Dr.Dray, that has significantly improved.
Thank you so much Dr. Dray!!! I was waiting for this one, cause this girl has dry, cracked lips!!! I've been using Vaseline (original) in a mini tube! 😊💋

another tip for people who uses makeup is looking for less drying formulations, my mom had chapped lips and the main responsable was her liquid lipstick, i changed her lipstick for another one without fragances and a solid formulation with shea butter as a main ingredient :))
Love! I switched from using a simple lip balms like Vaseline to Carmex and ended up with really sore lips, so thank you for this! Explains a lot.. Also noticed using alcohol free products have improved my skin. It’s been a nightmare to find a sunscreen completely alcohol free though!! Xx
I could never understand why Carmex left me with dry lips, and then I switched to petroleum jelly, and my lips are smooth again, and I don’t feel the need to reapply as often.
You might be confusing volatile alcohols with fatty alcohols. Cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, and stearyl alcohol are all commonly used to thicken and stabilize emulsions (keep lotion from separating), and they're emollients. Sunscreens are emulsions, so fatty alcohols are almost a guarantee. They're definitely good for your skin.
Dr. Dray, you are one of my best finds on UA-cam ever! I am obsessed with lip balm and cream, specifically hand cream. I like to try different brands and I really pay attention to what works for my skin. I’ve been using Vaseline on my lips most of my life. I keep trying other brands, but they usually end up in the bin. Nothing is better than Vaseline for me and after watching your videos, I think I’m going to stop trying other brands. I honestly cannot understand why Burt’s Bees and Carmex are so popular here in the UK. I find Burt’s Bees to be very harsh on the lips and Carmen just taste like poison to me.😂 Thank you for all your precious explanations. I’ve been learning a lot from you!🙏🏻 I will keep binge watching your channel.
I have dermatilomania, a branch of OCD that makes me harm my skin (in this case, my lips) out of impulse. I started 14 years ago out of anxiety and I've tried everything to stop. I will try this now. Hope to come back with results!
I do the same thing too. I've seriously messed up my lips by getting numbed at the dentist and not knowing I was going so deep into the lip tissue. (Little balls of gelatin feeling stuff comes out of you inner lip if you open it) having something to keep my lips from chapping really helps me not chew the skin off. So far I'm finding healing ointments and Vaseline help the most (currently using aquafor lip therapy, it's not working very well) I live in Amish country and it's easy to get something called B and W ointment. It's a lot more expensive online but it really quickly heals my raw lips after picking them.
Tinting my lips so that I would be afraid to pick and peel them and have the color of them look even more patchy than my already bloody lips. And using tallow (beef fat) on my lips multiple times a day was how I finally recovered from years of having bloody chapped lips
Such a battle! I love the Cerave healing ointment at night. Although in the summer months I use the Laniege or Paula’s Choice lip treatments. I know, fragrance! But they don’t give me issues in the warm months. Your makeup looks really nice!! Happy Wednesday!
I've stopped buying regular lipsticks and lip glosses and only wear products with SPF during the day. There's a lack of good SPF focused color cosmetics for the lips on the market, but hopefully that's beginning to change.

I thought you couldn’t go wrong with lip balm. I thought there’s no chance that I could react, but I notice some lip balms seem to make the problem worse. They make my lips feel stiff and they eventually chap again. Peeling the dry skin is soo addicting I prefer Vaseline or Laneige lip mask. They work consistently.

Dr. Dray: Your thoughts on products like: 1) Blistex Simple and Sensitive Lip Balm; 2) Vaseline Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter Lip Balm; 3) Vaseline Original Lip Therapy Lip Balm. Or would you just recommend regular/original Vaseline?
Thank You So Much Dr. Dray!! Very Important Information as Always!! Happy Wednesday!! Have a Wonderful Day!!....You Look Gorgeous!! Love and Blessings!!🙏💕🕊💕🙏
Hi Jackie! Happy Wednesday!! I hope you had a beautiful day. Another very warm day here. Had a little rain too. I hope you're doing well. Peace and blessings to you, sweet friend. 💙🙏💙🕊
Petroleum jelly is a household staple here but I may have to stick to it for feet. After Lanolips made my lips dry and flaky I tried some of my Vaseline (the cocoa butter one) and that made my lips, while not dry, peel. Bought a tiny healing jelly one and the next day my lips were weirdly smooth but very matte. I have balms from YSL and PMG Labs left to try and if those are drying, might just go back to nothing at all. Wasn't really having any issues.
Oh the power of suggestion. I rarely if ever licked my lips but as soon as she started talking about it I had this overwhelming desire to lick my lips 😬
When I wear lipstick, I always apply my Aquaphor lip balm first to protect them and prevent drying. Then at bedtime I apply a petrolatum ointment. 💋 I've also given up flavored chips that use citric acid as they burn my lips and the corners of my mouth. 🥵
I love SVR Topialyse Lip Balm! The INCI follows Dr Drays advice. Its my HG and I’ll never swap! I discovered it after having a reaction on my face that left my skin in such a state and my lips peeling/cracking it was horrible… enter Dr Dray into my life! The interesting thing is before the reaction I used to find myself constantly reapplying my lip balm throughout the day and now I don’t have to, and when I look at the INCI list of my old lip balms I now know why!
You're so right, as always, Andrea! Carmex and Original Burt's Bees Lip Balm are so bad on me- Carmex because of all the weird, nasty ingredients and Burt's caused my whole mouth area to break out in nasty pimples- not sure which ingredient caused that. Love simple Vaseline or a really rich eye cream.

Thank you for the informative video! What do you think of GPH 5 Complex in stimulating collagen? It would be nice if you are able to do a video on this.
I've had chapped lips to the point that they're bloody. Once I tok a friend's advice to use Vaseline on my lips, they became a lot less chapped. I still have chapped lips -- I don't hydrate enough and I'm someone who habitually licks my lips when I'm nervous or thinking about something. Thanks for the video!
All roads lead back to petrolatum
It helps
Lol
I tried blistex hydration revitalization and it was crap,I tried Blistex deep renewal and it's better but still not as good as vaseline, there's a 3rd one called blistex lip vibrance, going to tried it for the experience.
For chapped lips, hands and face, Cerave Healing Ointment, which is mostly petrolatum, is the one that works best!
Yep!
Sure being greasy is uncomfortable at night but it is way less uncomfortable than being itchy and in pain from cracking.
same here
Vaseline is truly the best lip balm.
Wish they would take out the parabens.
@@lexijones8019 if you use regular Vaseline instead of their Lip Therapy line products, it's just pure petrolatum and doesn't have parabens
@lolaelsiexy 😮 It's literally the best for chapped lips! I've been using it my entire life, as my Mama used it on us. Have you ever tried it? I think you would find it's very beneficial!❤
Same vaselines the best

liquid strawberry syrup on the lips, is the best and only effective method , lanolin, parabens, beeswax, shea, cocoa butter, lip balm and petrolatum makes in fact everything worse etc, i tried everything recommended by Google and other sites, none worked, They made my lips even worse and ugly , one day out of desperation, i tried out many bottled red syrup liquid fruits on my lips such as raspberry syrup and strawberry syrup, strawberry syrup was the best and only thing, That actually solved my problem immediately, it gave my lips a beautiful natural pink color and a smooth thick protective cover layer, extremely effective and cheap!💗 "Note" before putting the strawberry syrup on your lips like lipstick, First kindly remove the dead skin from your lips with your fingers using warm water, after that put a bit strawberry syrup on your Index finger, and smoothly put it on your lips like lipstick, do it "Twice" on your lips, "Note" the more strawberry syrup you put on! the more thicker and pinkier your lips will look, i only put on "Twice" using my index finger, i have been doing it for 2 years, Everyday, and it's safe to say that , This is the only solution that will work and make your lips 💋 Healthy and beautiful looking! nothing else will work! Is the cerave ointment ok to put on your lips? I'm not sure if the preservative phenoxyethnol is lip (ingestion) safe...?
I’ve been peeling my lips my whole life. I do it to fidget, plus I can’t stand the feeling of skin that’s starting to peel off. But I’m determined to stop this bad habit so thank you
Right on time, Dr. Dray! My lips are dryyying out in the cold Colorado air! xx
Same!
Stay warm
Me too, it doesn’t help I suffer from dry skin anyway
to anyone who has tried everything, I've had peeling chapped lips since the 80's and I've tried every kind of balm and whatnot.
Hi, thanks for this! I don’t think we have Ross in my country, what is it? Is it like Lush?
@@joshsmith162 Ross is a discount store here in the US. There may be other stores that sell it if you don't have Ross or TJ Maxx. The brand was NK makeup and it was a set of "lip gels", I think it was 5 in a pack. It was like a miracle for me, the first thing that ever worked in my whole life. You could probably find it online.
I've had chapped lip problem since 2018, please mention the lip balm or oil was helped you, please help me
@@saleeqahad8721 I'm not sure where you live, I am in the US, the store was Ross, also TJ Maxx has something similar.

@@EMILY4DAYS Thank you for sharing that!!! I have to look it up. I have a bunch of health conditions.
try colloidal silver, nothing works better
@@RickElias1 I have never heard of using it for that purpose. My lips are much better, but may try colloidal silver in the future.
Sorry to hear you lost your mom
Sorry for your loss. Multiple allergies would certainly make it difficult to treat.
Sorry for your loss, blessings to you and yours 🙏💐

I live in a very cold area during winter with brutal freezing winds and during Christmas was -40 degree real feel. This year, I used CeraVe Healing Ointment at night and when going out. First winter I have not had chapped lips which frequently leads to "fever blisters". Holy Grail for my lips!
Stay warm
I live in the same type of climate. We've had another blizzard here, and I woke up with horribly chapped lips today. Then went out to shovel and all I had on hand was some rosehip seed oil that I slathered on. I will pick up some of the CeraVe soon. Thank you!
The Vaseline All-over Body Balm is the best way to keep lips hydrated. It’s like a huge chapstick. It has a great texture and is so easy to use.
I almost never have issues with my lips anymore.
turns out one of the ingredients in their lip line is actually an irritant for me. Now I use vaseline because it’s pretty much 100% petrolatum.
Same! Aquaphor all the way! My skin actually peels when I use Vaseline for slugging and it irritates my lips
Not a fan of it. Feels like a typical lip balm that doesn’t work
while I was on isotretinoin, I realised that my dry lips were worsened by my sulfate-based toothpaste. so I switched to a sulfate-free toothpaste and my lips felt so much better!
@@EMILY4DAYS I really should be putting oil on them and pushing them back. I will be making an effort to remember. Thank you!
Sigh...

Hi Dr Dray So Excited to be here for Dr Dray time on Wednesday my favorite time of the day i live for this❤
Morning!
I have found near full relief from years of chronic, dry peeling lips by nightly use of the Laneige Lip Mask. I lather it on heavily right before bed and it stays on all night! I use another light layer in the morning after applying makeup. My lips stay hydrated throughout the day!
Same! I have tried so many things, but Laneige at night has been a lip saver 😉
Always so timely- we love it! 💜💜💜
Happy Wednesday
I use to really struggle with chapped lips. But once I started using the Cerave Healing Ointment in the AM and PM; the problem seemed to go away for me. I also wear less makeup (including lipstick) then I use to so I suspect this may be helpful as well.
👍🏼
Greetings Terry Berg hope u r well n Happy Wednesday😀👍💜….

Finding fragrance free and hydrating products that also provide color is so hard! I want to look put together but also work outdoors in the cold wind
I have chapped lips
Right now . Thank you for sharing this .

Vaseline has been a staple in my household since I was a child. My eczema prone skin is so thankful for it!
Been looking for a lip care video for months. THANK YOU ❤

I find applying a layer of hyaluronic acid then followed by Vaseline at night
Then followed by a lip spf in the morning works the best for me
👍🏼
Do you have any lip spf recs?

I enjoy watching. So sincere, pleasant, and to the point. Thanks alot. 😊
I have been using vaseline with cocoa butter from the vaseline line. It's Fabulous ❤
Which one? Original, aloe or cocoa
@@malligaps8708 i use both the original and aloe but prefer the aloe for extra hydration
@@alessvndro_cortez another question, when you mentioned abt your lips sweating was it like water continuously coming out even after you wipe it off?

Paula’s Choice Lip and Body Treatment balm is my HG hands down.

Hello dr dray and everyone. Hope youve had a wonderful day. Its beautiful & 70 degrees here on the gulfcoast
Loved the make up!
Had bad chapped peeling lips forever I am 52 and honestly tried all dupes etc but Laneige is really the only thing that works.
Happy Wednesday dr Dray 💗💗
Same to you!
Loving your eye makeup in this video! And as always, the content is great. Thanks!

Peeling the dry skin is soo addicting

Glad it was helpful!

NO to Vaseline for me........the BEST is Blistex in the white tube......Allantoin is key!!
You're so right, as always, Andrea! Carmex and Original Burt's Bees Lip Balm are so bad on me- Carmex because of all the weird, nasty ingredients and Burt's caused my whole mouth area to break out in nasty pimples- not sure which ingredient caused that.
