Explorer is so much fun. It's definitely not an apocalypse competitive class, but you're going to use it, because you get to farm mats. Also, the first skill reducing stamina cost by 80% is nuts.
Agreed about Challenger with you Phem. That was exactly my situation. I mainly run tempest arbiter now focused on ranged DPS with hot shot. Easy to use, still skill based, and solid damage. Gets me thru apocalypse.
I have to agree with Bolt on Handler… I managed to complete Hardcore with Handler and was way easier than using any other class… the agro from the dog is awesome!

I get ya’lls point on Challenger/Handler being always sub optimal for Primary when solo, but I think they are truly phenomenal in co-op. The ability to stand yourself back up during the chaos of going for revives (or in the case of Handler, to just effortlessly revive someone via the pup) is literally run saving. Honestly, all the combo’s you placed in A for Handler/X are easy S in co-op, and something like Challenger/Medic is also going to be up there.
Ritualist Gunslinger in C crazy. Gunslinger is just such a good secondary archetype due to the additional ammo and fire/reload speed and it really helps your gun’s dps while miasma is doing its thing. It’s my go-to combo for map clearing. Now, Gunslinger Ritualist isn’t good at all, haha
@@derfloh8986 Nah, its prime perk: Grants a 35% chance to spawn additional items and rarer drops when defeating stronger enemies. And its Utility Perk: Relic Fragments discovered by the Explorer drop at a higher quality. When picking up a Fragment, the Explorer has a 5%} chance of picking up a second one of the same type & quality.
I have solo completed all bosses with hugs in apocalypse, and i dont believe "hugs is king" for a player of my caliber. And my caliber is decent but far from dodging everything with standing dodge. Yea they provide a maximum potetial in dps but once the mod is over then you need a lot of time to get it back, like 20 or more seconds downtime where your damage is gimbed, and you cant use nebula or any other secondary consistently right with it. Yea perhaps for boss fights its good but how can you compare that with an archon gunslinger or archon hunter where you pretty much constantly have your mods and the damage is still on par, plus you can do ANYTHING you want with your mods and how you want your damage or survivability to be. On hugs you go critical for damage and survivability maybe 2-3 relic choises or lifesteal that you have to invste half the build to somewhat work. There is a good video by chaos gaming showing the state of hugs right now. I find archon the best paring for both hunter and gunslinger, you sacrifise some damage but you get excellent quality of life and all your mods when you need them. For bosses yea hugs is okish, better if you are a player above my caliber, but for all else its almost unbearable, zero utility and skills/mods on constant cd. All that for gunplay ofourse.
