I thought I needed to watch these to be better at defense, but it’s making me think about pre snap offense a lot more. I think I’m leaning towards 3-4 or 4-2-5, i want speed on defense to stop the pass (Thinking or wear & tear, there’s more WR than RB)

4-3 forever, 3-4 is more versatile imo especially with disguise the blitz for sure but a 4-3 defense with fast line backers with a big 0 next to a speedie 2 tech and go daddies on the edge is is hard to beat.
Olb should be able to beat an HB if they are blocking.. also whip a TE. Mlb 2 should be a coverage guy..mlb 1 should be able to take on a guard 1v1 on the run game. You can flip your d depending on the open side of the field or boundary. Fast players should be on the side with more space to cover. Slower players are on the side that is closer to the sideline bc the sideline is an extra defender.
I thought the outside LBs in a 3-4 were really DE in a 4-3. Like TJ Watt, Joey Bosa, Terrell Suggs. And the DEs in 3-4 were really DTs from the 4-3. I’m not a coach so I’m asking because that’s how it is on madden. So wouldn’t it actually be good to stop the run with the 3-4?
I think he’s coming at this from a more true to real life perspective. He’s a football coach in real life so he’s trying to apply the stuff he knows to the game.
@@whitex3898 i believe a 3-4 can be effective in real life, but you have to have the right personnel to run it and coaching to adapter to different teams.

It does bc it's easy to find a good olb but hard to find a good DE

The Bear and Nickle systems should be within the 3-4 Base defense..
34 odd NT Both DE are on outside shoulder of Guards. D LINE play 2 gap

Also, have the largest player you can find playing the nose tackle. 350lb if you can. It's OK to be slow.

Typically only one of the outside linebackers is primarily a pass rusher in the 3-4
