I had one of these, purchased second-hand in 1988 with money from my first year tree planting. It was my big reward for 4 months of gruelling work planting the mountains of the Pacific Northwest barehand and boot screefing at average 28 cents a tree, which was fabulous money at that time, getting around 1000 into the ground each day in a 10-11 hour shift. Now the sad bit... unfortunately I set it on fire. At some point I had a party and had it cranked up and blew the left of the 3 fuses seen at 1:42. I took the middle fuse, placed it in the left socket, then wrapped the blown fuse with tinfoil and replaced it in the middle socket. I planned to replace it, but I forgot about it. 4 years later the volume control got a little bit scratchy from disuse (I had been using a mixing console to feed it and adjusting the volume there instead) so I disconnected the speakers and twisted the volume control up and down 50 times with some pressure on it, to abrade the contactors. On the 50th turn there was a loud bang, then a sweet smell, then a bitter metallic smell and smoke, then fire, and I grabbed it and put it outside on the parking lot 'til it went out... :-( Apparently you can't crank the volume without speakers attached when you've shorted that middle fuse!
