I think this scene is perfect. For me it's almost the best scene in the film. And the music makes the scene brilliant. Everything that previously seemed complicated and unattainable for Amanda is suddenly very simple because she can finally allow it. The tears are a perfect way to show this.
But I like the music even better. Every note of its melody fits. It is subtle as the two say goodbye, gets melancholy when she closes the garden gate and increases at the moment as she gets into the car and it drives away. It changes as Amanda feels the tears. And turns into joy when she realizes it and runs back. A melody couldn't convey the mood of the scene better. Genius Hans Zimmer.

@@jacobsed6665 weird..I know what it says in the film..but it also says in the film 40 mins from exciting London!. According to my Google maps its 2.5 hours from exciting London! ..... that's a big difference ..... so someone's bullsh!tting

I'm sure Cameron Diaz has many hidden talents, and I must say that I was impressed with her acting in this film. Not bad for someone who was only a model before trying a shot in Hollywood.
