I remember watching this episode after Davy's untimely passing. Of course, it made me cry. This is one of my favorite Davy episodes.
THIS episode made me cry and still makes me cry every time I see it. It's my favorite episode and allows them to show their serious acting skills as well as comedic.Especially Davy. Breaks my heart now b/c it's really like Davy is telling them good bye.😭😧
Yeah it's a beautiful episode. It's a shame that they had fewer sentimental moments in the second season. They work surprisingly well. They were never saccharine for me. Thanks for subscribing!
ONE OF OUR FAVORITES EVER! My mother said this was her FAVORITE episode too ! Mike is so funny in this and so very sweet- they all are! TRUMP MONKEES CARING AND COMMERADERIE! BLESS THEM ALL! Kimberly
I think it was the best episode they made and I would have loved to have seen more of that emotion in the series I think It would have lasted longer if they had more episodes like this.
That scene always made me cry even before Davy passed away it's like i knew it would happen or something like that was going to take place.😢
Yeah it's a shame they didn't do more sentimental episodes. They were great. I think I wrote about it in another review. I was surprised when I rewatched it that these moments really don't come across as to saccharin or soppy. It's really well done

Thanks! Although I don't have a problem with more in depth reviews, I prefer giving spoiler free reviews unless I'm doing an in depth analysis so that I'm not replacing the experience of watching it.

This has always been my favorite episode, the sequence on the beach with " Shades of Gray" plays was beautiful
Yeah it's a great episode. I was really surprised that the emotional moments worked so well when I was revisiting the Monkees. It never comes across as saccharine at all.
It's actually I wanna be free in the original broadcast, but it was replaced in some of the later reruns with Shades of Grey. They did this to promote later albums. A lot of that rerun footage is lost, but it would be nice if they had an option to have different songs on home media. Shades of Grey is such a beautiful song!
I saw it with Shades Of Grey originally and I think it works better. Not all of the replaced songs in the rerun versions do but this was a good swap.
Yeah I can see how it worked with a song with the same tone, both musically and thematically.

@@markzappasodi The way I use it definitely falls under fair use, but the copyright claim system is automated, so it's easier to try and avoid it altogether
