Dig Al Roker, P.D. (Pre-Diet). Was his local forecasting for WNBC during the Blizzard of 1993 a reason he eventually got put on the "Today Show" as their resident meteorologist?
Shows how long ago this was, they was using a pointing stick during the "AM Weather" program. That 5 day outlook at 6:18 early in week calling for a rain/snow mix and 38 degrees for Saturday proved demonstrably false. Of course later that week the forecasts were revised to reflect the monster that was coming.
I was 16 in 93 I don’t remember what channel did the weather with a stick! Weird!!
