      Mama always said "Never pack away winter clothes until after the Easter cold snap." Also keep out a light jacket. My year round jacket was a navy button down shirt made of heavy cotton; that was part of my dad's old winter Police uniform. I took it to school for the uneven AC distribution.

      @Rainbow Sky No problem.. Egg wash, say four eggs for 6-8 slices of bread, the bread being slightly dry. Adding milk just seems to add gumminess as the milk solids curdle with the cooking. A tablespoon of water to 4 eggs mixed into the wash and then a dash of vanilla. No cinnamon in the wash, too much chance of scorching, though it's fine for after pan application.
      Plain white bread or Texas toast is fine, though I really like what's called "butter bread". If you can get it, slicing up a loaf of Jewish challa works fantastic.

      honestly the stereotype of not having winter in the South, or at lest in Texas, is way overblown, it's just not comparable to what it's like up north. And over the last several years I have noticed that winter has been getting more harsh, and even had some sporadic snow accumulation here and there. And every few years or so we get a big freeze, this past February was the worst in a long time, but there was also a freeze in 2014, just not as bad.

Funny thing was we lived about 1/2 mile from a substation…everything from the substation west had electric, those of us on the east side…not so much…the local HS had a generator, so a number of us were cooking meals in the HS for local families to pick up…people were having to get their water from the HS and/or a local spring…it was madness, but the community came together and we all made it…lol!

I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Please do this so you dont have to burn in hell for eternity and if you do this and TRULY belive and have faith you will be saved and whoever belives in him shall not perish but have eternal life with God! I'm from the Carolinas but lived a LOT in GA. That is soooo true. The funny thing is I spent a lot of my military time in the Syracuse NY area, where they also have 2 seasons... Winter and August 🤣. The way nothing fun is allowed to happen in Atlanta until it's AT LEAST 90 degrees, in Syracuse they want to do all fun outdoor stuff only if there's snow on the ground. I entered one 5K there...it HAD to be in early March and be lightly snowing. I mean... Heaven forebid it wait until say MAY. It wouldn't be very warm, but AT LEAST it wouldn't be snowing 🤔🙄.

Along the sidewalk in front of the hotel, in front of every parking spot, were poles with electrical outlets for people to plug in their car's block heater. One poor guy in a Mercedes diesel was trying to start his car with gelled diesel fuel. He might still be trying to start his car today. Those Northerners are so quick to criticize how us Southerners can’t handle the cold. I invite them to try and not pass out during our 100-110 degree summers with 100% humidity...and by summer I mean May through October! LOL!!

    • @leeluv96
      @leeluv96 5 років тому +4

      Soooo I'm from Detroit and we get plenty of 100+ degree days with humidity. So it sticks to your body and burns through your soul, unrelenting, until you can't breathe because the air is so thick. The jalapeno peppers growing in your garden patch begin to wilt. The insects rise in power over the government and the people. The animals completely disappear. Steam rises from the lakes. The fish give up the ghost and float in ungodly ways. LOL 😂😂😂

    • @jaklumen
      @jaklumen 5 років тому +1

      You just have to inform folks moving in what your weather is like overall. I'm in the inland Pacific Northwest (DOE-Hanford area) and our Texas and Cali transplants that came for lower cost of living are freaking out over snowstorm Lucian right now. They don't know our normally mild winters are punctuated with cold blizzards once in a while, i.e., every 8-10 years. Like clockwork, the newcomers panic buy snow boots, ice melt, and snow shovels at those times until they are sold out throughout our 3 city area. They rarely consider sand and kitty litter.

Also, had no idea I had to be worried about hurricanes even though don't live near the beach. Don't even get me started about thunderstorm warnings. Totally ignored them all my life until the first year I lived here I had 9 pine trees fall during one storm. Now, I am worried about one falling on my house when it rains
