@@elekktronaut question for you: when I use the TDA_MIDI component I notice it responds really sluggishly on the other side in TD. I get all sorts of delays and misfires from the CHOP when trying to play MIDI notes in quick succession (8th notes, 16th notes) on the Ableton side. Is there any solve for this? I'veh heard the OSC rack is a little more precise but who knows.
great video! i tried to connect it with a glsl shader, with one uniform value to control the shader, but i ended up with a warning related to a cook dependency issue. i dont’t get it. it works well but the warning tells me i’m missing something. can you help out? thanks in advance
Thanks, for all the wonderful tutorials! I noticed though when I entered multiple kicks on the pattern, it was still only firing off at 4/4 , is there something that would allow it to fire off on multiple trigger events, for example if I had place extra kicks in between 1 and 2, those multiple kicks dont light up?
Everything has gone smoothly for me up until 4:42 at which point I get lost. Your mouse pointer disappears, so I don't know what you did to make the display update/circle get smaller. I worked out click and hold on 'Radius' brings up the value options, and I selected 0.1 as you did, but the value does not seem to 'stick'... Ah! But I can click the '+' and change both x and y radii separately to 0.1. That worked! Yet to see if that will enable the rest of this and following tutorials to work though. Fingers crossed... EDIT: Yes, it works!!! Onward! >>>>>
THANK YOU THANK YOU! So I finished your other tutorial titled "AURORA AUDIO SPECTRUM" and I was wondering wondering how to hook up this kind of mapping to be the source of the audio for the aurora audio spec. so the visuals are manipulated via ableton instead of a set song. That would be really cool. I started off by copying the aurora map into this midi map and then it turns out it's kind of tricky, since I'm still learning
Hello, could you help me, my filter is acting real wierd. I copied your parameters, and either it doesnt slow the animation or it makes the signal constant, there is no between
Hello! Thanks a lot for those tutorials! I'm wondering what would be the best way to syncronise TD "speed" to ableton's BPM. For instance i would like to have 3D / 2D animations on TD that are always in sync with ableton even if i change the BPM on ableton? What would be the easiest way? Would i have to somehow send the BPM from ableton to TD and then convert BPM to MS and use MIDI notes to re-trigger the animations on the beat or is there easier / more straight forward ways? Thank You!
Hi, when I click "pulse" to create a TdaMIDI it says TdaMIDI(Not Found). If I create it from ableton it also doesn't find it...do you know what could be happening? Thanks in advance!
Did you follow the previous tutorial on how to import TouchDesigner Midi pack into Ableton's MIDI remote script folder and select it in your MIDI devices?
Hey hi! Great tutorial! I've been messing around with TD and I had a bad time trying to using a live input Midi ( playing it live from Roland TM-2 instead of playing clips) and it turned out that TD can see it on MIDI log but can't see it on MIDI in CHOP. Have you ever tried to send Midi Note from a live instrument to TD?
Followed the first video ok and got it linked up on a Mac (copying over only the touch designer folder as mentioned in the comments). Anyone else just keep getting a "Vulcan error" and touch designer crashes? I can't actually do anything with it as it just crashes unfortunately
bless your soul for all of your tutorials
❤️

Great set of tuts. Tks. Do we need the commercial version to try this out?

You also might not be fully connected.
