I think Doll’s death was sad but also fitting. She had good intentions in the end but was uncaring as she hurt those around her. She isolated herself believing she didn’t need help, choosing to always go alone no matter the options - and then she was faced with a situation similar to how Uzi faced Tessa/Cyn, but there was no N to save her, resulting in her untimely demise. Tldr: She lived alone she died alone
N was capable of saving her, even Uzi could, but they just stare with fear. N could just blast a laser, and Uzi can use her AbsoluteSolver because it is currently focusing on controlling Tessa's body making her not vulnerable to being controlled (unlike in episode 6 where Tessa was shown idle while Uzi trying her best not to make a null blast)
That final message Doll gave us, "Fight back", was definitely directed to Uzi, telling her to don't give up and stay strong to all the horrors ahead. A very good act by her when she was in her final minutes
It wasn't for nothing. It was just a story point serving as evidence that you can't let your fears and grief consume you, regardless of circumstance. Otherwise they'll guide you and the ones you actually love straight to your graves. Seeing that play out sooner than expected is, yes, disappointing. Which is how it's supposed to feel. Moral: Don't be the Doll of your story 💜

Doll is one of the most popular characters of MD but her death is more dark/tragic than V's. She died by an abomination, with foxy's jumpscare, without music or people who care fro her, unlike V.
They did Doll DIRTY, hopefully she backed up her mind before going to cabin fever so she can be brought back (even thought she might have no memory of her being in cabin fever)
if Doll was to come back it could be one of two ways 1. even if Doll was eaten she would possibly take back control and help Uzi kill Cyn, her death came so fast i really want to see her come back even for a second 2.maybe she can clone herself or get some help to bring her back, but probably she wouldn't remenber anything about the lab
I've seen someone mention that her and Uzi should've teamed up at some point, get seperated and THEN have her be killed and I absolutely agree. Would've been more impactful since she was just another victim of the AS
I agree. I wouldn't liked it if Doll and Uzi worked together before Doll got killed off. It would've been nice to have Doll go from antagonist to ally, and Tessa goes from ally to antagonist.
While it'd be good to see, I think Doll was just too far gone by the time they met. Uzi tries to not consciously murder her own kind, while Doll has decided to become the exact type of monster she hated for revenge at all costs, until it left her alone and without backup.
Doll was already screwed the moment she inconvenienced and tried to have "Tessa" killed aswell as unknowningly giving her the information she wanted, so Cyn saw no reason to keep Doll alive or even use her as another host.
I do hope that she is still alive! I mean come on, she survived already so much, I thought she has plot armor...But it would be so sad if all she did was for nothing. Her character has so much potential, especially since we still haven't seen much of her mom. ❤

I had never thought of Doll in this way. Your statement that Doll would be the "Shadow the Hedgehog" of this series makes a lot of sense. Well the parallel is there, it's no secret, it was always there. Doll is the representation of Uzi if she had gone to a "dark side". Even if we think about it, Yeva and Nori's interactions would be how things would have been if Doll and Uzi had worked things out and teamed up to face the Absolute Solver. It's really sad how things ended up for her, as it was her desire for revenge and her stubbornness in teaming up with Uzi that took her to a "darker" place.
Doll was done so dirty, one of the most rich, exciting characters who had a compelling backstory. To make it worse, this seems permanent unlike V's death
We all expected Doll to join Uzi & N, other stories have established it to us as the trajectory of such characters. The fact she seemed to be reaching that point only to die is bitter.
It's not a whole lot, but I did look back into the video to see that the Tessa/Cyn-robot hybrid is what killed Doll AND that when Tessa unzipped her suit and ate Doll, she ate Dolls heartbeat thing, like what Nori's current form is in the show.

Something i think plays a role into their contrast is not only dolls lack of compassion for others but lack of supporting cast, she is on her own, and not only does not fight to protect others, but also does not have anyone else to fight with her.
2:30 I don't think it's use that allows the AS control, it's emotional trauma that does, along with oil. For doll, watching her parents die was what activated it, for Uzi, it was her father leaving her for dead. it grew in Uzi when encountering the rouge a.i. for the first time, and fearing being all alone or losing N. Doll didn't give as much, but it was enough for the absolute solver to try something, and doll stopped it.
That is actually an interesting theory, I mean she should already have the patch thanks to having inherited it from her mother like she did with the absolute solver/virus so it is possible.

While possible, I think that it was more of the fact that N was actually nice to her (most worker drones didn't seem to be) when she had initially destroyed his head and even showed her some kindness and compassion in episode 1. Even to the point of switching sides, he also seemed to put her safety and well-being ahead of his own in the first episode and afterward, in my opinion, that was what caused Uzi to befriend N not that she couldn't kill him. he gave her something that she needed deep down but was unable to gain from other worker drones aside from maybe 1 or 2. She may have realized this on a subconscious level at first, while consciously realizing that he could help her achieve her goals at least at first.
Everyone thinks that Doll's parents were killed when she hasn't had legs or arms but they were murdered after V and J got into the bunker thru vent's in episode 1. She's seen hiding from V and probably most likely got out to the rest of the group that tried to escape.
Doll’s death works because she has gone through so much but has also completed what she wanted to do which is to find answers but she was my favorite character and was very cool
While I don't think it will happen, between her death and Cyn consuming her, Doll's body left unattended for quite a long time. I think there is a tiny little chance that her heart managed to escape, which would mean that she can return either as Nori did, or as the monster J turned into but without Cyn's control.
That was very well said. Couldn't think of an explanation better than this. This is more than just explaining Doll's side of the story but also, the differentiation between Uzi's and Doll's points of view. As a side note, I honestly think Doll deserves to be revived in some way so that she has a chance to redeem for dying for nothing and killing for nothing. Doll has quite the potential for further character development imo, and just leaving her off as a side character is a bit sad, I think.

I would like to think that somehow, Doll will make one last appearance in the end; Maybe she somehow takes control of Dyntessa (Doll+Cyn+Tessa-Thing) just long enough for N or Uzi to deal the finishing blow? Just a hope for the end, though I really can't see it actually happening.
Doll was my favorite character, I was kinda disappointed by her death. Hopefully her core is somehow still alive inside Cyn, and she could get barfed out or claw her way out of Cyn’s stomach. Her death just felt rather abrupt and the fact that Glitch released a figurine of her on the same episode as her death makes me feel like she has a small chance to come back by having her core being freed either through her clawing her way out of Cyn or if the solver is defeated maybe all the consumed drones get freed. She probably had the most brutal death in the series, second only to Tessa. Literally gutted like a fish and had to shamble over to the church for minutes on end while her guts were spilling out just to warn Uzi, and then when Cyn ate her core the core was squirming around. RIP (probably)
I agree, I mean, the way it happened was a good decision overall with the way her character was written, but it happened too soon. I think that it was done in the best way it could have probably been done but I think it was something that should have happened later in the series, but that is just my opinion you're free to disagree with me on this if you don't feel the same.
Wow... l never really considered Doll to be this tragic. I mostly perceive her as just an obstacle for the main gang to defeat . But after watching this video, it made me really appreciate her character and her journey to this story even more, especially in her final moment. Thank you for this in depth video Cartoon Universe for making me understand Doll in a more deeper way. Doll is what Uzi could've been if she didn't have the capability to love or care about other people.
I hope we ether get flashbacks off doll or a sister show of her relationships because I love her as a character. If they do do a spin off I think they should make the main character Thad or Lizzy instead of Doll herself to make sure we still get in healthy little doses and it would give the B team more presence in the show.
I'm not entirely convinced that Doll is completely gone since the ASV can turn the inorganic into the organic and Nori is inhabiting her core/heart so that could be an option as well because we have proof that two programs can share the same body.

Doll only killed her classmates so v can go to prom and take revenge for her parents by killing her, you can tell because she was holding a piece of paper with a list of prom contestants, and the reason she laughs when she kills her classmates is possible because she was going crazy or she knew she was getting close to revenge. I was quite surprised she ended up being Absolver bait (in two ways), considering I always thought she'd stay till the end. Having seen Episode 7 and then this though, I am appreciating Doll as a character but do now kinda feel bad for her knowing things in hindsight.
A little while ago I realized doll has a button over her eye, but Ragatha from tadc looks like a doll and also has a button over her eye. I dont know if it was on purpose or just a coincidence, just a little detail I noticed.
I went "aww man, REALLY?" because i liked her character, yet she got jumped by a demonic silly. Imagine if her flesh core (i still want to know why drones have fleshy cores) is still active inside Cyn, kinda getting the same treament of what was left from Nori.
As a sadist (with empathy, I wouldn't even think to do anything to anyone in real life), Murder Drones' horror elements are satisfying to watch for me. I'm grateful that such a show exists. A lot of sadistic representation in media is very over the top and inaccurate, portraying sadists as awful people who have no filter and take joy in constantly mistreating people physically and emotionally. And I mean, some people can be like that, but they're not the majority. Sadists who lack empathy and do hurt people are more noticeable. They end up being talked about in media, and then the public thinks that all sadists are like this. But the truth is that most sadists aren't that noticeable. Most of them have empathy too, they are able to control themselves and don't want to actually hurt anybody. They blend in society just fine and they aren't really noticed or talked about. Like me. But that stereotype about sadists that puts them all in the same bag is harmful, and it erases empathetic sadists' existence in the eyes of the public. I researched sadism on Google and most the sites explaining what it is said sadists are inherently violent and harmful which, if you paid attention to what I said, isn't necessarily true. During my research, little to no sites I found said something like "But not all sadists are like that, a lot of them have empathy as well". And even the few who appeared more nuanced didn't say it super clearly either. That's why I think that Murder Drones' sadistic representation is great. It can not only be enjoyable for sadists to watch, it also shows they're not just heartless monsters. Doll it's obvious, but Uzi also has these sadistic tendencies. It seems that their sadism comes from the Absolute Solver, which does seem to take joy in consuming humans, drones, and even entire planets. But unlike Doll, Uzi manages to not act out on these tendencies. Most of the time at least, episode 4 exists after all. But when she regains control, she's distraught by what she has done. She's still an empathetic and good person, as said in the video. Murder Drones has one of the most if not the most nuanced and accurate sadistic representation out there and I love it for this (and many other reasons obviously). And for the sadists who do feel like they want to hurt real people, shows like Murder Drones can give them their fill and make it like they don't actually hurt real people. Kinda like the way violent video games can help them fulfill their fantasies in a fictional world where there are no consequences instead of in real life.

8:21 I find that "shadow-show" to be FAR more understandable and FAR more compelling than whatever tf is happening within the main MD plotline, so you can imagine how I feel.
doll and uzi's relationship makes me SOB. there is so much going on in their relaitonship depsite having only interacted a couple of times before doll ultimetly died its insane
Doll is the most tragic character in the series to be honest. She was "born" with a "curse", that is the AbsoluteSolver. Seeing on how Doll easily kill those around her without hesitation and Uzi losing control during her initial investigation and discovery of Cabin Fever, I believe the AbsoluteSolver slowly corrupts those who use it mentally into psychopaths. Doll embraces it, while Uzi fought it and she eventually won. Doll either gave up or was too weak to fight the influence, so she embraced it fully. All Doll does is typical broken character. V killed her parents. She wants revenge, that is why she attacked during prom, but was defeated. In the end, she wants to find the patch to cure herself from the curse. But due to her unwillingness to work together with Uzi, a person she knew also has the same curse as her, it resulted in her dying and never achieving her goal. A death that is of agony and terror, all alone forever forgotten deep within the abyss of Cabin Fever labs.
Doll's my favourite and I hate how she pretty much had no purpose besides creepy antagonist and lore progression. She did like, nothing. I dunno why she was so hyped up and had hints of a larger plot based around her, only to die before anything large happens. It sucks. I can only hope Yeva is still alive somehow and brings Doll back, but that's unlikely. I really don't get what Doll even did for the series, I wish she had a bigger role.
could be that, since the solver (seemed to have) had more control over Nori (we don't know how Yeva was before she got the patch), that the Solver was able to more easily corrupt Uzi, despite Doll having been using the Solver for longer (can't be that Yeva got the patch while Nori didn't, because they both got the patch before the core collapse)
Привет, Doll fictionkin here. I love seeing people care about my existence. I'm not telling anyone about anything i remember from my life, what's the fun with that... It was awful. I can say that much.
While I partially agree with you, she did kill a lot of drones and showed little to no regret or remorse for doing so to the point that it seems she thinks that the end result justifies the way she gets to it even if it means she has to murder a bunch of innocents to do so. She also doesn't seem to care about using others to achieve her goals as she seemed to do to Lizzy and possibly other "friends" she may have had.
I didn't know Doll was one of your favorites. And let me tell you, you ain't alone. She was my favorite ever since ep 3 dropped I just hope she and V come back. Before you say it's just because I like them, it's mainly because they have a set up rivalry that...yeah was kind of forgotten after ep 3

Hopefully that's the case and Doll pulls a J, because J also had her core destroyed and thus fully died, but still lived thanks to having a clone backup with her memories.

Well the parallel is there, it's no secret, it was always there.
Doll is the representation of Uzi if she had gone to a "dark side".
Even if we think about it, Yeva and Nori's interactions would be how things would have been if Doll and Uzi had worked things out and teamed up to face the Absolute Solver.
It's really sad how things ended up for her, as it was her desire for revenge and her stubbornness in teaming up with Uzi that took her to a "darker" place.

It's not a whole lot, but I did look back into the video to see that the Tessa/Cyn-robot hybrid is what killed Doll AND that when Tessa unzipped her suit and ate Doll, she ate Dolls heartbeat thing, like what Nori's current form is in the show.

Something i think plays a role into their contrast is not only dolls lack of compassion for others but lack of supporting cast, she is on her own, and not only does not fight to protect others, but also does not have anyone else to fight with her.
2:30 I don't think it's use that allows the AS control, it's emotional trauma that does, along with oil. For doll, watching her parents die was what activated it, for Uzi, it was her father leaving her for dead. it grew in Uzi when encountering the rouge a.i. for the first time, and fearing being all alone or losing N. Doll didn't give as much, but it was enough for the absolute solver to try something, and doll stopped it.
I think Doll had the patch already and she didn't know. And now with Cyn having Doll's core, the patch will infect Cyn and cure her as well.
That is actually an interesting theory, I mean she should already have the patch thanks to having inherited it from her mother like she did with the absolute solver/virus so it is possible.

While possible, I think that it was more of the fact that N was actually nice to her (most worker drones didn't seem to be) when she had initially destroyed his head and even showed her some kindness and compassion in episode 1. Even to the point of switching sides, he also seemed to put her safety and well-being ahead of his own in the first episode and afterward, in my opinion, that was what caused Uzi to befriend N not that she couldn't kill him. he gave her something that she needed deep down but was unable to gain from other worker drones aside from maybe 1 or 2. She may have realized this on a subconscious level at first, while consciously realizing that he could help her achieve her goals at least at first.

Everyone thinks that Doll's parents were killed when she hasn't had legs or arms but they were murdered after V and J got into the bunker thru vent's in episode 1. She's seen hiding from V and probably most likely got out to the rest of the group that tried to escape.
Doll’s death works because she has gone through so much but has also completed what she wanted to do which is to find answers but she was my favorite character and was very cool

While I don't think it will happen, between her death and Cyn consuming her, Doll's body left unattended for quite a long time. I think there is a tiny little chance that her heart managed to escape, which would mean that she can return either as Nori did, or as the monster J turned into but without Cyn's control.

That was very well said. Couldn't think of an explanation better than this. This is more than just explaining Doll's side of the story but also, the differentiation between Uzi's and Doll's points of view. As a side note, I honestly think Doll deserves to be revived in some way so that she has a chance to redeem for dying for nothing and killing for nothing. Doll has quite the potential for further character development imo, and just leaving her off as a side character is a bit sad, I think.
I really think she deserved more screentime.

I would like to think that somehow, Doll will make one last appearance in the end; Maybe she somehow takes control of Dyntessa (Doll+Cyn+Tessa-Thing) just long enough for N or Uzi to deal the finishing blow? Just a hope for the end, though I really can't see it actually happening.
Doll was my favorite character, I was kinda disappointed by her death. Hopefully her core is somehow still alive inside Cyn, and she could get barfed out or claw her way out of Cyn’s stomach. Her death just felt rather abrupt and the fact that Glitch released a figurine of her on the same episode as her death makes me feel like she has a small chance to come back by having her core being freed either through her clawing her way out of Cyn or if the solver is defeated maybe all the consumed drones get freed.
She probably had the most brutal death in the series, second only to Tessa. Literally gutted like a fish and had to shamble over to the church for minutes on end while her guts were spilling out just to warn Uzi, and then when Cyn ate her core the core was squirming around. RIP (probably)

I agree, I mean, the way it happened was a good decision overall with the way her character was written, but it happened too soon. I think that it was done in the best way it could have probably been done but I think it was something that should have happened later in the series, but that is just my opinion you're free to disagree with me on this if you don't feel the same.
Wow... l never really considered Doll to be this tragic. I mostly perceive her as just an obstacle for the main gang to defeat . But after watching this video, it made me really appreciate her character and her journey to this story even more, especially in her final moment. Thank you for this in depth video Cartoon Universe for making me understand Doll in a more deeper way. Doll is what Uzi could've been if she didn't have the capability to love or care about other people.
I hope we ether get flashbacks off doll or a sister show of her relationships because I love her as a character.
If they do do a spin off I think they should make the main character Thad or Lizzy instead of Doll herself to make sure we still get in healthy little doses and it would give the B team more presence in the show.
I'm not entirely convinced that Doll is completely gone since the ASV can turn the inorganic into the organic and Nori is inhabiting her core/heart so that could be an option as well because we have proof that two programs can share the same body.

Doll only killed her classmates so v can go to prom and take revenge for her parents by killing her, you can tell because she was holding a piece of paper with a list of prom contestants, and the reason she laughs when she kills her classmates is possible because she was going crazy or she knew she was getting close to revenge.

I was quite surprised she ended up being Absolver bait (in two ways), considering I always thought she'd stay till the end.
Having seen Episode 7 and then this though, I am appreciating Doll as a character but do now kinda feel bad for her knowing things in hindsight.
A little while ago I realized doll has a button over her eye, but Ragatha from tadc looks like a doll and also has a button over her eye. I dont know if it was on purpose or just a coincidence, just a little detail I noticed.

As a sadist (with empathy, I wouldn't even think to do anything to anyone in real life), Murder Drones' horror elements are satisfying to watch for me.
I'm grateful that such a show exists. A lot of sadistic representation in media is very over the top and inaccurate, portraying sadists as awful people who have no filter and take joy in constantly mistreating people physically and emotionally.
And I mean, some people can be like that, but they're not the majority. Sadists who lack empathy and do hurt people are more noticeable. They end up being talked about in media, and then the public thinks that all sadists are like this.
But the truth is that most sadists aren't that noticeable. Most of them have empathy too, they are able to control themselves and don't want to actually hurt anybody. They blend in society just fine and they aren't really noticed or talked about. Like me.
But that stereotype about sadists that puts them all in the same bag is harmful, and it erases empathetic sadists' existence in the eyes of the public.
I researched sadism on Google and most the sites explaining what it is said sadists are inherently violent and harmful which, if you paid attention to what I said, isn't necessarily true.
During my research, little to no sites I found said something like "But not all sadists are like that, a lot of them have empathy as well". And even the few who appeared more nuanced didn't say it super clearly either.
That's why I think that Murder Drones' sadistic representation is great. It can not only be enjoyable for sadists to watch, it also shows they're not just heartless monsters.
Doll it's obvious, but Uzi also has these sadistic tendencies. It seems that their sadism comes from the Absolute Solver, which does seem to take joy in consuming humans, drones, and even entire planets.
But unlike Doll, Uzi manages to not act out on these tendencies. Most of the time at least, episode 4 exists after all. But when she regains control, she's distraught by what she has done. She's still an empathetic and good person, as said in the video.
Murder Drones has one of the most if not the most nuanced and accurate sadistic representation out there and I love it for this (and many other reasons obviously).
And for the sadists who do feel like they want to hurt real people, shows like Murder Drones can give them their fill and make it like they don't actually hurt real people.
Kinda like the way violent video games can help them fulfill their fantasies in a fictional world where there are no consequences instead of in real life.

Doll is the most tragic character in the series to be honest. She was "born" with a "curse", that is the AbsoluteSolver. Seeing on how Doll easily kill those around her without hesitation and Uzi losing control during her initial investigation and discovery of Cabin Fever, I believe the AbsoluteSolver slowly corrupts those who use it mentally into psychopaths. Doll embraces it, while Uzi fought it and she eventually won. Doll either gave up or was too weak to fight the influence, so she embraced it fully. All Doll does is typical broken character. V killed her parents. She wants revenge, that is why she attacked during prom, but was defeated. In the end, she wants to find the patch to cure herself from the curse. But due to her unwillingness to work together with Uzi, a person she knew also has the same curse as her, it resulted in her dying and never achieving her goal. A death that is of agony and terror, all alone forever forgotten deep within the abyss of Cabin Fever labs.
Doll and Tessa were my favorites. Episode 7 broke my heart dude

Doll's my favourite and I hate how she pretty much had no purpose besides creepy antagonist and lore progression. She did like, nothing. I dunno why she was so hyped up and had hints of a larger plot based around her, only to die before anything large happens. It sucks. I can only hope Yeva is still alive somehow and brings Doll back, but that's unlikely. I really don't get what Doll even did for the series, I wish she had a bigger role.
i think the reason for Doll having total control of the absolute solver and no losing control like Uzi is because Uzi is the absolute solvers host
could be that, since the solver (seemed to have) had more control over Nori (we don't know how Yeva was before she got the patch), that the Solver was able to more easily corrupt Uzi, despite Doll having been using the Solver for longer (can't be that Yeva got the patch while Nori didn't, because they both got the patch before the core collapse)
Nori didn't get the patch fully installed only a partial installation was done, while Yeva had the patch fully installed in her.

I feel pretty bad for Doll she Didn't deserved what happened To her
While I partially agree with you, she did kill a lot of drones and showed little to no regret or remorse for doing so to the point that it seems she thinks that the end result justifies the way she gets to it even if it means she has to murder a bunch of innocents to do so. She also doesn't seem to care about using others to achieve her goals as she seemed to do to Lizzy and possibly other "friends" she may have had.
