The Catalinbread Montavillian Echo offers a vintage voice and spacious repeats that can fade out with grace or musical self oscillation. Catalinbread carefully tuned this circuit around a PT2399 chip which can go from murky bucket brigade to bright and shimmering repeats with the aid of a low pass filter. With just over 600ms, the Catalinbread Montavillian Echo can cover a lot of ground. Plus, a high quality Burr Brown Op-Amp ensures your guitar's signal is preserved in the sea of wondrous echoes.
this demo makes me think that perhaps this pedal is the best of all the many digital tape-echo-in-a-box pedals out there.
That is just an incredible audio track! Listen with your best headphones, you'll thank me!
PGS and Catalinbread...Can't wait to see more demos!
This one is really spacey! So cool!
Sweet! You carry Catalinbread!
WOOOT! pgs stocking catalinbread! thats so awesome!!
I agree about different amp usage. It's nice to hear what nice sounds can come out of such a nice amp, but it would be easier to understand the pedal/guitar if we were hearing an amp that was closer to what most people have.
nice dark echo. Very analog like
@Schpudd I've found that before using delays and stuff you have to be equally as good without them.... Working on that stuff has made my time-based stuff loads better. ;)
About TIME! Catalinbread was missing from PGS!!!!!!!! What took so long!!!!!
@ProGuitarShopDemos i've allready found it, very nice, too bad you guys don't exist over here in europe, but maybe i'll buy this one and ship it over then
I thought about saying that this sounds nice, but stuff that's reviewed by PGS always sounds nice.
Why is it that guitarists playing through a delay pedal always seem to play in time to the delays?
I have the Lofi 616 so.......I need this too
@reallybored32 They have good stuff at a reasonable price. You just have to look around a bit to find it.
Is this as good as the echorec? I understand that different pedals are useful for different sounds but as an all round delay, is it as useful?
Is that first part from a song? If it's not and you were improvising, you should totally record an album. I'd buy it.
Could PGS possibly demo some blackstar equipment if at all possible?
please anyone tell me what guitar he uses in 4:02 it's so perfect
are you playing some soda stereo music? At 1:50+???
so.. when will you demo that last reverend? the blue telestrat thing? :)
I love when people tell PGS how to demo their gear...yeah sure lets change everything because you want it this way
What kind of guitar is the sonic blue one?
Can you make a manx loaghtan fuzz video? Pleaseeeeeee... :D
this or the deep blue delay anyone?
PGS, I think you should start to use the Deluxe Reverb in demos again, and not use the Tone King imperial quite as much. It may be different from what lots of people are used to. Thanks.
I've been a huge fan of Nic's stuff from day one but I loathe the new artwork design on the pedals. Part of the great thing about Catalinbread was that the pedals were works of art, and now they look like weird kitschy '70s things.
What is the song at 0:27?
@Schpudd You dont suck, you're just not Andy....
i prefer the montavillian
Just curious, did I get moderated?
I don't remember the Monty costing that much!
3:12 dat tele (?) so much want
Is this pedal analog or digital?
Analog! I believe that all of catalinbread's pedals are, and they are all fucking amazing at what they do!
It's digital
@Guitarisforgrins Hey maybe you didn't notice but the economy is pretty bad, lots if people need jobs. I'm fortunate enough to have one but my delay is a used Ibanez I got for $30.
@reallybored32 Someone needs to get a job...
stop using an amp no-one can afford! but good vids :)
overpriced IMO. nice demo though!
