Van: Safety, convenience, no extra insurance & registration Trailer: Flexibility (you can leave the trailer at the campsite, then drive your car to supermarket), more room, less headache with maintenance
Nice video you put together. I think trailer - less noise, less weight on axle, fire safety, flexibility and so on. I think in van only front seats are comfortable. More than 2 people will feel more comfortable when traveling in car.
That’s one of the best van designs I’ve seen, especially the dresser. Small details like the seat back angle adjustments are phenomenal! Kudos! I’m 6’2”, so the van bed is a dealbreaker for me, although the mattress looks more comfortable. Cost was not one of your topics, and even though the Alto is pricey, I have to believe that it would win hands down in this area. I don’t know how tall the van is, but I suspect residential garage parking isn’t an option. Given the lightweight nature of the Alto, any tow vehicle is also functional as an every day vehicle. Don’t know that I’d say the same thing if you had a larger trailer and needed 3/4 ton truck or larger. As others have mentioned, the convenience of a means to run errands outweighs the setup convenience of the van. So trailer it is! But you’re both winners! You should both get shirts stating that each lifestyle is great. 🙂
I have a camper van simply because I didn’t want to purchase a tow vehicle. I LOVE LOVE Safari Condo and would even TOW this behind my rig ! Both are fantastic - just depends on your situation. Bravo 🚎😎
Well given we have an R1723, we have to vote for “trailer” but honestly what your daughter has done with her van is amazing. Absolutely love the interior decorating and those dresser drawers are amazing we prefer separate TV or else your daughter would have got our vote lol
On my boat I have a very large cutting board that fits the top drawer. So with a burner on the counter it gives you counter space in front of the burner
I love love love the van and how cleverly everything was set up for convenience. For two people under 5'10" its perfect! HOWEVER, my vote goes to the trailer because it has a little more flexibility for slightly larger families and for the simple fact that the tow vehicle can be used to take the occasional trip without having to break down camp. Finally, for us all-electric folks out there the trailer is the only way to go!
Thinking of going that route too! Scheming a setup for an EV tow vehicle with an Alto behind. If that's your setup too would love to hear if it's working out for you!
@@hellochriscole This is exactly our setup. We picked up our Alto R1713 over the summer and drove it back home to the states with our Model Y. It does take a little longer, for sure, but it worked out for us because the Tesla supercharging infrastructure is everywhere we needed it and our children needed to stop every 1.5-2 hours anyway for potty breaks. For reference we averaged 55-60 mph while towing with an efficiency of 500-550 Wh/mi. There are several vehicles out there that get that kind of efficiency without pulling trailers.
That's alright. Best of wishes to the both of them 💕 If they still have any pictures or plans for the features, that would be a great help to me. My husband and I have been full timing in a camper for a little over a year now and are preparing to transition to a van in a year or so.
I wouldn't be leaving a trailer lying around in the middle of nowhere. Van is best cause the places you can use it to camp is far more greater then with a trailer.
I vote trailer simply for the fact that you did not address having to run out and pick up some essentials after setting up camp. Having a separate tow vehicle is a big plus. The van is amazing though.
Van. Sherri has talked herself into wearing the t-shirt. It may also help bring her "out of her shell". Magnetic spice rack & food hammock envy here. 👀 (Great video concept, loved it!)
The cost of entry to van life is so high that it puts it out of reach for the average working-class citizen. It is sure convenient to be able to just be able to pull in and you are ready to go but that is irrelevant if you can't even access a van. Therefore - trailer life for the win! The trailer may be a little less convenient in that you have to actually set up and tear down but you get more space anyway and most people can get into the lifestyle without breaking the bank.
Trailer, especially when you add the storage in the bathroom cabinet and under the rear bench seats in the Alto. (But I am addicted to van life videos : )
I just caught your channel surfing Google for the Alto camper you own. I saw it a few years ago when it first came out and wanted it soooo bad. Still do but it's hard plunking that much money down on such a small camper. I guess I haven't committed yet. Still waiting to figure it all out. Meanwhile - I'll watch you two, funny and entertaining people. Loved your comparison.
you didn't even mention all the storage under the beds in the Alto...nor, did you mention the fact that with a trailer, you don't have to break camp/leveling, etc., just to do day trips out of the campground. So, trailer wins, by far, in my opinion
I like both versions, for those who do not have a van, the trailer but the van is better for emergencies, you are inside it and you jump off the wheel and leave, in the trailer you would be trapped if they try to rob you.
Trailer only because I can’t fit a Campervan over 7’ in my garage. If I could find a pop-van with a bathroom sold in the USA. Toyota has a Sanna version in the UK but with only a portable toilet. OR a pricey VW extended van pop-top with an inside toilet again only currently available in the UK unfortunately. I would like to have everything self contained in one vehicle that has options to sleep 4 with a more private toilet than the Toyota but not as pricey as the VW extended van with toilet...still looking
Trailer. Husband is 6'5''. Need long bed, prefer exiting bed forward versus over another body when back door closed. Also the seperate car for daily use, especially when not camping! The van is a great design for young ones, ha ha
We gave a tour, just last weekend, to a guy who was 6’ 11” tall. He confirmed that it’s not seven feet tall inside lol. He said it might have been his shoes and our rug that pushed his height just a bit over the limit. 😂
Unless we live in the van, the truck and camper make more sense. Lets avoid the pop top, please. We could do the tab series, but I really like toy haulers.
Trailer for me. Because you don’t have to bring your house with you every time you pick up your groceries or your wood or you go out on an excursion. Plus the price of a trailer is a lot less than that of a van.
For my needs I like the Alto- mostly because of the adaptable indoor living and windows. I also do not intend to live full time on my camper, so I do need some of the van features. A crucial factor not mentioned in the video is EXPENSE! The Alto can be towed with many vehicles, eliminating the need to purchase another vehicle.
Well presented and very entertaining, thank you all! As a noo-B to this whole camping scene, the jump to the van may be too much! It is cute and has some advantages, however, the Alto takes first in my mind. Keep the videos coming!
I vote trailer, especially because it’s nice to be able to leave the trailer behind if you want to go on day trips with a decent size vehicle.

coffee shelf. I see our priorities are in line. I like it!

Hahahaha... you folks are fun... cheers!
It's a tie! 🏞️ I love both! Both are wonderful ways to get you out in nature.
Honestly you guys are so cheerful and happy it brings me so much joy! You seem to really love what you do and your family :)
I love the Alto, but as a solo female traveler, for safety, the van wins!
Everything alright out there? We all miss your fun, quirky and informative videos!
Well given we have an R1723, we have to vote for “trailer” but honestly what your daughter has done with her van is amazing. Absolutely love the interior decorating and those dresser drawers are amazing we prefer separate TV or else your daughter would have got our vote lol
Alto all the way, but will admit what your daughter and her fiance have done with the van is impressive.
😢
Maybe a different trailer would compete with the van…but this van design is so original and creative
On my boat I have a very large cutting board that fits the top drawer. So with a burner on the counter it gives you counter space in front of the burner
Hi there. Miss you guys. Hope you had a great camping simmer. Looking forward to a new installment
Thank you Susan! Where did summer go, right?!?! Hoping to get back to making videos soon.
Trailer Life it's easier to leave your home behind to go shopping then bring your van home with you everywhere you go so #trailer love it
I love love love the van and how cleverly everything was set up for convenience. For two people under 5'10" its perfect! All electric ⚡️ yes!! We too are hoping to go that route one day!
Thinking of going that route too! Scheming a setup for an EV tow vehicle with an Alto behind. If that's your setup too would love to hear if it's working out for you!

I love the build of this van! I tried to find it on the link provided, but had a little trouble. Where can I see more of this van??
Sorry but they sold their van. Thanks for watching!
That's alright. Best of wishes to the both of them 💕 If they still have any pictures or plans for the features, that would be a great help to me. My husband and I have been full timing in a camper for a little over a year now and are preparing to transition to a van in a year or so.
Trailer, the van is great and perfect for what your daughter used it for. The trailer is best for camping trips.
You can tell they are crazy trumpers from the getgo 🤣
I wouldn't be leaving a trailer lying around in the middle of nowhere. Van is best cause the places you can use it to camp is far more greater then with a trailer.
Excellent information thank you

Van. Without question for me 👍👍

It should be that van versus that trailer. Every situation is different..
I just caught your channel surfing Google for the Alto camper you own. I saw it a few years ago when it first came out and wanted it soooo bad. Alto - because you can unhook it at your site and still travel around.
Any new video soon? How is camping this season for you guys? Looking forward to new videos. I am only six months from my F1723.
You’re almost there!! We hope to soon! Thanks for watching!

I like the trailer, but the van is a winner! Ease of use tops a reflective ceiling every time.
😂
Alto wins because of the gorgeous windows but we love the van toooooo! ❤️
Our vote is for camper van. Although we seriously looking at the same Alto model. We love the ease of travelling without pulling a trailer.
Seeing as we just bought an Alto, I’m not objective... I vote Alto!
We were about 3/4 through the video and townes says "where did erma go??" cuz she hadn't made an appearance yet, but not long after she did! :) haha
😂 ❤️
I like both versions, for those who do not have a van, the trailer but the van is better for emergencies, you are inside it and you jump off the wheel and leave, in the trailer you would be trapped if they try to rob you.
Alto wins. King size bed a win! The van is nice though. Do love the dresser!
Cool !! I chose a van !! 🙂🙂😎

Just found your channel (searching for Safari Condo), love your style.

Oh, I love the van.......but I'm not 25 anymore!!! Trailer all the way.
I love the both.
What are the price difference?
Are you at patapsco Valley State Park now? That appeared on the display. We are very close and would love to meet you guys Alto owner to Alto owner.
We were 😞Sorry we missed you.
Haven’t seen you two in a long time. I hope you are all okay,
Unless we live in the van,
the truck and camper
make more sense.
Lets avoid the pop top,
please. We could do
the tab series, but I
really like toy haulers.
Travel trailer for life!!!!
Trailer for me. Because you don’t have to bring your house with you every time you pick up your groceries or your wood or you go out on an excursion. Plus the price of a trailer is a lot less than that of a van.
Trailer for sure, van breaks down, goodbye home....
Alto!!
How big is your trailer?
17’ long.
Alto for sleeping and window views.
What kind of van if you don't mind me asking.
It’s a RAM Promaster.
It's a ram promaster 2500
Had I been patient 😌😁
Alto Trailer wins all day long. Hard to compete with the design and views.
Trailer for 2 people for sure. Partner is 6'4", so van would never work, although super design.
Trailer!!🎉
Alto most definitely
Well presented and very entertaining, thank you all! As a noo-B to this whole camping scene, the jump to the van may be too much! It is cute and has some advantages, however, the Alto takes first in my mind. Keep the videos coming!
I may have missed it... who won?
😂 it would seem the contest was rigged! Alto/trailer FTW 😝
Van is better to travel the states. Trailer if your camping local.
As a future alto owner , sadly the charming young lady hit it out of the park . Very industrious but I’ll stay with trailer …she still wins
Alto!
Trailer!
Trailer.Don't have to pack up camp to run to store
Alto wins!
VAN
Neither because the van was not a professional made van love the winnebago travato
