    Looking forward to the upcoming project! Also the TS80 is similar to the TS100 but USB C Power Delivery powered. Useful to run off a usb battery bank.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  4 роки тому +6

      Cool, the TS80 is half the wattage however, and there's already been times where I was soldering a larger gauge wire that was sinking the heat away and the 65 watts was borderline... so for my application the TS100 with the drill battery will be preferable.

    • @v0idgrim
      @v0idgrim 4 роки тому +2

      Everlanders you should check out Marco Reps test of the TS80. It's actually higher in power while soldering.
      TS100 has a higher peak wattage but sustained wattage is lower :)

      I also have the TS100 and you can make a simple adapter for USB-C > barrel jack that can power the TS100 on 20V which is great. If you have a 45-65W USB-C power source. Just google "zypds usb-c" this is the board I used. 10cm cable and just heatschrink it.

I joined a looong time ago because i Loved your attitude and "genuineness". It saddens me to see you not reaching a million subs but I feel confident you will reach that milestone one day for sure. You guys are probably one of two or three content creators putting out free content that I feel guilty of not supporting. Unfortunately my situation does not allow me to be able to accomplish that but I am hopeful that one day i will be able to :). Please always remember that sharing knowledge will always enrich your own self. although I enjoy your regular videos of your travels and how you do tours of rigs or document your travels with facts etc make me feel i am there myself although my situation does not allow that and i really thank you for that. its a personal experience with you and not at all like with most you tubers. But the ABSOLUTE BEST is when you share this knowledge in a way that i can understand. maybe next time you do any mods (pass or fail) you film the process and share it. that will connect more people to you and your journey through life and establish loyalty and respect. I wish you all the best and look forward to more videos like this :)

    For anyone reading comments, can look up any notebook chargers to see their volt/amp requirements. Older ones tend to be in the 19-24range. iFixit sometimes has teardowns of devices. From one of their videos, I found the IC power chip used for Microsoft surface pro tablets has a very nicely wide range so I charge it from either the cigarette port via 12v or a usb-c PD2.0 device. Same for using a blu-ray player . Generally, just remember it's easy to release the magic smoke and burn up your device when you do this. I tried to put 16v into a 12ish volt blu-ray and the smokium maximus spell caused it never work again.

      Yes, we love the little USB Lights/Zappers - although they don't really have that monumental ZAPP you'd expect, they somehow do it silently... And Mosquitoes are attracted to Co2 and not UV Light, so they aren't effective for mosquitoes - but they ARE effective for no-seeums and a plethora of other tiny fruit fly bugs that get through our screen. It's always plugged up and needing to be cleaned out - My only complaint is that it's a bit tricky to clean out, they say to run it under water, but that takes a lot of water for us, so I've been using compressed air and sometimes a ear cleaner to get in between the fins and get them loosened off.

    I'm more interested in what voltage configuration you have your battery cell's in and how much amp hours do you have. Last is how long does the battery hold up to medium usage /take to get very low amp hours ? Looking to change my RV over to calb cells and know I need more than 400 amp hours. • @Everlanders

      I can't imagine that relay would last very long with 3,000 volts arcing across the contacts... I bet you it has welded itself closed already.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  4 роки тому

      On second thought so I suppose the resistor would limit the arc.

    • @bencorrado
      @bencorrado 4 роки тому

      Yeh, I was thinking replace the main switch with a DPDT switch with a current limiting resistor on it for bleeding the cap. One circuit would be NO for the zapper on button, the other would be NC for the bleeder resistor. Big question there is isolation, but probably not a huge risk, would certainly need to limit any stray capacitance/inductance in the circuit with the bleeder to keep the arcing to a minimum with a purely resistive setup.

    Hello quick question... what delivery service are you using to receive your goods down there in Ol' Mexico?

    • @Everlanders

      We've had really bad luck with every courier other than DHL, We've been forced to ship a few with FedEx, and they got here eventually, but with really high Customs Clearance fees.

    Is the actual induction component in the base station of the toothbrush charger actually AC... that surprises me if so, would it not have been simpler to hack the base station and leave the brush intact as now you have an exposed usb port that's gonna get full of toothpaste and water. 🧐🤔

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  4 роки тому +1

      I already tried that, the base station was completely sealed in potting compound... I suppose I can take the induction coil that I removed from the toothbrush and put it on there and see what kind of voltage I get...

    Do you think it's worth eliminating micro USB by switching the connectors to USB-C? Or using those magnetic connectors? Micro USB has been really unreliable for me and cables don't usually last more than 3-4 months.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  4 роки тому +1

      We haven't replaced any cables yet, the little turd rewards that I showed are also available in USBC, but they are five times the price and for the little doodads that need recharging what I have is plenty good enough.

    Do you have any problems with your devices handling the wide voltage range of the "12 V" lithium supply? Way beyond ±10%.
    Devices designed to be powered via cigarette lighter should not be a problem, but I'd worry about others.

    • @Everlanders
      @Everlanders  Рік тому +1

      I've never had a problem, our house batteries are pretty stable around 13.4 volts and not connected to the chassis batteries. And if I feel anything has sensitive enough electronics that it needs 12 volts ±, then I use a DC regulator as shown in this more recent video. ua-cam.com/video/UAZGX379dmc/v-deo.html

      Yes, we have neither a generator nor mains power. What I meant by that was that I would not charge a small battery from a small battery like the Milwaukee. The power source would always be the LiFePo4 house batteries.
