Yes now that we have covered all the tools and materials you need in video 1 (if you missed it catch it here: • How to Make Silver Jew... ) we are ready to start making some silver jewellery!
Starting with one of my fave beginners projects... silver stacked rings.
Use either round, square, d-shaped or beaded wire to make a set (or 1) stacking ring.
This is a great way to make a piece of jewellery that you can enjoy wearing, gift to friends and family or start a jewellery business with.
Plus you will learn the fundamental silver jewellery techniques of soldering, sawing, filing, polishing and finishing.

A great course! I did have a jewelry class but had to leave school early. This is a wonderful refresher but also you've covered more than I had before. I do a lot of beading, mixed with tatting, needle weaving and macrame so I have a lot of those tools; this will just give me more to do.

Can you use these techniques on different types of metal aswell, or is this exclusively for silver?
Where would you say is the most cost effective place to buy sterling silver silver ?

You can quench before you pickle to cool down the piece or you can set it aside until it cools down x

What would be US equivalent of Glanol?
I'm not 100% sure sorry. Perhaps you could check with one of your bullion suppliers what they might recommend? x
Is there a reason you used the middle of the wire for this? I may have missed it in the video.
It seems like if you’d wrapped your mandrel starting with the end of the wire and having a smaller overlap, there would have been enough wire cut off to make a second ring.
Apart from that, i love your videos!
It helps to form a better circular shape if you use the middle of the wire and overlap the ends slightly. Rather than trying to form the shape using the very end of the wire. x

I came for a tutorial on jewelry making. 9 minutes in I'm watching a tutorial on how to use a torch.
I always like to walk through the tools and equipment first, it's important to have a good understanding. 😊
Never put your solder material on the bottom of your work....you want it to flow down through the work using gravity to pull it through and evenly adhere to all surfaces. Soldering 101...i will now go find a different video to watch where the person instructing has a clue what they are doing.
