Bikepacking Argentina "Guanaco Valley" - Bike Touring Ushuaia to Alaska (The Journey North Ep.3)

- Continuing the journey across Tierra Del Fuego I came across my first section of "La Estepa." The Steppe of this southern region. Barren and traditionally used for cattle ranching I was happy to see that there were plenty of Guanaco to keep me entertained. This odd ancestor to the Llama make their lives down here and seem to be prospering. Tree cover is hard to find and this means that the winds don't have trouble finding you.

Hi Karl. Great leg of your trip! Your map in this and the previous video shows like you went cross country from Ushuaia to Puerto Almanza and you continued East through route J and then straight North to Tolhuin which must have been cross country since there are no roads not tracks there.
On the other hand in a previous video there is a shot where you are at route J km 19. That same video shows you on route 3 and there is a shot at Paso Garibaldi. I assume you reached Tolhuin through route 3. I just wanted to confirm since I am planning to cycle across Tierra del Fuego next summer here. Thanks!
Hey Martin, I rode the bikepacking .com route for tierra del fuego minus a little section next to the paved route before Tolhuin, I highly recommend it but it isn't easy. If going south winds will be with you. North, against, if just riding down there I think south would be a lot more fun
Thanks for sharing your adventure and keep going bro!
Hi man!✌👊 it really takes bravery and courage to do what you do, it is another country, culture and language.💪💪 I appreciate you sharing your adventure and wish you are well! Good luck!! Greetings from México!
Gracias amigo!
Outstanding! Loved the whole video. Stay safe.
If your rear wheel gives out, you could tame some of those llamas and ride them to Alaska!
Or just ride with a pack of them?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Karl Kroll(ama)

Thinking of you climbing the fences and then having to come back for the camera!
