Thanks for being so honest about how it’s been financially, the difference in prices for things is eye opening! I know salaries are generally higher but not by that much, that’s eye watering! Also really appreciate your honesty about parenthood while also keeping it positive, such a refreshing take. I know you’ve said before people can be so negative about being a parent online. You talk about it in such a relatable way, it’s the best thing ever whilst also being the hardest thing ever
Ride it out! There is always more money to be earnt and when you move back to the UK your income will have maintained on par with your lifestyle because as you say it’s cheaper. What you will not be able to buy is the memories and experience you have worked for for the next 3 years! Live it up! Stay present and focused on enjoying these few years! Love watching you guys!
When we first moved to the US I cried thinking we made a huge mistake then my husband got British TV set up then I was fine, just needed that little bit of home! Now we travel back and forth having the best of both worlds. Normally we spend the summer in the UK the Texas heat is more than I can handle and go home fro Christmas. We were planning on going home to stay 6 moths and 6 in the US but not until the elections are over.
Gosh I think you always have those thoughts, its not just the 6 month mark - I moved to New Zealand 5 years ago and I'm still think about moving home! but Connor is right the grass isnt always greener and its a blessing that we're able to move abroad, its a challenge and not easy but it is such an adventure and so rewarding being able to say you've done that!! xx
Selfishly, as a viewer I desperately want you guys to move back 😅 especially this time of year, England is so cozy I am missing that type of content from you. Do Connor’s parents have plans to come visit?
Good for you!! The UK isn’t going anywhere. You can always return there down the road. I’m thrilled you’re committed to adventuring around the US. You’re creating precious memories that will last a lifetime. I adore your family and vlog so much! Thanks for taking us along on this journey! ❤😀🍂
When I lived in Dallas, I always had solar batteries and a bag for me and my dogs with some cash (for me about $1000) in smaller bills in case the power was out for several days like it was when Katrina hit the banks couldn't give out money and no one had small bills to exchange. So pack bags and keep them under the stairway as your emergency 'get out' bag that has everything you and your dogs need, along with first aid, money etc.... Also some food and water storage is a good idea too for at least 4 days minimum. That is just my two cents, I work in healthcare as well so the people who are prepared always do the best. You just never know, especially with the changing weather systems
Not going to lie the uk for me is more cosier and a touch of magic in your vlogs just hits different I miss it but .. the America vlogs are fun too ❤ you’ll find your happiness
What a lovely surprise. My favourite girlie. It's always the best time when i see one of your vlogs. Your positivity is so contagious, you're amazing you make me smile 🥰
Texas girl here! You can absolutely “ride out” most of the hurricanes/storms! Grew up in Houston (Sugar land) and we did that for most! It truly depends on the area (suburb, etc.) you live in!
So relieved for you both sticking with your move and working through that pull to home.. because my god it is tough!!! There are always pro’s and cons to the experience you choose to go through in life.. and these experiences in the US are some you won’t ever come to regret. You are building your life portfolio and there is so much bravery and character building being done ❤
I enjoy watching mummysflippinhouse who is English and has just moved back to the UK after 10 years in the US. She talks a lot about the costs in the UK compared to the US and I am so shocked. I had no idea it was that different now. We used to travel to Florida a lot when our children were little and it was always good value to eat out, food shop etc. I don’t think we will be going back any time soon!
We moved several hours away from our home of 24 years, and it took nearly a year before I felt like this was home! I know being in another country is different, but uprooting yourself after that many years came with it's own set of problems/issues/challenges. I would say don't give up before the magic happens.
Totally relate to your UK chat, its like leaving a job taking a year off on maternity, you go back & its literally like you never left!! Youve gotta take the opportunities whilst you can & at least you know now bath high street will be waiting for you whenever you decide to come home! I admire you guys so much & ive loved living your journey, dont want it to end!! Theres so much fun to come, & America just sounds so exciting to have little kids! Xxx
AS a US born American, Health Insurance is much easier and cheaper when you get it through your employer. Also, I am not sure if your insurance offers this service, but instead of spending so much time calling to find a practitioner or dentist etc. you can find out through your insurance who in your area is within the same network. For example: mine has an app and I can filter what type of provider I need and it will give me all the providers currently taking new patients and accepts my insurance. Hope this helps, love to you both ❤
I have been in Australia for 2 years.. I didn’t settle until 8 months and as much as you love your new life, there will always be times of wobbles. As you said 1 little thing can create a huge wobble and question everything! I will also say I struggle if I don’t make it home every 6 months for a visit. However being home for 2 months this time.. I struggled to feel like I belonged at home but still question where the best place to be is. Once you have a home in more than one place your heart never feels complete.. but it is always worth it and the feeling of gratitude and appreciation always wins ❤
My brother has lived in Vietnam for 15 years and when he comes home to visit it’s like he’s never been away floor him with friends and family. The real ones love you and stick around no matter where you are 🤍
I live in North Carolina and I absolutely love your channel. I know you may miss home but I've been loving your beautiful families adventures here in the US. Hope you decide to stay a little longer but either way I will still watch. God bless you and your family ❤
Before you move back I soooo suggest having at least 4 months by the beach. I’m from California (northern california) and yes it’s so expensive but living the southern california beach life or even florida would be such a fun experience before you move back!!! (easier said than done with 3 children) but forsure something you should do ❤️
What you’re saying about moving away to grow.. I can fully relate! Me and my mum have always had a rocky relationship more so since my dad passed when I was 16! My mental health struggled a lot. I tried to move but when I was pregnant at 19 with my first I wanted to be home so had moved back into my mums but when he was 5 weeks old she kicked off stuff happened next day I was upping my life moving 200 miles to my partners mums with our newborn! Now 6 years on I’ve grown loads as a person.. I’ve become more in tune with myself and now looking into adhd and asd testing for myself.. my oldest is going through it all currently! But my life has honestly changed for the better since moving away and people are always going to be there who truly care for you 🥰
Hi Elle and Connor really enjoyed the chat. Growing up in a military family we moved a lot in the USA never overseas and for me it was always rough however I got used to it. You have a beautiful family and home is where your heart is. Happy you decided to stay. Lots of love to you all and God bless ❤️🤗
It will all work out. It will be busy with baby No 3 but you will cope. It’s your decision whether to move or not. Look how far you have come with setting up another life in the US. God bless. Your doing a fantastic job with all your boys( Herbie and Hector included)❤
Use your visa up and get your american life chapter then you could always try another country (aus/spain etc) or move back home and possibly build your own uk home with all the ideas youve loved from all the homes youve lived in 🥰
I moved to Canada from Scotland when I was 23 and heavily pregnant. I didn’t enjoy it and found it so hard to settle there. Managed 16 months and we then made another move to Hong Kong and had our 2nd child .. we’ve lived here for 9 years now and no plans to move back to UK anytime soon. We’ve only gone back 4 times in 11 years for holidays. It’s hard moving away but it gets easier with time.
I’m so looking forward to your Christmas content this year. They are always my favourite vlogs but I can’t wait to see the difference in your UK and USA decor and just Christmas in general.
Truly enjoy watching your videos and living vicariously as you both bravely explore a brand new world as a young family! And the positive attitudes you maintain. However I do feel a responsibility to point out, as I’m sure you have viewership from all over, that many of the pros you’ve listed pertaining to the US - access to thorough healthcare, decent insurance, activities/clubs/sports for children, safe community spaces and events etc - these truly are privileges that in this country are very much limited depending on the demographic and income. I just don’t want it to come off like the US is a lovely fairytale all across the land. Not to be negative or take away from the happiness you have found here at ALL. I’m so happy to see the beauty you’ve found in this new life stage. Just wanted to point out that these things are not accessible to many people here and I wouldn’t consider most of them even the standard anymore. Not just those experiencing poverty. Even families in the (shrinking) middle class cannot afford many of these basic “luxuries.” We have people in this country losing their livelihoods because of being diagnosed with cancer or chronic disease, etc. I believe it’s just important to keep this in mind.
You can always change in the future like you said! We miss the UK (live in NZ now) and we moved for the quality of life, the wages are lower and the costs are higher but after a year I wouldn't change it for the world, can't wait to see the family for Christmas in the UK though! So glad not to have so many grey days!! You guys got this xxxx
It all depends on where you live in the US too! Where I live in Michigan, it is not as expensive! Btw..I feel like you and Connor are even closer. Just my observation!❤❤❤❤
I’m from Texas and thinking about moving to Michigan. I have an auto immune disease where heat makes me have flare ups and I get sick a lot. After this summer and being sick the entire time, I’ve been looking at other states and Michigan is definitely one I’m truly considering.
@@brandybird3954 I have MS and the summers are hard on me, but I love the fall, and don't mind part of the winter because the heat isn't aggravating it. Just wish spring came a little sooner! Wishing nothing but the best for you!❤
I lived in FL for a year and experienced 2 major cat 5 hurricanes (Katrina & Wilma), valuables in the dishwasher, garden furniture placed in garden pool, hide out in walk in airing cupboard 🤯 and the heat and humidity with no air con and electric 🥵 Hence 1 year later I returned to Channel Islands (UK) to enjoy the beaches with no hurricanes 😆 Make the most of it guys and enjoy the American chapter 🇺🇸
The community vibe and all the things going on in the US just seems so right (I mean other than the obvious political chaos). Do wish we had more of that here
Always happy to see you both! Glad you are staying. Very normal to go through a period of the blues after such a major life change. Texas storms are no joke, they are scary if you are not accustomed to them. But, no matter where you live in the US, there will be some sort of weather system to deal with.
So glad you decided to stay in USA think it suits you guys so much ❤️ also hoping your new brand is either similar to Angel collection or a kids clothing brand!! 🥹 like having mini me options ❤️
I think you are pretty courageous to make such a huge move to the US. but it does sound very expensive. In my heart of hearts, I do believe you will eventually move back to the U.K. simply because of your family and friends. It would certainly never be a failure on your part if you did decide to do that as you are currently living your dream. I also think the distance makes travelling back and forth so much more challenging - if you were in a European country, it would be easier but then you would have the language barrier. I must admit I would be pretty scared regarding hurricanes and tornadoes but here in Greece, we have the worry of earthquakes! Whatever, I wish you and your children the very best.🧡🍁🍂
I think on the cost of living, if you have a 'normal' / office job, you're paid a lot more in the US than in the UK. which I suppose may even out the cost of living
I think having 3 children is like an odd number you need to have teams like number 4 but wait for a much bigger age gap and enjoy the your little team of 3. You have done a lot in the last 6 months and the close age of your toddlers it is no wonder you feel this pregnancy harder. Good luck to both of you enjoy the fall and the preparation for your new little girl💕
You didn’t feel sick going back to America because you were going home. Home is where your husband and children are. Home isn’t a place, whenever those are they are home 🥰❤️
100% agree with the moving back comments, we have lived in Canada 7 years now, the first couple trips back you have a feeling oh do I don’t I etc but yeah nothing changes back in the UK and ultimately your life in the US is better for your kids in the way of opportunities and that’s how we feel for us and our family too. We now can’t wait to get back to Canada after our UK trips, would we love to pick all our family up and plonk them here in Canada with us, of course! But ultimately life is better here for us all. The first year is the hardest for sure but as you build your life there and continue to the UK becomes less and less of something you want Also for us our cost of living is the opposite, we are better off here in Canada than the UK haha probably helps being that way round 😂
I emigrated from the Uk to Australia with my family when I was 15. I love Australia. I also love England. I will forever be torn between two countries.
Thanks for sharing your experience! From my understanding the average annual salary for a corporate type job is a lot higher in the US than the UK, so that could also be a factor in the increased prices? So interesting hearing the figures though that pet insurance cost is WILD 😱
We’re very partial to our favorite place but we want to strongly recommend that when you visit California, when you search the world to find another spot to settle, that you visit/consider Redlands, CA. I (Teri) have been here my whole life and I’ve traveled to many different places and it’s still my favorite. We aren’t on the beach but here’s the thing… you can get in your car and be at the beach in 1 hr. Within one hour you can also be in the mountains and equally so within an hour you can be in the iconic Palm Springs (my second fav). For a place in California, the Redlands area is more affordable (more so than the beach anyway) and it’s a “large” town with a very small-town feel. If you don’t settle here you won’t regret visiting. If you’re ever close please say hello and let us show you around. 😊 We’re new subscribers but I’m (Teri) already obsessed. I’m so in love with your genuine and grateful heart and I’m happy to admit that I’ve cried along with you when you’ve poured your heart out about your homesickness, dreams and stories of your mom. Thank you for being willing to share your life with us and we look forward to seeing wherever life takes you and your lovely family. ❤
I hope you stay in America. The content is so much better and so much more places to explore. I'm going to be heartbroken if you move back to the uk, not going to lie. I am in Canada and living through you, the USA content is more exciting as a viewer
We had a tornado on Christmas last year on the Gold Coast Australia which is pretty much unheard of. It was awful and we lost power for over a week and I was 35 weeks pregnant and it was sooo hot 🥵
You guys should move to Australia, I think you’d love it! It’s cheaper than the US in terms of healthcare & insurances and has the beautiful weather & easy going lifestyle, beaches, sports etc
I still have my hoodie from your last brand, Angelle and it’s one of the nicest, no THE nicest hoodies I’ve ever bought it’s from 2019 and it’s still so nice 😊
Am I right in thinking the salaries in US are generally higher than here in the UK though, which reflects the cost of living. Not sure if you're getting paid in US dollars or UK money still now, but I wonder if that is why it feels particularly tight, because you are on 'UK Salary' but US prices, whereas a lot of people out there will be on higher US Salary.
Just bought a 2024 Suburban it has enough room for 8 people and our 3 dogs! They are expensive but if you need space it will accommodate almost anything.
Great vid guys….on the subject of money and sorry if you have already said, but what does Connor do for work? Or are you both in social media/content creator? With the cost of living being so different just curious if you knew before you moved that both your incomes were good enough to survive
The finances sounds redic its not shallow at all its shocking the comparator of the dog insurance says it all. I hope you don't feel pressure to stay, come back if it's too much
You are definitely being ripped off on dog insurance - I pay $61.00 per month for one dog. You do have to buy it when the dog is under 1 year old. Salaries are a lot higher in the US for equivalent jobs. I don’t know about social media though. Taxes are lower in the US also. I lived in Europe for almost 20 years so I have lived in both. I love Europe and there are pluses and minuses to each place. In a tornado you should never be upstairs- you should be in the lowest level.
LOVE the raw honesty and no gate keeping. Really respect you for it, no beating around the bush
They’re a lot higher. I hear 50,000 is well off there. Here that’s just ok.
I’m so glad y’all haven’t left The USA… it has been so much fun watching y’all navigate life in a new country 💛💛

The first year is the hardest for sure but as you build your life there and continue to the UK becomes less and less of something you want
Also for us our cost of living is the opposite, we are better off here in Canada than the UK haha probably helps being that way round 😂
Elle!! You can sing! That flyyy sounded so good!❤️
Instantly going to grab a cuppa and some biscuits to watch this video ❤️
We’re new subscribers but I’m (Teri) already obsessed. ❤
100% agree with El on the Diet Coke! Diet Coke over Coke Zero any day
I hope you stay in America.
❤🎉yaaay a chat session
Guys you just made my day
I love how the cup sauce doesn’t go down 😂
You guys should move to Australia, I think you’d love it!
It’s cheaper than the US in terms of healthcare & insurances and has the beautiful weather & easy going lifestyle, beaches, sports etc
id love to leave the US, born here and i’m so miserable but hearing what you guys have to say reinsures me i’m not losing my mind lol
I still have my hoodie from your last brand, Angelle and it’s one of the nicest, no THE nicest hoodies I’ve ever bought it’s from 2019 and it’s still so nice 😊

I'm so jealous of your life Elle 😢
Loved the vlog guys. X
Wow dog insurance!! Here in New Zealand we only pay approximately 75 GBP and 98 USD per YEAR for dog insurance.
Yeah Raising Caines!
Elle, kids and Connor do an Olive Garden vlog pls. Olive Garden still has the Never ending pasta bowl 🍝 going on!
Yesss… Olive Garden would be so fun
The kids will love their bread sticks and they have a great kid’s menu
Love these vlogs, sending love from Florida ❤
Love this 🩷🩷 it's great to hear how you're all doing 💖💖
Great vid guys….on the subject of money and sorry if you have already said, but what does Connor do for work? Or are you both in social media/content creator? With the cost of living being so different just curious if you knew before you moved that both your incomes were good enough to survive
Your program is great. I enjoyed it. Good luck. I also cook delicious food for the twins.❤❤❤
I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with you Elle but Coke Zero allllll the way😂🥰

Hi Elle and Connor lovely Q&A love you guys so much 🥰💗💙
I’ve just had a baby granddaughter Delilah she is absolutely beautiful 🩷
Congratulations! 💗
The finances sounds redic its not shallow at all its shocking the comparator of the dog insurance says it all. I hope you don't feel pressure to stay, come back if it's too much
My eldest daughter kept saying last baby definitely mum 😅she is now a Mum of 6 girls and 4 boys ,,, yepp 10 beautiful children , no twins xx

thank you SO much for moving that sauce 😂😂
Love watching you guys x ❤
You would love Canada! So safe and everything about it is beautiful! You should at least visit. Love to you and your adorable family ❤
I swear connor sang everytime we touch I get the ceiling 😂😂❤
You are definitely being ripped off on dog insurance - I pay $61.00 per month for one dog. You do have to buy it when the dog is under 1 year old. Salaries are a lot higher in the US for equivalent jobs. I don’t know about social media though. Taxes are lower in the US also. I lived in Europe for almost 20 years so I have lived in both. I love Europe and there are pluses and minuses to each place. In a tornado you should never be upstairs- you should be in the lowest level.
love this ❤️❤️
You guys are the best
Loving watching u guys! ❤
