The analogy of holding you under the water is the best concept of a choke I've heard.

Marcelo is a legend to say the least, and I'm so happy to see he is okay, in good spirits and back on the mats. But this is what makes John Danaher so special. He is able to effectively communicate the techniques Marcelo used in a concise way that is easily replicable, while also providing an understanding of why the technique works. This type of instruction for people like me is useless. I can't learn by hearing "control him here", "boom you go here" "use surprise to connect your hands". Theres no system. Theres no process. For Marcelo, someone who is naturally talented and athletic it works, but for a pleb like me I need something I can replicate and integrate into a system of conceptual framework with practical knowledge for real world application.

Yeah this is the feeling I got watching a Marcelo instructional. I like the way Danaher presents the system better than everyone else I've seen. This is obviously very subjective.

The ending was really good advice that I needed. Don't rush the finish just don't let them get out.

From a guy who has the demeanor of a high school math teacher, yet can do bad things to just about anyone, this is fun to watch.
