This is probably the biggest moment outside of Sonic X that hints that despite how clingy she can be, Sonic does hold value in her company and just cannot really appreciate it till it's running away from him.
Then maybe Amy should play “hard to get” one of these days. She’d probably get what she wants in an instant.

@@PrincessQ-fj9ly I love her portrayal in IDW comics the most. She still clearly loves sonic but she understands Sonic and respects his boundaries. Like one thing I find adorable is there are scenes when sonic arrives and you can see Amy’s tail is wagging. So cute

Well the Werehog isn’t that scary looking, Chips comments on the subject aside. He just looks like an edgy’re hedgehog and I guess I can’t blame Amy for not recognizing Sonic right away.

Something else this scene highlights is not just Sonic actually caring about Amy but caring about how she perceives him. Sonic is a cool and reliable hero and someone Amy looks up to and greatly admires. But he now looks like a scary monster and isn't quite as capable as he normally is. So Chip's dress down put the idea in Sonic's head that Amy would reject him if he's not the version of Sonic she's used to, the confident fun-loving but serious hero.
For a moment Sonic doubted Amy would love and accept all of him regardless of how he looked. That's a hard thing to accept when one of your closest friends shouts their love from the rooftops and is adamant in their support and faith in you. If even Amy turned away from his werehog form where does that leave Sonic? Of course, we know Amy doesn't fear or hate Sonic when he looks that way she doesn't care. Sonic is Sonic and she'll always love him no matter what form he takes. But he didn't know that at the time.
Yeah that sounds about right! Also explains why he ran away from her immediately after saving her in that one cutscene. He didn’t want her to see him like that. Who knew sonic, our cocky and confident hero, could show insecurity in front of amy? He doesn’t want her to see the worst part of him, he’s afraid of what she thinks of him now. Who knew sonic could care about something trivial like that after appearing uninterested in her for so long.

It’s been ten years and I’m still impressed by this game’s graphics.
I'm actually baffled how amazing and Pixar like this game looks especially for 2008.
Plus how the games from then started dropping quality. Ik it was to make levels playable cus the levels were dropping frames but cmon

@@teamdreamcast8726 ok here’s what I know from experience. I can’t remember if this is legit but I was told that anything relationship/ shipping based is supposed to be done by the fans. If you see it in a show or game, it’s like a subtle nod, but sonic himself was never intended to “settle down yet.” Now with that said, I think he does like amy, because he appreciates her as a comrade and friend. but she can be very pushy and invasive. Sonic has also lived alone for many years without a mother or parents so he wouldn’t really know how to treat a woman intimately. I can imagine in that way, love being some kind of foreign language to sonic, so naturally he would act shy and distant about it. However Amy is also the only friend sonic has that would say “I love you,” something he probably never hears, which is why he does eventually bend to her in some cases.

1:20 I never thought that Sonic for the first time ever, felt saddened by Amy not recognizing him despite hating the constant chases from her, even when she left him, he reached out for her to come back! This was a shocker to me. Even the second time he sees her after rescuing from the Gaia creatures, he immediately ran off, not saying a word, before she could see who saved her. OMG, he secretly cares for her!? Heck, when you interact with Amy again, you can actually have Sonic say to her about going on a date after he saves the world again, though it never actually happened. lol

Kind of a cute scene. At first Sonic is annoyed by Amy bugging him as usual, but then when she mistakes him for someone else and leaves, you can see how sad he got and he reaches out for her almost like he wanted her to stay and he actually enjoys her company.
This shows Sonic loves Amy. He also loves when Amy gives him warm hugs.
You can tell how depressed he got when she didn't recognize him.

You can find an entire comment section full of people who speculate about the relationship between Sonic and Amy without giving the most obvious answer with a little bit of common sense.
Sonic is 15 years old and is still going through puberty, therefore he has not developed his romantic feelings for Amy yet, while she is ahead of him on that part. Most of the furry characters your watching are not adults yet which corresponds with their childish behaviour.

I actually realized this because someone was talking about her character.
Amy supposedly has this thing she calls "Sonic Sense" which makes it easy to find him. And yes, twice (... Maybe three, considering they did that twice with Shadow) has she hugged the wrong hedgehogs. But there's one thing... The Sonic Sense isn't a power or anything so she can't get it completely accurate. When you realize she's accidentally hugging someone else, Sonic is seemingly near the area it took place. This Amy scene kind of proves that, because Sonic is literally that, but it doesn't look like Sonic, that's all.

I always liked chip, and thought of him as like one of my favorite additions to the sonic universe. I can kind of feel an essence of tails in him. I think Sonic, tails and chip would make an ideal trio.

I would've loved to see Cream's reaction to Werehog Sonic Bet she would've gotten scared of him and Amy grabs her and she says the same thing to him before running off with Cream but after being saved by Werehog Sonic from the Gaia Creatures they both recognize him after Professor Pickle explains everything to them I wouldn't have minded seeing Cream's reaction to Sonic's dead body in Elise's arms in Sonic 06 she would've cried just as much as Amy did.
Come on Cream barely gets to do anything at all she may be younger than Tails but she's a really good fighter and is a lot braver than people give her credit for.
