I normally drink Bonarda from the Mossi winery during meals, a winery with 500 years of history. It is a slightly sparkling red wine with a taste somewhere between sweet and slightly bitter. At five euros a bottle it has an excellent price/quality ratio. It is an Emilian Bonarda which, according to my personal taste, I appreciate more than the Lombard Bonardas.
Thank you for this overview of Lombardia! This is perfect for review and for newcomers alike. I'm glad you highlighted Groppello. Too bad there aren't very many Riviera del Garda Bresciano DOC wines on the export market. Thanks again!
You are dead on! These are lesser know wines from the rest of Italy but I will take a glass of Sparkling Wine from Bellavista, Ca Del Bosco or Berlucchi (Franciacorta) over Prosecco and most Champagnes. Thanks!
