Thanks, Jim! Your comments clearly explain the procedure, and the video is well shot.
I noticed a broken sway link on my 2010 Explorer on a Saturday after local auto repair places were closed, and with snow on the way. Your video gave me the confidence to pick up the parts at a nearby auto parts store, and complete the job the same afternoon.

Great video, thanks for the help. Is it likely that after tightening one side the other will be harder to align? should I put both sides on loosely before tightening them?

@@jimthecarguy Does sway bar adjust? My sway link and bushings wont fit bar is too low....sway kink rubbing on my CV axle. Use Jack and 2x4 to raise bar so kinks and bushing will fit?
Thank very helpful have two explorers and one of them was missing the bushings and the other didn’t have any (just bought it ) thinking it was the shocks but it’s the sway bar links. Still doing the whole front end on them tomorrow morning.
Excellent!!!

Thanks so much for the informative video!
Wow that looks super easy. Thanks for the video showing how its done. I've been doing maintenance on my new car when I have the time and this was another project I had no idea how to do.
Awesome video, this has helped me a lot
I've seen a few videos and the torque varies. You torqued far more than most. When I did my rear links, the part instructions stated to just snug until about 3 threads were showing. That's what I did. I've been nervous about it ever since. I used lock tight as instructed. Should I re-torque the nuts? Do I need to remove them or loosen them and apply fresh lock tight? Thank you.
I have not had that problem yet on my Explorer, but I will remember this video just in case I have that problem. My problem with the explorer is cranking normally, but the vehicle not starting. After viewing some videos I want to first check the sensor which controls if the vehicle will start. If that don't work, I have to check other problems before the new battery I put in goes down. The vehicle started perfectly until the last time I parked it and now it won't start.
Good luck.Thank you for stopping by the shop

What about coating the long bolt with anti seize or grease before putting it through the metal sleeve, wouldn't that help keep them from rusting?
Same issue happen to me the sucker broke, tried air chisel no luck, chopped off with sawzaw and then able to get off. Tx

Does sway bar adjust? My sway link and bushings wont fit bar is too low....sway kink running on my CV axle
thank you
How much does this cost in a shop?
Do you have to do both sides or just the one that is bad??
Lots of people will state that you ‘should’ do both sides, but why? These assemblies are all made, vehicle specific so it’s like one vs another will be different dimensions. Just repair as required.
A saws All works grate on then as well
thank you for stopping by the shop
i think my 4th gen has a broken sway bar i need to check tomorrow

Did you miss installing the bottom. Bushings?
Jim, thanks for the video. Will this procedure, be the same for my 2006 ford ranger 2 wheel drive? [ Looks like the same ] THANKS FRIEND
Are the rear seat bars assembled in the same manner

I guess Jim’s not great at catching the questions, LOL. If the body (and any other) bushings are worn, yes, replace them.@@jimthecarguy

Install the links on both sides on both sides before you tighten them down.
